Deletion of Ceres Power page[edit]

On 14th November you deleted the page on Ceres Power. This makes no sense to me, and I ask that you please restore the page. I am currently an employee of this company, and I can assure you it is alive and well. We are a key player in the fuel cell industry, have a world-class product, have recently received an additional funding from investors, and therefore the company deserves to have a Wikipedia page. Logicman1966 (talk) 09:09, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the page in its current state needed some work and was lacking sources, however I only noticed it had been deleted because I was preparing to update it. Without too much difficulty using a Google search, I found the following 12 articles from reliable independent sources -
http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/engineering/ourresearchhome/impactresearch/cerespower

Surely this is more than enough justification for the page to be restored. Can I also suggest that it would have been more appropriate for you to have proposed on the talk page that the article should be deleted, so that other editors had a chance to respond. Logicman1966 (talk) 16:38, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Out of those 12 sources, the only ones that do not look like press releases or the company's own directory pages are numbers 4 and 8. The deleted article had essentially the same issue -- it was a mirror of company press releases: "Ceres partnered with X company; Ceres introduced Y product." Sources 4 and 8 do, however, appear to be at least somewhat independent reports. I have moved the deleted article's last revision to your userspace at User:Logicman1966/Ceres Power, for you to work on there. Because you are a company employee, though, I must caution you very strongly against submitting another article that is promotional in nature. Please read WP:NPOV and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Deletion of Dawn Ali[edit]

I was informed that the Dawn Ali page that I created was deleted. I asked for feedback and yes, I saw your list. I wasn't given any feedback or a chance to even change anything before deletion. So what's up with that? Uh-man-ee (talk) 21:06, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article is purely advertising/promotion for Ms. Ali, whom it claims is a "world renowned weight loss expert" and links to ads for her three self-published diet books. Any article on Ms. Ali would (1) have to be written in neutral, nonpromotional language, see WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV, and more importantly (2) would have to cite independent sources (not Ms. Ali's website or press releases), see WP:V, to show that she meets our notability standards, WP:BIO. Deletion of Evolent Health page[edit]

Hello there. I'd like to understand why you deleted the Evolent Health page. It is a notable subject as the company has been written about in many verifiable third-party sources, of which have been cited/referenced in this article. Can you please clarify the parts of concern and what needs to be rewritten for the page to be reinstated? Thank you. Bda3853 (talk) 21:28, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article was pretty much promotional through and through, written in laudatory language and quoting the principals' glowing statements about the company and its prospects. See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:30, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please provide examples of this? What specific parts need to be rewritten for the page to reinstated? Thank you. Bda3853 (talk) 16:45, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • As I said, it was pretty much the entire article. It started with "the company is transforming the way", and every sentence seemed to be a promotional quote from a company principal. I'm not going to re-quote every line to you. If you can't understand how WP:NPOV applies to this article, you shouldn't be the one writing it. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:51, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question about New User's page[edit]

I'm a teahouse host and I've been helping a new editor. I'm still a bit of a novice myself when it comes to namespaces and the new editor is not technical at all. Before I confuse him I want to make sure I'm understanding. The draft article I'm helping him with is this: Sterndmitri/Znamenie My question is it seems to me as if this article is in the main namespace and should be in the user namespace(?) I notice you moved the page, the second edit in the history and left a comment: "NawlinWiki moved page Sterndmitri/Our lady of the sign to User:Sterndmitri/Our lady of the sign without leaving a redirect) " which sounds to me like you were addressing this problem but I'm not sure why the current path doesn't have "user:" in it and why there is a tag at the bottom of the article which I don't think came from the user (indicating to me the page is already in main space). What I plan to suggest to the user is that he move this article to his sandbox and delete that page which is in the main space but I wanted to double check to make sure I'm not confused here. When I have user pages in addition to my sandbox the path always has "user:" before my name and I assumed that was required to differentiate from the main namespace but I wanted to double check to make sure I don't give the user bad info. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 16:52, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I find your website very difficult to navigate. You have Speedy Deleted my page Citizens for an Independent America CIAPAC. With no way to contact you, since your email address starts with no reply - Our type of organization is NOT on your no no list.

You realize, I hope, that this is a giant catch 22. In order to generate third party articles about our group we need the kind of notoriety that comes with a Wiki listing. We have spent over $400 with Facebook, Google AdWords sending Press Releases and registering with Search engines. Now, when I Google the group, the SECOND LISTING is this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_for_an_Independent_America_CIA-PAC which says you have deleted our page IN THE MIDDLE OF A KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN! Argh! Not the kind of press we are looking for! Help! I look forward to your reply!

Deletion of Studio (TV series)[edit]

I was told I could dispute in the talk page, the tagging of my article Studio (TV series), yet you just went and deleted it with absolutely no discussion or followup to the fact that WP has a number of web only series on the site. This level of arrogance and god like rule is one of the many reasons editors leave. I am extremely upset that the attitudes of WP operators hasn't changed and will be again looking to go else where to a less controlling site. helmboy 21:43, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We only have articles on groups and events that have been shown to be notable (see WP:ORG) by references in reliable, independent sources (see WP:V). Deletion of XebiaLabs article page[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki,

I noticed the deletion of the XebiaLabs page I set up due to "A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events)." I'd like to make the case that XebiaLabs is a significant company and politely request reinstatement. Below is a list of the reasons for this request:

1. The company was founded in 2008 and has over 80 employees. Customers include General Electric and Xerox.

2. XebiaLabs is already listed as an example company on this Wikipedia page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_deployment

(I have no idea when that was added as an entry)

3. XebiaLabs' competitors with Wikipedia pages include:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chef_(company)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThoughtWorks

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppet_Labs

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Cloud

4. XebiaLabs is partners with this company:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CloudBees

5. XebiaLabs' funding history is here:

http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/xebialabs

6. The company recently received $12.5 million in funding from this firm::

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Updata_Partners

(the original XebiaLabs' entry included a cross link to this company)

6. The company's products have been reviewed in both Dr. Dobbs Journal and Network World:

http://www.drdobbs.com/tools/tools-for-finding-the-continuous-deliver/240168750

http://www.drdobbs.com/tools/xl-sized-code-drop-to-user-acceleration/240161731

http://www.networkworld.com/article/2189165/infrastructure-management/manage-software-deployments-across-complex-environments.html

I'm interested in your thoughts. Please let me know when you get a chance. I appreciate your help! Thank you.

Fishbones123 (talk) 20:45, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Of the three sources you listed, the two Dr. Dobbs ones appear to be reprinted press releases for the company. The third is not an article about Xebia, but about another company (KLM) which mentions Xebia in passing. This doesn't satisfy the requirement that a subject itself be reported on in multiple, reliable independent sources, see WP:V. Also, the other factors you mentioned don't satisfy our notability standards for companies, see WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:36, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thank you for your reply. XebiaLabs was written about in the Boston Business Journal here:

http://www.bizjournals.com/boston/blog/startups/2014/06/software-automation-startup-xebialabs-raises-12m.html

The company was listed on the Deloitte Fast 500 at #15:

http://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/global/Documents/Technology-Media-Telecommunications/gx-tmt-emea-f500-2014-ranking.pdf

XebiaLabs CEO's profile is listed on Bloomberg:

http://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/people/18778887-coert-baart

Would these satisfy the requirement? Please let me know if you need any other materials or citations. Thank you!

restore Neotility Service Quality Management[edit]

Hi there. Note also that article was mostly composed of a simple, strict feature list. No marketing or promotional language (award winning, best in class, industry leading) is present in original article. Seems like a snap judgement. Please identify specific concerns re: bias or puffery.

Also a product specific page is required for entries in 'network monitoring comparison' chart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_network_monitoring_systems).

The article you deleted had significantly more content and references than existing entries. For example:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axence_nVision https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munin_(software)

Note that Munin software wasn't snap-deleted but contains less info than the proposed Neo Service Quality Management article. So apply your rules, but apply them evenly across the space.

  • "Dynamic discovery" and "high ability" sound promotional to me. But more importantly, the article cites no references other than the manufacturer's own website, see WP:V. As to the other entries, I've tagged Axence for deletion, but see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:24, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nawlins. Thanks for your fast response. 'Dynamic Discovery' refers to the ability of a software package to identify new guests within a virtualized environment. Try googling it. I would recommend if you are not comfortable in the technical space, you leave edits like this to more tech savvy editors. I kind of feel like you didn't seriously read the article. It's 'high availability'. Did I typo or did you mis-read? That is about as common as Windows and to call it a promotional reference is revealing.

Anyways although I appreciate your additional issues, the original deletion issue was referenced as being for promo/ad reasons. Since this was a mis-understanding of the language used by you, please do the responsible thing and re-initiate the process by restoring the article. Once you have restored it, please then follow the appropriate process to delete and reference the specific (new) deletion reason. While I understand you are now adding new objections, those were not clearly documented initially. Please restore and re-initiate your deletion to ensure proper notation of page issues.

Also - lol "it is important to realize that countering the keep or delete arguments of other people, or dismissing them outright, by simply referring them to this essay by name, and nothing else, is not encouraged." You sure walked in to that one.

Again, the 'speedy deletion' was improperly applied. Note the article was from a neutral point of view, therefore G11 was improperly applied. Please revert:

G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion Shortcut: WP:G11 Main page: Wikipedia:Spam Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. If a subject is notable and the content can be replaced with text that complies with neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion. Note: An article which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion. "Promotion" does not necessarily mean commercial promotion: anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. See Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION for the policy on this.

{{Db-g11}}, {{Db-promo}}, {{Db-spam}}, {{Db-spamuser}}, {{Db-spamuser-sandbox‎}}

  • As I said when I retagged, the list of features is promotional. And I also used the a7 (no assertion of notability) tag. If you want to pursue this further, please go to Wikipedia:Deletion review. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:19, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly don't understand technology lingo, and are now grasping at straws because you got called out. Since you refuse to even discuss your errors or positions, I will pursue.

Could you please offer personal advice for editing the page to sound neutral for Wikipedia standards then? I am not actually being paid to write this and the page was deleted before I had the chance to contend. Any support would help. Dodgetherocks (talk) 08:34, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have read the pages you have linked. You barely gave me an hour to look at the page and try to rectify it better meet Wikipedia standards of neutrality. Even speedy deletions have leeway according to this site's rules. I am asking you how I can go about rewriting it so does not sound promotional. And whether or not I can even try to post it again. Because I cannot even do that without trying to discuss it with you or the deletion board. Please respond when you can on my talk page. Dodgetherocks (talk) 02:39, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Narcis 'Nachos' Radoi[edit]

Hello,

I have noticed you removed the article, I believed that writing academic whitepapers and running the only charity studio in the world would make someone worthy of notability. I was one of the people he helped and I don't see why you removed the article, as it included over 15 references from verifiable sources.

Please let me know when you can

Theonebeat (talk) 22:44, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The references you cited were either Mr. Radoi's own websites or publications, or blog posts. They did not meet our criteria, see WP:RS. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:45, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well most of them are not actually published by him but are added by others to their websites. searching Google for the article that helped people minimise music piracy by 80% and changed the music industry you will find it is posted on various websites that credit the original website publication on Mr. Radoi's website. Deletion of Belairdirect[edit]

Hi, sometime ago you deleted the belairdirect page and cited the reasons as being advertising/promotion. I was a little confused as to why this was done as my user page clearly stated that I was creating the page on behalf of the company and looking for guidance/assistance in creating a neutral, informative entry for the company. You can see my disclaimer on my user page. belairdirect is one of the largest casual and property insurers in Canada. We have a wide range of industry and news coverage and it just seems an obvious candidate to me for a dedicated wiki article. Would love some insights as to how I can help facilitate this. Thanks!

  • Hi, not sure if you missed this but I noticed you responded to a few other comments. Any chance I could get a response this? Thanks! belairdirect-Grey Power (talk) 12:24, 30 December 2014 (EST)
  • I deleted a Belairdirect page in 2010 because it was written in promotional language, see WP:SPAM. There is no bar to recreating the article, but it needs to be based on reliable, independent sources, see WP:V, which does not include the company's own pages or PR releases. The article then needs to show, through those sources, that the company is notable per our guidelines, WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:30, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who in the hell have you been pissing off lately? North Korea?? I came here by accident and happened to notice your history and the oversights and deletions and reverts... Where are you dabbling? Need help? LOL :) Dusti*Let's talk!* 07:07, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

-- Kim Jong Eu? Really? And you're editing Wiki articles?! LOL.

Prod check[edit]

Just checking there's not a Twitter-style date bug in a script somewhere - you just deleted LISFF- Lakecity International Short Film Festival as an expired prod, but I prodded it less than an hour ago. I assume it was a misclick and the article wasn't worth keeping anyway, but thought I'd better check... --McGeddon (talk) 18:49, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, my mistake, you speedied it in addition to saying the prod had expired. No problem. --McGeddon (talk) 18:55, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

AVRS Deletion[edit]

For some reason it states that you deleted the AVRS page that was created. Can you describe to me what I need to do to change the material to make it work for Wikipedia. I am new to this and would love some guidance from a professional as your self. I feel the page talks about the company rather than promotes it but please let me know how I can change it and get it back up. Thank you for your time in advance. bryn.howlett 20:07, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

  • First, you need to avoid language like "delivered a new, simple and fast solution", which is promotional. Second, you need to cite reliable independent sources (see WP:V) to show that the company is notable per our standards, WP:CORP. The company's own website and press releases are not independent sources. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:32, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok thank you very much, can I work on this and make the changes and then what do I do. Should I message you here and you can check it and do you un-delete it or how does that work if I get it right. This page is not to promote anything so whatever you say we will remove and change. The purpose of this page is mainly trying to put more information on the new DMV laws and changes that go on in California eventually. The plan is to create a BPA page which doesn't exist yet along with explain what a First Line Provider is etc. This is just a starting point. Any ideas on creating better quality content for our future goals please let me know and I will comment back here when I have fixed the terminology and references to fit the proper standards. Thank you for your time. bryn.howlett 23:12, 29 December 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bryn.howlett (talkcontribs)
    • I see that you have a draft of the page in your sandbox. Let me know when you've revised it and I'll take another look. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:05, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok working on it today and should have something tomorrow. I wanted to ask, do you think I can get it to be good enough or is a company like this not fitting for Wikipedia. There is no intention to promote. The Netcom Wiki article referenced to is connected to this company through the CEO which sparked the idea to have a Wiki page for AVRS. If you would want to write it that would be really helpful but I am sure you are busy so I will still take a stab. Please just work with me and if you feel at any point that this is not possible to put on Wikipedia please let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.226.244.162 (talk) 22:39, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Virgin Flight 43[edit]

Virgin Flight 43 Emergency Landing meets the 'event' requirement for A7, please reinstate the article. People look to wikipedia for unbiased just-the-facts content for current events around the world. This is one although maybe you don't care for it. As time passes it's likely that this article will grow to include links to the AAIB report for the incident. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.96.71.4 (talk) 08:59, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
For cleaning up behind Ryan kirkpatrick. He created three articles today. Ryan has been told about the Standard Offer but has refused to go that route. I said I'd support him for reinstatement if he took a break. He ignored that offer of mine at least twice and with his continued socking, I won't support him anymore. ...William 01:20, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Girl Develop It[edit]

Late yesterday, you deleted the page Girl Develop It under the grounds that it was an organization without clear statement of why the subject was significant. I was hoping to get some clarification on that, as it seemed to make sense to me why a group working towards the advancement of women was significant. Either way, I was hoping to at least retrieve the deleted material to try and edit it or just use it for a reference in the future. The page said to contact the deleting admin, and I wasn't sure how to do that besides posting here. Anyways, thank you for your understanding and I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
