Winhunter's RfA thanks[edit]

Hi Mr._Lefty, thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which was closed as successful today with a finaly tally of (56/0/3). I will be very careful at first to avoid any mistakes. Please feel free to leave a message in my talk page if you have any comments/suggestions about me in the future. Once again, thank you! --WinHunter (talk) 09:06, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for blocking this guy, but could you also delete those images he uploaded? Their only purpose was vandalism, and they're probably imagevios anyway. Thanks, --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 19:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They're deleted now. I would have deleted them right away, but they were a bit risque, and I'm in a public facility. Thanks, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Common name usage in Bufo genus[edit]

Sorry I changed your move! I thought I had just created it under the common name by accident. If this is the policy, why are other articles such as Woodhouse's Toad, Asian Giant Toad, Great Plains Toad, etc. not in this format? RxKaffee 02:40, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Still, what exactly did you not agree with in my tone? If you saw a comment that said something about licking balls, that would be his doing. If it was something else, then blame the test templates. :) --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 02:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

sex[edit]

i noticed youre change to the sex template i craeted, thank you very much for helping out, but i think all the STDs should be mentioned, personally, but for the sake of simplicity i changed it back, but i put in Hepatitus (main ) and then Types: A-B-C-D-E-G and just click on the letter, i hoep you don't change it back, i was wondering what you think. and id also love it if you could help out by adding some more paraphilias (sexual fetishes) to the list or anything else, and your general input would be great.! thanks Qrc2006 00:28, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ok cool, thanks for the advice, i think ill try and do more than one at a time, but since its a box and its tricky, doing too much might be haphazard since just one charicter off can ruin the whole thing and it takes forever to find it, i know the edit history gets clogged up tho, but i mean thats what its there for right. as for the compromise im glad you approve, yay everyones happy. ok good point about the pariphalae but also even tho there probably one for everything, not all of them have articles or books written about them, ill look em up and throw in the most common ones, maybe include a link to the category on pariphalaeQrc2006 00:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

what would you say if i split it into a STD template, sexual orientation box, Pariphalae box (for the ones that end in -philia, a fetish box for the rest, a body parts and fluids box, etc? Qrc2006 01:07, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

and then maybe one that has a link to each sex related box?Qrc2006 01:07, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

or is one big one the way to go?Qrc2006 01:08, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

oh dude i dont, hahah i dont even follow a lot of your advice or try to find a way around it, but yeah i like to collaberate sometimes haha. but yeah if your interested ill give ya the urls of the finished productsQrc2006 01:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask you to revisit the redirects for deletions page and reconsider your opinion? I am the essay's creator and principal contributor and I support the deletion: a consensus of editors at Wikipedia talk:No angry mastodons prefers WP:MASTODONS and WP:MASTODON, both of which convey more of the spirit of the page. Toilet Law[edit]

This is absurd. Wikipedia's coverage of law is lacking. Why is big law defined yet small law is not defined at all. XOXO, vault, and jdjive which most members of the legal community read is totally ignored on wikipedia. I added Martindale Hubbel peer review which was also lacking. Most members of the legal community are familiar with toilet law--especially in New York and New Jersey where so many are prevalent. It's hard to believe that Wikipedia supports the dearth of information provided for the legal community and practice areas. Also the article about PIP was rediculous and so obviously wrong. Any toilet lawyer could tell you that. But I see noone even trying to edit this. Are any of the people who proposed deleting this even lawyers? I saw one law student and can only say that law students know absolutely nothing about the law.

Re:My RfA review[edit]

If you want to go for a self-nom (or ask someone else who will do one faster) go ahead. I am pretty busy in real life at the moment, and can't really be spending much time on Wikipedia, so I can't really give much indication as to how much longer I'd take. If you want to be patient, I will get around to it 'sometime'! Petros471 08:46, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Luna image[edit]

The uncopyrighted fair use image from a video game screenshot was taken by a friend of mine using a screen capture program from his copy of the game the screenshot is from. Then with full permission from him (in fact it was done made with this purpose in mind) I then edited the image slightly (cropped out black around the corners) and then added to the associated category for images. There's no reason to take it down whatsoever, the image was created with the sole purpose of being added to the wikipedia Lunar_The_Silver_Star page.

Update on KarlBunker[edit]

Here\'s what I did so far:

  • I\'ve removed the POV-ish unsourced statment disproving telepathy.
  • Karl reverted my edit.
  • He responded to my comment at Talk:Telepathy, saying that I\'m \"wrong\". At this point, I could tell he thinks he can control the article.
  • I\'ve replied warning him to eaither co-oporate, or I\'ll be forced to take it to ArbCom

If such a step is needed I would like to invite you to the discussion, and voice yourf opinion on this matter. Thanks agian. (it appears my proxy software adds slashes to qoutes, just in case you we\'re wondering). -- Selmo (talk) 18:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

another question[edit]

I suppose you are getting sick of me asking questins, but i would like to ask one more thing about the signatures: how do you make the backgrounds of the signatures change? i can change the color of the actual text, but the background i have no idea. please help me. cheers, Mr_Webby

hey[edit]

i tried that code with my signature, but it didnt work. do you know another way?

Hey again Mr. Lefty, In WP:ARCHIVE under the sub-heading Cut and Paste procedure, under Instruction 2 I think, It says something like this:

  • Copy the text onto your clipboard.

Telepathy update[edit]

Another user jumped in, and immediately made the bad faith assumption that I was POV pushing. After I tried to rationalize my action in deleting a POV-ish sentence, he told me not to "insult our intelligence". I did feel that "do you need a citation that reproduction is a scientific hallmark?" as an insult to my intelligence, because I think most people who are reading the article have a good understanding on how Science works. See Talk:Telepathy. The article is currently locked. I'll probably request an activate, because it's swiftly turning into a heated debate. -- Selmo (talk) 02:24, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

September Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.

Sockpuppets[edit]

Hello. I have a question for you (I figure that you are an expert now that you have been promoted - congratulations by the way). If I suspect that a newly created user is a sock of a user who has recently been blocked for 3RR, what action should I take? No block evasion took place, but the new user made the same reverts on the article as the user who was previously blocked. Should a "suspected sock" template be posted or just ignore it? For anyone involved in the article, it should be pretty obvious that it is a sock, I think. Feel free to ask for more info, if that helps with your answer. Thanks. --After Midnight 0001 23:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your prompt response. There is no urgent need, so I'll just post to WP:SSP. The user just pops in once and a while and only disrupts one particular article and is usually very quickly reverted. --After Midnight 0001 00:08, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for my daughter's vandalism. She is only seven, and was using the computer with me. I was taking a call and that's probably when she was "editing." Again, I am so sorry.
