Welcome from me as well! It's nice to find a fellow Bernese editing the English language Wikipedia. Sandstein 15:43, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Full-circles and half-circles[edit]

1) You take VERY nice photos. Do you use special cameras or special lenses, or is it because you are a skillfull photographer?

2) I would love to look at http://toolserver.org/%7Edschwen/pano/index.php?f=Adelaide.jpg&h= but my browser keeps timing out, so I have not been able to look.

3) A full circle is 360 degrees; a half-circle is 180 degrees. A 360-degree panorama would include the stuff behind the photographer, and the photo in question does not show anything behind the photographer.

1) Thanks for your comment. Infact, this panorama was made using 18 photos (stiched to one panorama), I was turning around for a full circle
2) Try this URL (sometimes there is a time-out) -> you will see the picture in a 360° panoramic viewer -> you will be able to turn around endlessly ... :
http://toolserver.org/~dschwen/pano/index.php?f=Adelaide.jpg&h=
If there still is a time-out, try following URL: it's showing the picture stitched to 720 degrees
http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:SouthernPlaza720.jpg
3) I know what 360 degrees means. This panoramic view is showing a full circle (360 degrees), have a look at the URLs above
4) Please stop reverting the page Adelaide Festival Centre

I did not understand how it could be a 360-degree panorama if it did NOT include King William Road, The Parade Ground and Government House. The answer seems to be that you were standing in the middle of the plaza, and much to my surprise, from that location King William Road, The Parade Ground and Government House are not visible.
It is very difficult to distinguish this from the picture - it is only by looking at the URLs you gave me that this became clear.
From them, it is quite clear that it is a 360-degree panorama.
My sincere apologies. Best wishes, Pdfpdf (talk) 15:17, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply and thanks a lot for the description! -> I have added it to the description page of the file.

Oh dear! It seems I'm not the only one who needs convincing. (C'est la vie?) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 11:44, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
