Welcome back to wikipedia. Can you explain why you changed the two words in timbre? I didn't understand your edit summary, and made fun of it in my revert summary. Dicklyon 05:59, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Timbre[edit]
The reason that the work "quality" seems less apropriate than the word I have substituted, "characteristic", is that there is a certain connation to the word quality that attributes a "good" or "bad" meaning to the adjective attempt to compare the abstract and highly subjective nature of "tone" to the the term "timbre" Rather, it is my viewpoint that there is no opinionated comparison between the word timbre, and tone, so I feel that "characteristic" is a more neutral word to use.
- I respect your opinion, but we are supposed to represent what is, not what we would prefer. Timbre is often called tone quality, seldom tone characteristic. It is not necessary to interpret quality here as a value judgement. See definitions of quality: [1]. Dicklyon 19:11, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
And secondly, sir, the reason that I feel the word "harsh" is completely out of place in a synonymous relation with an instruments tone color having the impact of exciting the human sense of touch, is because of the context in which the first descriptor that was used, "warm", the word harsh is not actually at all analagous to the word "warm", nor is it a fair and broad comparison synonym. "Warm" is implying temperature, and harsh is implying a completely different excitation of the human sensation. For my lack of understanding how "harsh" is really even descriptive of human touch, I suggest that "cold" be used instead because it also suggest a the aspect of temperature, which was a fair and linear comparison for your initial thesis about the assumption of a hierarchial order in the ever so assumptive stance you have taken in comparing the aspect of timbre, and tone composition of sound. flower pictures[edit]
I notice you removed my photo from the cornflower article. I'm not sure why you did this. Your edit summary said yours was a higher resolution. That may be the case, but it really doesn't show the flower any better than the one in the infobox at the top. Before adding and removing pictures, please ask yourself whether it adds any value to the article. Since my photo showed the side of the flower, including the distinctive bud, I've restored it to the article. Speedy deletion of Template:MidiMacMan[edit]

As I just found out via the article history of Gaillardia, you are not only the photographer of this picture, but were also responsible for the identification in the gallery Gaillardia - which is why I hope that you can help with an identification problem concerning this plant... Somehow in commons it is categorised as Gaillardia pulchella and now I'm trying to find out which is true - your identification (in the gallery as well as the File name) or the categorisation in commons... Can you help me? (how sure are you about the identification? the person responsible for the categorisation (Quadell) unfortunately didn't answer my question so far I...)

- San Juan City, Colorado – Hinsdale County seat February 10, 1874 to 1875
- Ula, Colorado at 38°09′00″N 105°30′07″W / 38.1500°N 105.5019°W – Custer County seat March 9, 1877 to 1878
- Wason, Colorado near 37°53′35″N 106°50′34″W / 37.8931°N 106.8428°W – Mineral County seat March 27, 1893 to 1893
