Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Ophelia.summers! I have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. Thank you for your contributions. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions check out Wikipedia:Questions, or feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or type {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Again, welcome! sonia 21:12, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for removing the watermark on this image. Do you think you could save the new version over the watermarked version? There really is no need to create a new file in this case. After doing this, you can nominate the new file for deletion since it will be a duplicate. Thank you! – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 10:58, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Lia, there's a "upload a new version" link on each file; that would have been more suitable here (omission on my part when showing you the GL; my apologies). If you like I can work through it with you when I see you on Monday, or you can ping me in the meantime if you'd rather do it first. sonia 11:15, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry about that. I did try to replace the image, but got the message: "A file with this name exists already. You can't upload a new version because your account is too new. Please go back and upload the file under a new name. Once you've done that, you can ask someone at the Help desk to move your file to the name you want. " Is there anything else I can do? Hi Ophelia.summers. I'm not fully familiar with what rules are in place for "new users", but let's try this, and we'll hope it works—make sure you have a copy of File:Bolitoglossa_pandi02-2.jpeg (watermark removed) on your computer since you will be re-uploading it):
  1. Go here (this is the image as located at the Commons) and scroll down to the File history section. At the bottom of the section, you should see "Upload a new version of this file". Click on this link.
  2. You should be taken to an upload page. In the Source file section, locate and select the non-watermarked image on your computer.
  3. In file changes, add "Removed watermark (graphic lab request)" or something similar. It just explains what you did, and it doesn't hurt to mention the GL request.
  4. Click "Upload file" at the bottom.
  5. If all this works, then you may proceed: Remove the {{superseded}} tag from the file.
  6. Go to the now-duplicate image and click on the edit tab.
  7. At the top, add {{duplicate|File:Bolitoglossa_pandi02.jpeg}}. Fill out the edit summary, "save page" and you're done!
Let me know if any of these steps don't work for you. (Just reply here.) – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 23:41, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Keraunoscopia. Thank you for the instructions! I hope I did everything right. Please tell me if there's anything else I could do. Ophelia.summers (talk) 05:21, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You did everything perfectly! : ) And thanks for even uploading a better rez image. Hope to see you 'round the graphic lab. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 06:04, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Adventure: Request for feedback on Community Fellowship proposal[edit]

Hi! I'm contacting you because you have participated or discussed The Wikipedia Adventure learning tutorial/game idea. I think you should know about a current Community Fellowship proposal to create the game with some Wikimedia Foundation support. Your feedback on the proposal would be very much appreciated. I should note that the feedback is for the proposal, not the proposer, and even if the Fellowship goes forward it might be undertaken by presently not-mentioned editors. Thanks again for your consideration.

Proposal: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Fellowships/Project_Ideas/The_Wikipedia_Adventure
