Johor GAN

Hi Molecule Extraction, I noticed that you've put Johor up for a GAN after putting a lot of work into it. I am unsure if I have time to do a full review, but I thought it might be worth bringing my immediate thoughts to your attention. In the lead there are two references used only there, which brings into question whether it is included in the body, as it should per WP:LEAD. Regarding WP:LAYOUT, I feel there are a huge amount of very small sections. Many sections in this article are single short paragraphs, and the overall Table of Contents is longer than my screen. There are also a few paragraphs scattered throughout which are only one or two lines. Consider reorganising/combing sections to create a clearer structure where the prose is much less interrupted. Regarding WP:MOSIMAGES, this article in places has far too many, with images sandwiching the text. Furthermore, there are a few images with hardcoded pixel sizes which aren't necessary. One source appears to be missing.

Now, this all sounds very negative, but I'm not negative on this, I like the article. You've managed to keep it succinct and within WP:SIZE, which in my experience is often an issue for similar articles. What I've read seems well written, and there are many well-formatted sources. A good nomination, from what I can see. Happy to help further. CMD (talk) 09:33, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

@Chipmunkdavis: Hi there! Thanks for the comment, actually I did wrote the article with less paragraph to meet the GA requirement (except for the cuisine and holidays part that I want to expand in the nearest future after taking a wikibreak) as you can see here but other editors seems much more liking to divide the article further into several more section. I'm also recently surprised to see its present condition (now that makes another lot work to do!) just before the first general fixes you made. Someone also has suggesting several improvement there, will check the article further soon since I'm still on my wikibreak! Molecule Extraction (talk) 08:20, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
In my experience, articles trend towards getting larger and more divided over time, for the understandable reason that people like adding stuff to Wikipedia. Happens even on FAs. They key to higher quality articles is to manage this process. Usually there's a more appropriate article for much information. I hope you enjoy your wikibreak, I'll keep an eye on Johor as well, and try and make more fixes! CMD (talk) 11:08, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

Malaysia Football National Team

Hi Molecule Extraction, Can I ask to help me to revert the Malaysia National Football Team Current Squad? Someone vandalized by replaced the Main Team Squad to the U23 Squad. I try to revert, but it's seems this person made it so difficult to revert. Please help Junhao1997 (talk) 06:42, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

@Junhao1997: Hi! Did you mean the current squad in Malaysia national football team article? So far I see it is not a vandalism since the way he changed Dominic Tan club into Police Tero F.C. is also supported by a source from Fox Sports Malaysia. Molecule Extraction (talk) 04:40, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

I want to ask your permission to replace our page logo at Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku because it seems so very beauty and not to being Vandalisme. Sorry, I am not like that man. However , if our permission acceptable, so thanks. Starsabah2019 (talk) 09:17, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

@Starsabah2019: Hi! Are you one of the party officials? Sure you can reupload it back in the Malay Wikipedia. The file is currently unable to be uploaded into Wikimedia Commons for the use of different Wikis but if you can produce any letter screenshot or email from the party granting the permission for it to be used under free license, then the file can be moved into Wikimedia Commons. Disambiguation link notification for October 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Perak, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Groundnut (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Perak

few suggestion for reviewing GA for Perak: (you can refer to Shanghai and Yunnan as sample)

  • Lead section - no problem
  • History, should keep one section 5 paragraphs, other should summarize or create a new page for history
  • Geograohy, first say about location, area, neighbouring state, terrain, main hills, waterway, river, lake, island, geology (waterfall, limestone cave), natural resource (flora and fauna (Royal Belum), mining, hydropower), climate, environment issues like air pollution
  • State administration issues and subsequent 2009 constitutional crisis section I think should remove cuz already happen long time a go, maybe should shift to new page called politics of Perak
  • Economy should do three level of industry, and listing finance, manufactureing, tourism (simple only, about biological one should in Geography section, this focus at tourists and MICE, international event), industry area
  • Demography-population, density, foreigners, life expectancy, TFR
    • Ethnicity
    • Religion
    • Language
  • Transportation
    • Road network
    • Public transport (Taxi)
    • Air network
    • Railway (Depot at Batu Gajah one can describe)
    • Sea and water transport (Lumut port, international cruise)
    • Education (vernercular system)
      • Science Institution in Perak
  • Infrastructure (Public utility like water and TNB, city planning(like housing style from Kg to terrace or gomen condo), sanitary, healthcare, social security, public media (press, newspaper, television and radio, sport (football, basketball, sport games)))
  • Culture (museum, library, Cuisine (night market or local fruit), novels and literature, art, drama, movie and cinema (popular culture, take place record), fashion, cultural activity (like JB got parade, but Perak also have Pangkor Island festival etc), cityscape and architecture (Ipoh, Taiping, Kampar))
  • Notable residence
  • International relation

angys (Talk Talk) 13:23, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

@*angys*: 555. I can expand the other section especially for the economic section but this may cost a lot more time to go since I will be very busy (in real life) the following months with my jobs, so I don't promise I can do in the shortest time. Aside from this, I am worried also on the increasing article size if we add a few more paragraphs since you even said in the article edit summary that your phone getting more "lag" when adding more section on the article. About the "political section", unless someone (any of those open-minded editors especially from Perak) have a wide range of knowledge on the situation of their politics and willing to use his/her available time to create a full description article of "Politics of Perak" like the contents in the History of Sarawak then it can be placed there. But for now from what we sees since the last few years, there seems no editors from West Malaysia willing to write a long article other than Orhangzi who spent much of his time on sultanates history articles and his native state of Pahang.. The others seems more liken to do "hit and run" task by writing short (what the Malaysian called as) "cincai" article and leave in the hope others will work more on the topics. Actually there is no problem to me if they want to create more new section article but make sure it's content is also longer...as of now I don't think there is someone from the Malay Peninsula willing to sacrifice his time for this. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Minor copyvio

Hi! I hope you're doing well. I found a small instance of copyvio in North Borneo dispute, specifically to this edit. It's extremely minor, but I wanted to remind you to put even phrases in quotes that you copy from your sources. I removed the end phrase for you; my wordsmithing abilities are really terrible. If you want to reword the phrase, feel free! Kind regards, Sennecaster (talk) 19:58, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
