Vector images[edit]

You sure some of the colors on those are right? Just looking at the raster vs. vector Pats logo, the vector one seems to have a different shade of blue, one that's less accurate than the vector version. Pats1 T/C 01:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i.e. this. What's up with the black? Pats1 T/C 01:36, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find a source with definitive color information...Do you what the official colors are? In the meantime, I will change the colors on the two SVG's to reflect the previous PNG logos. Opertinicy (talk) 01:39, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eyedrop them from the logos on ChrisCreamer.com; those are also the colors used in all NFL templates. But since you copied from them the logos which came from ChrisCreamer anyway, you're fine. Thanks. Pats1 T/C 04:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just one more thing: The Washington Redskins' logo was re-made as a vector image a little while ago, but the colors (especially the skin), really seem to be off. Can you fix it? Pats1 T/C 02:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out...I uploaded a new version with the colors from sportslogos..let me know if you notice any others with incorrect coloring Opertinicy (talk) 22:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was checking the colors on the Tampa Bay Bucs logo, and they didn't look right. As far as official colors, you might check out this link: http://www.ssur.org/research/TeamColors/Football_Outdoor/NationalFootballLeague/NationalFootballLeague.htm — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.36.156.181 (talk) 18:27, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

VCU[edit]

VCU is fine, IMO. The relevant point is that fully spelling out Virginia Commonwealth University is unnecessary overkill and does not conform with the rest of the template. Not convinced the opinion of the VCU marketing folks should be binding. For example, a few years back George Mason rebranded their athletics to effectively eliminate the "George" from the logo as well as athletic gear and stated that the teams should be referred to as "Mason". This has not stopped outside entities from continuing to refer to the school as "George Mason" or "GMU". Same principle, IMO. Thanks. - Masonpatriot (talk) 02:00, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please correct the name of USC[edit]

I realize it was certainly an innocent mistake, but you uploaded the SVG of the USC seal with the name "University of Southern Cal", which is a pejorative for the university (as noted in the first sentence of the article), is it possible to ask you to re-upload it as "Image:University of Southern California logo.svg"? I tried re-uploading the image with a new file name but my computer keeps wanting to turn the SVG into a PNG and thus I can't upload it as an SVG without getting a corrupt file extension warning. I can delete and extra copies left over. All the best, Bobak (talk) 14:38, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I have re uploaded it with the correct naming. Opertinicy (talk) 21:13, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I appreciate it! :-) --Bobak (talk) 22:55, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for posting the Studio 54 logo. I am not entirely sure if the logo was pink. I thought it was white and black or silver and black. Thanks. 19:49, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

The copy I had was pink, but I too thought it was black. For the purpose of the article, I have changed the logo to black. Thanks. Opertinicy (talk) 16:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've read that various golfers have been the source of the logo (i.e. Ben Hogan), but I think these are just rumors. I don't believe it's modeled after any particular golfer. Opertinicy (talk) 06:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

University of Southern California seal file format[edit]

Opertinicy, can you change the file format for the seal to one of the .png links below the image? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:University_of_Southern_California_seal.svg

The .svg format isn't recognized by some servers (facebook) and the icon image isn't brought into the page like others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rice_University_seal.png

SVG is the preferred format on Wikipedia. The image actually displayed in articles is a PNG rendered from the SVG (for instance, [1]). See the Graphics Lab for more details. Opertinicy (talk) 03:40, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FSU Seal, change to one with real color[edit]

Can you please change the FSU seal to a seal that represents true colors. The garnet is off in curent one. Heres a link to a clean looking one that is right on. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d2/FSU_Seal_P_CMYK.svg/512px-FSU_Seal_P_CMYK.svg.png

Thank you so much —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.42.51.232 (talk) 05:06, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The correct colors, which the vector image is using, are: Garnet: #540115 and Gold: #CDC092. These are the official HEX values of the University's colors.[1] See the talk page.

FSU Seal[edit]

The current FSU seal on wikipedia is being retreived from an out dated source. As a FSU student it is very obvious. Is there anyway you can simply use the one suggested with true colors? Although the colors you state are the actual offical colors of the university, the seal does not use them. Look at this wiki link of the real current seal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FSU_Seal_P_CMYK.svg Note that it was provided by by Sherri Dye, Director, Office of University Trademark Licensing, 225 University Center, Suite C-5100, Tallahassee, FL 32306-2710—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.42.51.232 (talk) 01:52, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The colors are correct, as confirmed by Ms. Dye in an e-mail:
The colors listed on the web design are correct, but the substitution of maroon for black in the seal is not correct...For the purposes of the Wikipedia entry, the web colors should be used.
I have since made the proper corrections for the substitution. Opertinicy (talk) 22:58, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baltimore Ravens logo was removed[edit]

Hi there! I uploaded a newer version of the Ravens logo a few weeks ago, and I just noticed that you removed it and put yours back up. Can you explain why? You mentioned "Please cite the sources for your rationale." Rationale for what? The "Non-free media" and "Fair use rationale" hasn't changed. If you're asking for a rationale for the changes, I thought I made it clear:

"Just some minor corrections: - the gold B should not have a white outline around the entire thing - the shadow inside the B is missing - some of the paths were too jagged - the white around the eye was corrected - the colors were updated to match..."

If you closely compare the logo you uploaded to any high-res version of the logo that can be found online, you can see there are quite a few differences. Additionally, any logo you find on the official Baltimore Ravens website [1] shows these differences as well. My goal was to more accurately represent the official logo. The colors were also taken from the colors of the logo on the official website.

I offer my apologies if uploading a new version of the logo was deemed offensive. It was not my intent to offend your work, rather to simply provide the most accurate logo possible.

Again, please explain to me why a more accurate version of the logo cannot be used.

Thanks!

Miramax Logo Update (and name update)[edit]

Hey there.

I know that you were the user to upload the original Miramax Films logo to their wikipedia page, so I was wondering if you could help me update it to reflect the new company name and logo, which is simply "Miramax".

I am a pretty big fan of films and enjoy hearing about the inside and outside of new and old projects. I also want to be more active on Wikipedia. I noticed that the Miramax page needed to be updated (moved so the page name is just "Miramax" and upload the new logo). I have the latest logo in a png file and I want to upload it, but I'm not sure how to do so without it getting deleted for not properly documenting its source and whatnot. I've read some information on it, but saw that you were the user to upload the original and thought I would ask for your help.

Thanks so much!

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Dodge logo - The Ram logo, used 1993–2010.svg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Dodge logo - The Ram logo, used 1993–2010.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
