First article - some guidelines about notability and copyright issues[edit]

Dear Paperfire, hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'd like to take this opportunity to provide information related to creating articles. First, make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. Please review the following relevant policies and guidelines. Remember, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so articles must not contain original research, should cite to reliable sources which verify their content, must be written from a neutral point of view, and can not contain unsourced, negative content about living people, and finally, must not be copied from any other source.

In addition, articles need to assert the notability of the subject. Please see our subject-specific guidelines for people, bands and musicians, companies and organizations and web content. Also be aware that if you are closely associated with the subject, (or are writing about yourself) the conflict of interest guideline strongly recommends against you creating or editing the article.

If you still think your article is appropriate, see Help:Starting a new page. You might also look at Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:How to write a great article for guidance, and please consider taking a tour through the Wikipedia:Tutorial so that you know how to properly format the article before creation. If you would prefer to get input prior to creating the article, to avoid the possibility that it may be deleted, feel free to post your suggestions at the articles for creation page. Sincerely, ArielGold 16:57, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Shanda Interactive[edit]

A tag has been placed on Shanda Interactive, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 01:58, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Mike-morhaime.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mike-morhaime.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mike-morhaime.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mike-morhaime.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Evan Gordon[edit]

A tag has been placed on Evan Gordon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Swtor cover.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Swtor cover.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:31, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ivan Provorov has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Your edits to the TransCanada Corporation article[edit]

Your edits this morning (March 14) to the TransCanada Corporation article removed the following sections: Keystone Pipeline, Emininent Domain, Protests, Spills, British Colombia gas export pipelines, Proposed Oakville Generating Station that provided critical perspectives on the company. Can you explain a bit more about your reasons for removing these sections?

Here's the direct link to the revision I am referring to: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TransCanada_Corporation&type=revision&diff=830412928&oldid=822746894&diffmode=source

Answer: The article as it was written was poor quality and there was a rightful request for a toatl rewrite. There was limited information on the company's actual business and most of the information was unfairly critical, outdated and not important. As to the following points:

Keystone Pipeline, Eminent Domain: The information on the protests is old, and not completely relevant to have on the company's main page. It's better served to have information like this on the Keystone Pipeline's own article. But there could be potential here in a criticism section.

Spills: Not material to the company's operations, again there could be potential here in a criticism section.

British Columbia gas export pipelines: This project is long delayed and at this point is just an idea. It's not a material piece of information to have on the article.

Proposed Oakville Generating Station: Not an important piece of information or asset to the company, the plant was ultimately cancelled.

Basically this information is outdated, not material and biased. However to consider alternative views, I will consider writing an up-to-date, unbiased criticsm section for the new article.

Removal of material critical of TransCanada, Part 2[edit]

Can you explain this edit here?: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TransCanada_Corporation&type=revision&diff=831262823&oldid=831083803&diffmode=source

The article referenced is clearly critical of TransCanada:

https://www.pressreader.com/canada/vancouver-sun/20171101/281930248243140

Rather than rephrase this critical perspective, you just removed it.
