Carbon monoxide‎ molecular orbitals[edit]

I undid this edit of yours because it appears to contradict the image. I see constructive overlap between the two atoms, not an antibonding node. That's consistent with the Explanation of the structure explanation (linked at the bottom of that article). What is your basis for calling this σ* rather than σ? @DMacks: I have these from following book: Holleman-Wiberg, Inorganic Chemistry, AP, 2001, p. 1558. Wiberg descibes the HOMO as an antibonding MO (σs*). Regards, --Muskid (talk) 09:27, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
