Stub tags[edit]

Please take care not to add {{stub}} to an article like Sirugudal which already has a specific stub tag. Please also note that all stub tags go at the bottom of the article, not the top - see WP:ORDER. Thanks. PamD 23:24, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And please stop making completely incorrect edits like this one. Thanks. PamD 23:29, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More on stubs[edit]

Hallo, Please try and find the most specific stub tag - I've been looking at some of your recent stub tagging and they're often very broad. In particular watch out for "icehockey" rather than just "hockey". If you have a look at my "Contributions list" you can see the sort of ways in which stub types can be improved: there's a very full set of stub types to choose from, but it takes a while to get used to what's available. Often it's useful to click on the main category for an article and work upwards through the categories till you find one which has a Stub category - especially for any kind of biological organism like Mulga dragon. Happy Editing! PamD 21:50, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pam, thank you for explaining this. I was a little confused on how specific to be. It is also somewhat difficult to judge which categories have stubs. I will do my best and utilize the links you sent. Thanks again. Parzival1919 (talk) 22:13, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It can be difficult to find the right stub - some Indian states have stub types by district, others just by the state! - but it's usually possible to find something better than {{US-bio-stub}}. Have a look at some of the changes in Special:Contributions/PamD for the last hour or so, where I've tweaked a lot of your stub tagging! PamD 22:43, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that you're cleaning up after me! In the last few minutes I have worked on creating much more specific stubs. It is still hard to find the correct tag at times but I am working on it. Thanks again. Parzival1919 (talk) 22:45, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for commenting on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2017 NY Times Square attack. I noticed that you changed your !vote on this discussion from delete to keep. Changing your mind on a deletion discussion is certainly permitted; however, the preferred method of changing your own comment on any discussion page is by placing a strikethrough around the text you wish to change. For more information please see WP:REDACT. Thanks, —KuyaBriBriTalk 13:32, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for telling me this. I didn't know that. I changed my vote due to new information being realesed, but in the future I will use the method you've explained. Parzival1919 (talk)
