I knew I must have missed a few on List of state leaders in 2007. My eyes are notoriously bad about catching stuff like that. Everyking 07:09, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Stub sorting on Sinan Cetin

Thanks for the stub category additions on Sinan Cetin. One day I swear I'll figure out how to do it myself. KP Botany 19:32, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I've tried to renominate the page for deletion twice, but it keeps bringing up the 2005 deletion discussion. I'd appreciate some help. Thanks. --Gpohara 00:20, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Hold on concerning the last remark; I think I'm understanding now. --Gpohara 00:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

BITE

I think your warning (diff), which threatened a block, was a bit heavy handed. Assume good faith (WP:AGF)-- I don't think the guy knew-- and that's what they stated.(diff) I think an apology/explanation would be appropriate.

I'd like you to take a look at WP:BITE.

In terms of organization-- it would be better if you'd separated your point from the other discussion, i.e. your post should have been a separate section marked by "==" and "==". Thanks. Nephron  T|C 16:31, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

  • For context, the article that the user had created was titled How to vandalize a wiki. I agree that the warning should have been separated from the earlier discussion with the "==" and "==". --Metropolitan90 18:13, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Don't Destroy Question

You asked about what archiving talk page content had do do with removing content, since its only a click away perhaps. Even tho its one click away, putting it in an archive probably means noone is going to read it. People might read threads on the main talk page if they're interested, but usually will never even notice theres an archive. Sorry it took so long to answer. Fresheneesz 20:35, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

How to Vandalize a Wiki on deletion review

An editor has asked for a deletion review of How to Vandalize a Wiki. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Green-Dragon 05:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks, although by the time I got this message the deletion review had already been speedily closed with a "keep deleted". For archival purposes, the deletion review will be located at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 January 8. However, I would like to note that I did not delete the article in question myself (nor did I close the deletion discussion, since there wasn't one). Rather, I submitted it for speedy deletion. Then an administrator performed the actual deletion. I don't have the power or ability to delete an article myself since I'm not an administrator. --Metropolitan90 03:50, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

H. Salt Article

Just getting back to you about the H. Salt article.

"In the article you created titled H. Salt Esquire, there are footnotes but they don't actually cite anything yet." --Metropolitan90 23:47, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I was still writing the article. I have added the citations. Feel free to add more or get back to me if you have any questions. Thanks. Smoove Z 23:57, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

RBD: La Familia

I noticed that you removed the spanish text on RBD: La Familia. Im going to translate all of it, so please tell me if there is another reason for removing it other than its language.

Thanks

Bearingbreaker92 | Talk 15:42, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Because searching phrases from it on Google indicated that it was taken from (presumably copyrighted) articles, and even if those articles had not been copyrighted, they were just news articles pasted into the encyclopedia article which would not have been appropriate content here. The three articles can be found at [1], [2], and [3]. These articles have apparently been copied to many different fan sites but I don't know where they originally came from. --Metropolitan90 19:03, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Lisa Fremont afd recommendation

Hi, By localized time killer I was referring to the Lisa Fremont entry. The article stated is played at a southern university indicating this "game/challange" is specific to one location only, not something that is played throughout the world or the United States. To me that would be the same as saying "the kids in the school down the street have made up a game they play during recess". Even if the game were compelling it is still a game played by one group in one location. Philbertgray 11:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I understand now. By the time I saw the article Lisa Fremont, the content about the game/challenge had already been removed so I didn't know what you were referring to. That left two paragraphs about a character from the movie Rear Window, which might well be appropriate for merger into the page about the movie but were no longer connected to the reason given for the AfD. --Metropolitan90 14:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Enhancing Articles

I am presently at work on enhancing articles, allow me sufficient time in which to provide content and substance to them
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Berniethomas68 17:50, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

  • It looks as though you created six articles in half an hour today. Since four of them are about actors, I'm guessing that the other two are also about actors as well, but it would be best to get each article in decent shape before starting the next one. Right now, the last two articles don't even say that the subjects are actors or what profession they are in if they aren't actors. --Metropolitan90 17:55, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Yes you are correct and I am doing what I can hopefully with the help and the assistance of other Wikipedians to bring full content and substance to the article and of course I appreciate your feed back.

Radio Tramp

Hi. I've read the guidlines, and thought I'd placed emphasis on why he was notable in the article itself. If this is not the case, please could you explain why? Thanks, --Pope Radio Tramp 20:01, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, the article just describes him as riding around Cambridge on a bicycle with a muffled radio playing, which isn't something which would obviously make a person notable. His real name is not even provided. Under the biographical criteria at WP:BIO, he might qualify for an article if he had received media coverage, but none is mentioned. Also, there may be a conflict of interest in that your username Pope Radio Tramp is very similar to the article title. --Metropolitan90 20:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I'm going to recreate the article. Can we put this up for VFD please instead of a speedy so we can give other users a chance to decide whether or not this is worthy of its place here on wikipedia? Thanks--Pope Radio Tramp 13:22, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Tagging disambiguation...

I agree, but unless the disambiguation pages are tagged as such (which adds them to a category), the bot can't tell that's what they're intended to be. Once they are tagged, the bot will skip them, and won't mark them as stubs, or as uncategorised. Alai 05:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh, wait, disambig in the title... Good point, those are easily caught. Retagged those, can just tag them directly with {{disambig}} on future runs. Alai 06:02, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

hey- this is reguarding your comment about how she wanted to work w/ Dylan, Cole, and Brenda. well, i'm not sure where i read it, but it was an official site-Ashley states that she did want to work w/ the twins, but i'm still not sure about Brenda. i'll be looking in on that. --Tini —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tini 8 (talkcontribs) 18:59, 17 February 2007 (UTC).

Rhino Times

The infobos you merged from my user space was not finished and contains incorrect information. Can we undo the redirect and merge and let me finish my research and merge the info box when I get the correct address and circ numbers? B Pete 05:33, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

  • I think it would be better to go to Rhinoceros Times and leave the incorrect entries blank if you don't have the correct information. For that matter, if you think it's necessary to delete the entire infobox, you could do that. It is possible to undo the redirect and merge, but I don't think it's necessary. --Metropolitan90 05:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
  • By the way, I saw you just created \rhinobox. I think what you may be trying to do is create pages in your own user space; that would be something like User:B Pete/Rhinobox. The pages you created, \rhino and \rhinobox, were in the mainspace. I am going to move \rhinobox to User:B Pete/Rhinobox instead. --Metropolitan90 05:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry...you're right... I thought I was making user space pages, not main space pages. Thanks for correcting that. I'll be more careful about that in the future. I'll finish the infobox in user space and return to the article. B Pete 05:50, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

You are inncorrect, you wrote, "the word has no particular religious significance in itself...and a standard Hebrew word", which of course is not true, The "religious significance" is that when the word is heard in a Beit Tefillah everyone has to listen for it so as to respond in the approate "religiously way" immediately after, without delay. See the link I cited it with, on Jewish Liturgy, which is from the website Jewfaq.com, and an excert of the book, To Pray as a Jew: by Rabbi Hayim Halevy Donin. I hope this matter is now closed with you. Epson291 07:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I agree with Metropolitan90 that the word itself is not notable. I think it may be a merge candidate with Amen (because it prompts the kahal to say Omein). Alternatively, it could be merged with Kaddish, because its main use is in Kaddish (although one would need to cross-reference it in any article on Hazkoras nefoshos, misheberach and so on. JFW | T@lk 10:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

you wrote The article Stargate TCG actually refers in the text to a game called "Stargate TGC". You may want to move the page accordingly. --Metropolitan90 21:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm a little confused, if the article's title is "Stargate TGC", it can be found by searching "Stargate TGC", and the text refers to a game called "Stargate TGC", why should it be moved? *smiles* you've gotten me all confused! I'd appreciate your help. --Be Well and Battle On: Leon Alistair 21:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
    • The title of the article is Stargate TCG (like "Texas California Georgia") but the text refers to Stargate TGC (like "Texas Georgia California"). I would move it myself, except that I know nothing about this game so I don't know which spelling is correct. --Metropolitan90 21:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • *almost jumps out of shoes* yikes! thanks alot my friend I am very much obliged, if you ever need anythink just ask! The corect spelling is TCG (Trading Card Game) Again thank you!!!!!! --Be Well and Battle On: Leon Alistair 21:49, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Spring Arbor University

Is there a way to make it particular page protected against revisions? It is becoming a political poster child for and organization that has ties GLAAD. The citations that are being used are coming from news articles that were written from press releases from an unknown organization. They all have the the same political spin. Most of the updates with wikipedia page coincides within 120 minutes of the publication of news articles. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Springarborresident (talkcontribs) 02:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC).

  • Yes, it is possible to have a page protected against revisions; see WP:RPP. However, administrators will usually protect a page only if it is being vandalized -- not just because of an edit dispute. --Metropolitan90 04:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Thank you for your speedy response. I do not think that it would reach that level. They are currently at the level of doing a smear campaign in which they are creating any disturbance that would produce a high level of publicity. They are going for the shock value for an unusual agenda. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Springarborresident (talkcontribs)

Abrahamic theist wikipedian and dharmic theist wikipedian

i am ok with the idea if you want to remove abrahamic theist wikipedian and replace it with its subcats--Java7837 04:26, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I removed your speedy delete request as the article in question is clearly in context of the Nine Inch Nails release of Year Zero (album). If you really think it should be removed, please feel free to nominate it for an AfD. --Auto(talk / contribs) 16:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

I see that you cited WP:MALL in a deletion debate today. Please note that User:Kevin Murray has just tagged that proposed guideline as "rejected." Do you agree that it is not "rejected?" I am debating whether to once again remove the rejected tag. It seems to be about as much of a consensus guideline as any other. There are always a couple of editors who want to eliminate as many guidelines as possible. What do you think? Edison 19:06, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Looking at the discussion on the talk page, it appears that there weren't that many people discussing the proposed guideline, but on the other hand there certainly was no consensus against it either. I would support taking the rejected tag off and replacing it with the proposed guideline tag, since a consensus for it has not been established but such a consensus might be reached in the future. --Metropolitan90 19:54, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

While the "Big Ten Studios" may not be a "real concept" in your mind, the term "Big Ten" is still ambiguous. There used to be a disambiguation page for "Big Ten", but it was deleted in favor of the hatnote. Please don't delete it again. Thanks! Lordmontu (talk) (contribs) 22:04, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

substing

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. ST47Talk 12:45, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Please delete quickly: Space Weather

There already exists a "space weather" entry -- space weather. For some reason I did not find it in my search (how I could have missed that is odd, as it is rather easy to find!). Because I had thought it did not yet exist, I created one and was about to add content to it.

You may remove my empty page on Space Weather. Thank you. --NW7US 23:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for your attention to this. The article has already been speedily deleted by another editor. --Metropolitan90 23:45, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't realize that there was a special procedure for relisting - I thought it would be enough to indicate such in the edit summary. As for the relisting itself, I've been somewhat annoyed that it hasn't been closed already, seeing as initially tagged it for speedy deletion. --DLandTALK 00:07, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, it's only been 4 days; generally on an AfD you have to wait 5 days, and as indicated on WP:AFD sometimes the administrators get backlogged. --Metropolitan90 00:09, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Your message

"Why did you speedy delete an AfD log page?" Ah, I'm glad that you asked me that... I don't know exactly what happened; I was going through the speedy-deletions page, which has a backlog, and had removed the template from one article, replacing it with an afd tag. Then my computer went funny, slowing down, suddenly flicking one window up as I clicked on another. I suspected that something horrible had happened, and I was just going to my contributions history to try to work out what when I got your message. Thanks. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 21:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for the note on the article. I knew the article's content was kinda encyclopedic and kinda not -- but it just seemed wikipedia, with its popularity and numbers, provides a great spot to integrate information on AMBER Alert's. Imagine how it could be used -- people all over the country inputing information, leads, etc. - WilsonjrWikipedia (talk) 23:43, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Bob Proctor deletion

I note that the article I started, Bob Proctor got deleted. Is there anyway you can email me the text-html that got deleted? I would like to work on it to get it into suitable form. Also, it appears the deletion process also removed the [[ ]] around "Bob Proctor" where it occurred in every article in Wikipedia. It seems that is over-kill and unjustified. It is one thing to say what I wrote was not suitable, but it is another to say that he is not notable — many editors thought he is, hence why they put [[ ]] around his name. —WikiLen 05:19, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't have access to the deleted article, but you can request a copy from an administrator at WP:DRV#Content review. Unfortunately, I don't remember what was in the Bob Proctor article so I don't know if he is notable or not. --Metropolitan90 00:00, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

on Angela Marcela Pérez article

Well, thanks for sharing your point of view about the notability of the article above mentioned. Surprisingly, before I could state an explanation for the importance of that same article, it was literally "super speedy-deleted". I have pointed out some reasons that, I hope, justify its notability in the Discussion section. Just check it out so we can find a solution. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mannschaftskapitän (talkcontribs)

  • The problem was that the subject was described as a noted historian born in 1986. It would be unlikely for a person of her age to be a noted historian already, and I couldn't find any Google hits to confirm anything about her. --Metropolitan90 04:49, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I clearly understand your point. I don't know if you had the chance to read my explanation in the discussion section of the cited article because other user deleted all of the information posted there but the truth is that for being so young se has had a promising success in the academic circles of History in Bogotá. Unfortunately, no information on those issues has been released on the Internet and the sources with which I count are magazines and my own investigation. It's really important for a group of social scientists to know a little bit more about her background, education and current activities. Mannschaftskapitän 05:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
    • I didn't see the explanation because, as you said, it got deleted along with the article itself before I found out about it. --Metropolitan90 14:02, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion. We chose purple and blue because they are the colors of the Hi-5 logo. There has been a long standing consensus regarding the look and feel of this template (I personally like the way it is now), but if you can find some better colors, go for it! We'll check it out and give you our feedback. But remember to change the {{Hi-5 Australia}} template as well. --Vptes1 15:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Procedurally, you are handling this matter correctly by writing a justification of the article on the talk page. However, the content of the article seems to be mostly an invasion of the privacy of the relatives of an alleged member of a crime family. There is not even any indication in the article that the subject was convicted of a crime, yet the article goes into detail about the names and birthdates of his grandchildren. Wikipedia is not supposed to be a genealogy. --Metropolitan90 02:26, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
