A tag has been placed on File:Samba Gumba Mustang.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. January 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sumanuil. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Swayambhunath have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. - Sumanuil. Swayambhu nath is not what the temple is called, this is a post Gorkhali addition, nath...go ask any Newar... I am correcting an imported/ imposed title. You are supporting the colonialist position.
Please check for yourself at https://swoyambhustupa.com. and then feel free to remove all the 'nath's
This is like calling it the Monkey Temple.... Nima t100 (talk) 09:13, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
oh, and while you are at it please amend the wiki entry title to swayambhu, not swayambhunath...
the same applies to Boudha, (not Boudhanath) Nima t100 (talk) 09:18, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have a source? Also, changing file names is hardly "correcting". - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 22:30, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

there is no 'source' per se since these are acts of colonialism.
however, if one refers to all the indigenous sources 'nath' is never used.
hence I shared the swoyambhustupa.com site - which is managed by the Buddhacaryas of swayambhu. you can also see that both the Devanagari: स्वयम्भू स्तूप and Nepal Bhasa: स्वयंभू given in the entry - only say swayamabhu or swayambhu stup. They don't use nath.
anyway, for 'sources' by omission I refer you to Hem Raj Shakya's tome https://shopratnaonline.com/sri-svayambhu-mahacaitya-hemraj-shakya-religious-book/
and any of A V Rospatt's research articles on Swayambhu

none of them use 'nath'
the colonisation is not limited to these gods, we see Seto and Rato Macchendranath, Minnath... actually they have indigenous names; Bunga Dyo, Karunamaya...but the gods have been conflated with Gorakhnath... who was brought by the Gorkhas...

Similarly, Boudhanath - it's indeginous name is Khasti caitya, noone ever says Kastinath
call it what you like if you don't like 'correction'. It's an act of decolonialisation Nima t100 (talk) 05:13, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
