Welcome! (We can't say that loudly enough!)[edit]

Here are a few links you might find helpful:

You can sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

We're so glad you're here! --Confiteordeo 17:07, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS- I noticed your question about marking unsigned messages. There are several different templates you can use, but the simplest is {{subst:unsigned|user name|date}}. You can check out the Template:Unsigned page for more information. Again, welcome!

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. Just a quick heads up on how things work around here. Please, under all circumstances, abstain from commentary directed at other editors. On the US talk page you left these comments:

Both statements are inappropriate for Wikipedia as they are directed at your fellow editors. So please comment on the issue, not the editors! I am a liberal who quite frankly disagrees with most of the views and assumptions you expressed on the page, but would never direct any commentary at you personally. We all have different opinions and ideas. So please let's keep it civil and not comment on each other. Best Regards, Signaturebrendel 08:26, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the suggestions you left on my talk page would work. BTW: leave comments at the bottom of talk pages, that's where other users will look for new comments. Signaturebrendel 01:50, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images in signature[edit]

Hi, sorry to bother you for this but images on signatures are not permitted. click on my preferences and below the signature box you'll see the disclaimer;

--((F3rn4nd0 ))(BLA BLA BLA) 15:08, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you are still using an image in your signature. Please read WP:SIG#Images and remove the image. The fact that "other wikipedians have images in their signatures"[1] is irrelevant; they must remove them as well. - auburnpilot talk 01:43, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since you are ignoring requests for the image to be removed and continue to sign pages, you now have two options: 1) Remove the image from your signature and continue to edit Wikipedia as you have, or 2) I will block your account from editing until the image is removed from your signature. Please let me know on my talk page which option you prefer. - auburnpilot talk 07:48, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

March 2007[edit]

Thank you for experimenting with the page United States dollar on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. --Orange Mike 20:16, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits to United States dollar[edit]

1) It is destructive to add extra text to the template. By definition, the "pegged to" line in the article for United States Dollar means that these are currencies pegged to the United States dollar; there is no reason to clutter the box up by inserting the name of the currency the entire article is about 2) The yuan is NOT pegged to the United States dollar. The current Chinese government doesn't let the yuan float much vs. the US$; but that is not the same as "pegged to". I am reverting these changes; please do not put this material in again without a strong, referenced justification for doing so, posted to the article's talk page. --Orange Mike 20:22, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A very big point: you had PEGGED TO, not PEGGED BY. Those two are not the same. Chiss Boy 20:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You account has been indefinitely blocked from editing for refusing to remove the image from your signature. This is non-negotiable. When you have removed the image from your signature, you may place {{unblock}} on this page and another admin will be around shortly to remove the block. Thanks, - auburnpilot talk 05:43, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cylon gender[edit]

Just reverted one of your edits to the Battlestar Galactica page - we are in a discussion on the Talk page right now about how this should be worded - would welcome your opinion there. Thanks. -- Alucard (Dr.) | Talk 21:50, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

East asia[edit]

Hi there, on the page East Asia you claimed that the definition of east asia which includes southeast asia wasn't included..I thought it was...but I might be thinking of something else lol. I meant where it said:

"In infrequent circumstances, the term East Asia is purposefully used to include all countries in Southeast Asia, especially when used in dualism with the term West Asia, the latter of which is then used to include those regions commonly considered West Asia, Central Asia, and Southwest Asia."

I think you should have just elaborated on the existing bit about alternate definitions of east asia rather than making a new section. or I guess move the existing info. to a new section. however it is not the most commonly used, rather just one of the ways to use the term.

edit: I just updated it, do you still have a problem with the wording? get back to me, thanks! Liliesofthemist 15:12, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Socialism vs. Fascism[edit]

On the North American Union page you wrote:

"And the United States will be surrounded by poor socialists. Chiss Boy 13:29, 24 March 2007 (UTC)"

I think you might want to read the actual defenitions of governmental types so you might better understand what you wrote:

Fascism: "...the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, corporatism, collectivism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, racism and opposition to economic and political liberalism." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

Socialism (Social Democracy): "...social democracy aims to reform capitalism in order to remove its perceived injustices" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Democracy

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
