Ugh?[edit]

Why "Ontario (ugh)"? Sure, the premier is a dick (struck out per BLP, heh heh --NE2 16:31, 24 October 2007 (UTC)) but it isn't that bad. vıdıoman (talkcontribs) 14:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nah, it's the state of the articles - the tone they're often written in, the articles that should be merged (such as the different pieces of Yonge Street), and the fact that half the time I try to fix anything I get reverted - that makes me put them at the bottom so I don't have to deal with them. --NE2 16:31, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BLP? That statement is fact! :D Also, those aren't piece of Young Street. Rather, they and Young Street are pieces of Highway 11. vıdıoman (talkcontribs) 17:10, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm talking about articles like York Regional Road 1, York Regional Road 51, and Simcoe County Road 4. --NE2 17:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They aren't Yonge Street anymore. They just call them that. Sort of like how Highway 11/17 is called the Terry Fox Courage Highway in the Lakehead. Yonge Street was dissolved in large parts in 1998, and fractured into what it is today. vıdıoman (talkcontribs) 17:44, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? Highway 11 was truncated, but those regional/county roads are part of Yonge Street. --NE2 17:54, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not the Yonge Street of Toronto, though. Yonge Street of Toronto ends at Steeles Avenue. Then Yonge Street of York begins. The responsibility is at the upper municipal level, so even though the name stay the same, they are technically two streets that merge into each other. vıdıoman (talkcontribs) 18:46, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yonge Street is about the entire road. --NE2 18:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but there are part of the road that have to be discussed. The main Yonge Street article doesn't go into too much detail about the Simcoe portion, and York RR 51 is a branch off, not Yonge itself. The only article that would warrant merging is York RR 1, and it's quite comprehensive and if merged, would probably warrant separation. They should just be left alone. And if you do want to merge them, it would be better to start a discussion on the talk page first. vıdıoman (talkcontribs) 19:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The main article should go into more detail. This is not the main issue though; the Ontario articles are horrible in general, and I don't care to fix them. --NE2 19:23, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
