Help Request[edit]

{{help}}

SO how am I doing so far?? Also how can I get this up to a rated B-class on the quality scale, thats what I think it should be. I tell the members from the The Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Historical Society to go over the page to look for anything thats not right. Im doing it as time let me , alot more info is coming to the page. Will I ever get it done? N2icv (talk) 10:39, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I've moved your help request from Talk:Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines - please just use the helpme feature here, on your own talk page.
The most important thing that the article needs is inline citations. All of the facts should be supported by verifiable references to reliable sources. For help on how to do this, have a look at my own guide in user:chzz/ref.
The 'wikify' tag means that some parts need fixing to wikipedia style;
  • Section headings should not be in ''italics'', and they should only have a capital letter at the beginning
  • The 'History' section only contains a link to another article - this oes not require its own section
  • The section called "Pennsylvania Railroad / Penn Central lines" contains too many large images which make the text awkward to read - try using [[file:filename.jpg|thumb]]
  • Some terms are linked many times - for example, West Jersey Railroad. Wikilinks should only be on the first occurrence of the word within a section.
A lot of the links are redirects. For example, The Westville Cutoff is a redirect link to the article called "Westville Cutoff". This can be fixed by using the syntax, [[Westville Cutoff|The Westville Cutoff]] - this links the words "The Westville Cutoff" to the article named "Westville Cutoff" - it looks like this; The Westville Cutoff. For more on that, see WP:LINKING.
In the section "Pennsylvania Railroad / Penn Central lines", each line should really be a subheading, followed by a 'see main article' template. The code for this would be, for example;
=== Camden and Atlantic ===

{{main|Camden and Atlantic}}

This railroad was granted its charter by the state of New Jersey on March 19, 1852. The line was...
This would appear as;

Camden and Atlantic[edit]

This railroad was granted its charter by the state of New Jersey on March 19, 1852. The line was...

I hope that this has given you some ideas. The bad news is, nothing on Wikipedia is ever 'finished'. The good news is, there's plenty of help available. Some guides;
Please - try to improve the article, using the ideas above. If you get stuck, please ask for help;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  11:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The links in the welcome form letter above are probably less grumpy than I am In any case, the table of contents is automatically generated when you have enough headings (==foo==). --NE2 23:26, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, more than 3 sections.  Chzz  ►  23:53, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

The 'cite book' thing is here.

Remember;

First time you cite something;

Proposed deletion of List of Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines passenger trains[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines passenger trains, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a place for indiscriminate statistics. While this is doubtless true, are these trains notable in some way?

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Please read Wikipedia:External links, and only add directly relevant and high quality links. Thank you. --NE2 01:32, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:PRSL TT Jun 1934 Jun.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:PRSL TT Jun 1934 Jun.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 10:43, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at WikiProject New Jersey[edit]

Hi, N2icv, User:Nightscream and I had a disagreement over certain parts of NJ municipality articles; because the discussion could potentially affect hundreds of articles, we decided to bring the discussion to WikiProject New Jersey. I would value your input in the discussion, which you can find here. Thanks, A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 15:36, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:P&R RY logo.gif needs authorship information[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:P&R RY logo.gif appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|N2icv}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:37, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
