All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Homeopathy[edit]

Google suggests that you may be Otto Benfey (Benfey is not a common name). If that is the case then you should declare your conflict of interest, to enable others to properly judge the context of your proposed changes. You should also not edit the Homeopathy article directly, especially against consensus. It seems that some editors on wikipedia choose to interpret wiki policies in a biased way when dealing with certain subjects. Whereas medical doctors are fully allowed to edit on medical subjects, some editors assert that anyone who is involved in certain alternative medicine subjects have a "conflict of interest" when they edit on this subject. Rather than treat them as an expert due to their expertise, they are viewed with total suspicion, even though this same guideline is rarely applied to other subjects. You are under no obligation to say what your real name is, though you can probably guess that some editors will deem you to have a conflict of interest. You seem to have some good knowledge. I myself made a fatal error in editing under my real name...and was deemed to have a "conflict of interest" because I have authored 10 books on a specific alternative medicine (I am even worried about even writing that word).
