DYK for Max Henry Ferrars[edit]

On 5 January 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Max Henry Ferrars, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that British colonial officer Max Henry Ferrars took hundreds of pictures of Burmese life and customs in the late 19th century, such as two men playing the Burmese version of chess (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Max Henry Ferrars. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Max Henry Ferrars), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Your GA nomination of Photography of Sudan[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Photography of Sudan you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Images[edit]

Hello, it's an interesting article you've nominated, but it might need some work before it reaches GA, I'll post some comments soon. Sorry for moving the the images with the template. How about this instead - a group of multiple images and a smaller template (like the one used in Music of Denmark)? The images make a coherent group that can be placed either within the lead section or (more sensibly perhaps, as they don't actually represent Sudanese photography from the earliest period through to modern times) to the first section of the text. The template could lose its little flag and/or be moved to anywhere in the article, but I think it would be useful to keep. Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 20:35, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(clockwise) Sudanese soldiers in the Egyptian army, 1899; Nicola Leontides, the Greek consul in Sudan (1882 by French diplomat Louis Vossion); Sudanese woman with scarifications (Frank and Frances Carpenter Collection, unknown photographer, between 1890 and 1923); Anglo-Egyptian Sudanese camel soldier (Frank G. Carpenter, early 20th century).
Amitchell125 (talk) Thanks for this, I tried which layout seems best, and decided to rather delete one of the photos.

Thanks for your feedback and the sweets!😀 I appreciate your remarks about the sources, that are not always easy to find in English for topics in a country like Sudan, with few reliable sources. Munfarid1 (talk) 05:39, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some baklava for you![edit]

Hi I’ve just reviewed Aswat Almadina. Thanks very much for creating this with good sources. Happy editing! Mccapra (talk) 04:05, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Mccapra (talk), I appreciate your feedback, especially as it is not easy to find reliable sources for articles about modern culture in Sudan. - And since you are interested in music of Sudan, maybe you also want to review my latest article on Sharhabil Ahmed?
