Fake Administrator

Here is yet another fake administator. To hell with him, I am going to bed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiggalama (talkcontribs) 05:44, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

"feeling harassed"

Recommend getting a bit more experience before commenting on ANI threads, particularly because there are no legal threats, no personal attacks and both Nancy and Pedro are administrators. Ironholds (talk) 08:12, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

And my advice would be avoid ANI as much as possible! It's a bit of a drama show quite a lot of the time! :o) GedUK  11:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
OK, thanks for the advice mates. It would be interesting to have a look at ANI for any recent news, but you both are right. I'll try and stay away from editing it as much as possible. I didn't know that Nancy and Pedro are administrators because I couldn't see any bit of their user pages which show that they are administrators, not even on the user-boxes. Minimac94 (talk) 15:07, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
LOL. Not even the userbox which says "This user has been an admin for 1 year, 10 months and 1 day". And the link to my WP:RFA. And the several administrator categories my userpage is in. And the admin logo in the top right corner. Are you sure you were checking the right userpage? Seriously though, not all admins leave so many clues on their userpage (and they have no obligation to) so the best way of checing any user's credentials is via Special:ListUsers - just type the users name in the box, click "go" and if they are an admin their name will have (adminstrator) after it see [1]. All best, Nancy talk 18:56, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

I've gone ahead and granted you WP:ROLLBACK. Please take a moment to read the relevant page. Remember, Rollback is only for obvious cases of vandalism - everything else should be marked as a test edit or a more specific edit summary. And try giving some warnings to the users you revert. ~ Amory (utc) 22:17, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Ok, Amory. I will try and add warnings on their talk pages, not just fix articles. Thanks for your good advice. Minimac94 (talk) 04:45, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Reversion of e

Excuse me? Do you feel that User:Minimac94's edit of adding 10,000 digits to an encyclopedia article was justified? What article puts 10,000 digits on it? Not even Pi has that many digits displayed. I have reverted your edit as User:Minimac94 has a history of vandalism, not me. Please do not make me recommend them to remove your rollback (as this is completely unjustified). I found your 'canned message' extremely offensive as I am not new to wikipedia, nor am I 'testing' around. I was way more constructive than what you reverted to ever will be. 76.197.130.49 (talk) 06:37, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you that Minimac's rollback was probably not justified, but please don't go overboard in your response to him. Justifying your edit is enough. Thanks. Ginsengbomb (talk) 06:42, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
And to Minimac94- definitely be careful with your rollbacks. The anon here was clearly trying to fix the article. I have accidentally/inadvertently rolled back and given canned warnings to perfectly well-intentioned editors myself, so I'm not preaching from some pulpit of perfection here, but just make sure you're careful with rollbacking. It's a powerful tool. Thanks :). Ginsengbomb (talk) 06:46, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh dear, why have I done that? OK, I apologise for my reverting mistake, maybe because I had a bad sleep last night. I will remove the message I displayed on your talk page. I looked at the history and the user who put 10000 digits was Going3killu (was 20 before). I'll probably blame him for that, as rounding e to 20 digits is more appropriate. Minimac94 (talk) 06:49, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
I replaced the warning with a welcome. Please be careful with rollback since it is only to be used when reverting clear vandalism. I would not even rollback the misguided editor who put a 10,000-digit value of e into the lead; instead I would undo and add something like "unhelpful" to the edit summary. When you do make a mistake, you should immediately remove any incorrect warnings you have given. I speak as somewhat of an expert here because I too have made blunders when reverting users. Johnuniq (talk) 23:46, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

If I may opine, I would suggest avoiding Huggle for a while until you become comfortable with the rollback tool. If you can force yourself to think over each revert, then good. You can also try WP:TWINKLE as an alternative - slower, but gives you more options in addition to Rollback. ~ Amory (utc) 18:11, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. Ditto. Ginsengbomb (talk) 18:34, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
I have tried twinkle a few days ago but I'm not comfortable with it for two reasons:
  • It's more complicated
  • As Amory said, it's slower and I like quick reversion.
I've decided to download Huggle now. Minimac94 (talk) 17:53, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Stop using huggle

It's annoying, lol. My edits aren't constructive, btw, they're vandalism. 76.212.0.242 (talk) 08:24, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for reverting the vandalism to my user page! MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 08:36, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Heh, I'm pleased I did that. You're welcome for it. Minimac94 (talk) 08:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Just for future reference, this has already been fixed. You left a warning on User talk:TheyCallMeJack about page blanking. They were within guidelines to blank the page. As the author and only significant contributor the blanking is considered a request for deletion and should have been tagged as {{db-blanked}} rather than reverting and warning. If you have any questions let me know. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

OK, Thanks for the notice, I'm sorry about that. I must not get too involved to those talk pages, a target which I'm currently setting at the moment! Minimac94 (talk) 15:51, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

Hey, I am sorry about the edit I made earlier, I mistakenly rollbacked another person's edit when I meant another. Zuzzerack (talk) 15:04, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

You rolled back my edits to the Mark Lloyd page. You then sent me the following note as to why: "The recent edit that you made to the page Mark Lloyd has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive."

I linked to video of his speaking, and to a newspaper article where he is quoted verbatim. How is this "unconstructive"?

I looked at the history box and how many edits did I revert? It was 6. Oops! What made me revert was that when I saw the word "gays" I thought "Hang on a minute" and pressed the revert button. Thanks for notifying me about this. I have undone the action for you just to let you know. Minimac94 (talk) 20:03, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Excellent. Most appreciated. Ho ho ho.

Old Delhi

That's not any old vandalism, but a blatant copyright violation from http://haryanatourism.com/cuisine.asp. He should be blocked if he does it again. --Kbh3rdtalk 06:03, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the point. Well, I don't know how to block him because I'm only a rollbacker, but I do use huggle. Minimac94 (talk) 06:07, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
You would need the sysop flag to do any blocking, but you could report him to WP:AIV for administrators to block if needed. Huggle should automatically escalate it for you and automatically submit a report if the last warning the user received has a level 4 or 4im. Netalarmhappy holidays! 06:09, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Rugby edits

Would you please stop removing my edits for Guinness Premiership rugby sides, I am correcting the Elite squads listed as most are incorrect, you can see here http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/english/8138317.stm.

It is not vandalism. I find that it is no longer relevant to include players coming in or out at this stage of the season. --84.92.146.170 (talk) 13:58, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

  • Your actually an idiot if you think this is vandalism --84.92.146.170 (talk) 14:11, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I am an idiot and you're right. I'm sorry about that. I had a bad night's sleep last night so my head is not concentrating as much as it should be. What my head is thinking at the moment is that unnecessary removal of content without explaining in the edit summary would be a revert. But yeah, I can understand where you're going with this. I don't know why this is vandalism either; Although I would consider creating an account so that you won't meet those irrelevant edits ever again, especially if this is a shared I.P. and you didn't make the edit. I only focus on I.P. edits and not logged-in user's edits. Minimac94 (talk) 14:22, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Minimac, if ever in the future you feel you are not able to concentrate properly, may be it would be a good idea for you to leave off the new page patrol until you are thinking clearly again. This will hopefully avoid the mistaken rollbacks of good edits that you seem prone to. Best, Nancy talk 14:20, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

You beat me to it on that one. Good job.(MDesjardinss (talk) 18:27, 24 December 2009 (UTC))

Many thanks for the rolling back the vandalism on my user page by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:60.242.62.54 I get it that the sock puppet may never be identified, but regardless, thank you. DDB (talk) 04:54, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Heh, no problem at all. I was quite lucky to be the remaining rollbacker left to work on Christmas Eve, as everyone else must have gone outside. I have not realised at all that Christmas Eve is such a busy day. Minimac94 (talk) 05:04, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Page blank.

Actually, I think he/she blanked it because they knew the page was a copyvio. Ahh well, if he was going to blank it, I would have tagged it with {{db-empty}}. Thanks. :) ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 06:41, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

A little heads up, the warning you used for Blessed's page was a tad harsh, as the author possibly was GF trying to redact content that they knew was a copyvio. Use a removing speedy warning or custom message instead. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 06:53, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Bayo blanker

Thank you for reverting 89.244.219.238 (talkcontribsinfoWHOIS)'s Bayonetta blankings. Just yesterday, 89.244.197.76 (talkcontribsinfoWHOIS) blanked the Sales section as well. Perhaps 89.244.*.* may need to be reported to the incidents board or other such place soon. --an odd name 18:55, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Sorry

I'm truly sorry about the user page incident. It helped me learn how secure Wikipedia is :). Unfortunately, my school doesn't think the same way. My school's tech director blocked (OMG!) Wikipedia and also students cannot use Wikipedia as a source in projects or its an automatic 0 in the grade book because anyone can change it. True, but Wikipedia is the largest encyclopedia in the world, but its the most watched. --Micro101 23:28, 27 December 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Micro101 (talkcontribs)

I understand what you mean. I was about to take a little wikibreak until you said it right there. Maybe I should report it to my school administrator as well, as I'm coming back to it next Monday. Not only Wikipedia may be blocked because of students vandalising it, but also there can be plagiarism and (loads of) articles which students are not allowed to read, especially those in the Pornography category. Minimac94 (talk) 08:12, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing Twilight (novel) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), now it is semi-protected. --HappyInGeneral (talk) 16:17, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

I love your smiley! Well, I wonder how Twilight got vandalised so quickly... Maybe there was a contest to see how quickly you can vandalise the page. Minimac94 (talk) 17:33, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Your bad edits on Mitch Fatel

Please can you take more time and care to check what version you are reverting to. THREE times you restored a version of Mitch Fatel which was inappropriate in the extreme [2] [3] [4]. What you did was actually more damaging than the original vandalism as your edits would not have shown up in Huggle and could (were it not for the vigilance of another user) have remained for some considerable time. This is not the first time that someone has had cause to caution you over your lack of care and attention and I must warn you that you are very near to having your rollback rights removed. Nancy talk 12:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

As I did get confused by those edits I put up a request for semi protection on that page to avoid further trouble. Minimac94 (talk) 12:46, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Whether that page is protected or not is nothing to do with this. If you are easily confused by article edit history then you should not be having anything to do do with reversions. As I said, you are very, very close to losing your rollback rights so please, if you can't stand the heat then may be you should get out of the kitchen? Nancy talk 12:52, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Rollbacked edit, why?

Why did you revert this edit on Aston Villa F.C. season 2009-10? It was certainly not vandalism which is the only thing rollback should be used for. I have reinstated the edit. Woody (talk) 21:48, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for reporting it Woody. I thought it was vandalism, putting a word in for no reason. I'll remove the message on the IP's talk page for your sake. It appears on the IP's talk page that I haven't warned him. Phew, good job that didn't happen. Minimac94 (talk) 21:52, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Rollback revoked

As I told you on Thursday, you were very close to having your rollback removed. It seems that you have not taken heed of the advice you were offered and have contuninued to make rash and ill-judged reversions. You therefore left me no choice but to remove rollback from your account as per WP:ROLLBACK. You may reapply in the future but you will need to demonstrate in the interim that you are able to apply greater judgement and discretion when reverting. --Nancy talk 22:35, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, that didn't last long. I'm back to normal now. Not sure if I'll do it again, partially because they are so many other rollbackers around the world, including administrators. I'm really sorry to what I've done in the past few days, because I forgot to take this. I wish the rollback revoke could be shortened. I haven't blatantly misused the tool, but if I do make a mistake, maybe someone should report and let an admin revoke my rollback rights for a shorter time, rather than having the "multiples second chances otherwise revoked indefinitely" way. Anyway, I wish all the other rollbackers good luck for now. Minimac94 (talk) 06:04, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

The article Efalex has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NN product

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Toddst1 (talk) 21:58, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh my gosh, 4 issues on this article I've created. Can't challenge that deletion at all. Minimac94 (talk) 22:09, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

good evening

thanks, but I prefer to type out everything by hand. I dont like bots or programs. Rasputin72 (talk) 07:40, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

OK, no problem then. Bye! Minimac94 (talk) 07:42, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Oops..

I meant to add the "uncategorized" tag to that article on the Armenian singer. My bad. Thanks for the save! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:45, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
