I'm sorry, but without evidence that Neal Rosenstein's genealogy is accepted as a reliable source by others in the field - which would necessarily be historians of academic credibility - I can't really see how his work can be used as a source. I can find but a single reference to Rosenstein via Google scholar for example - and that is to his book. It is of course possible that the individuals you have included in the category are indeed descended from Rabbi Katzenellenbogen - but we will need evidence from other credible sources that Rosenstein's genealogy is accepted as valid before we can justify the category. Do you have any links to reviews of Rosenstein's work in academic journals for example? From the NYT review of the book [1] - which seems to suggest that Rosenstein claims to have traced the Katzenellenbogen line back to Adam himself - one has to ask whether this is properly-founded historical research, or speculation. Andy, before saying things like I'm "citing no source whatsoever," please see cited sources. Here's a list including the book, NYTimes, New York Magazine, and a respected genealogist. Is there something else you're looking for? It's hard for me to understand why you make such harsh statements without knowing what you're talking about in this case. I so much appreciate everyone who works hard to contribute to Wikipedia. I don't think it's good to chase away new contributors by putting statements out there that are inaccurate. Unless that's the goal.

Sorry, but you are making historical claims relating to multiple notable individuals, based on a single source for which I can see little evidence for any recognised academic credibility - which is the standard required for such material, see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (history). I suggest that you look for any material to establish such credibility (academic reviews, evidence that Rosenstein's genealogy has been cited in academic works, etc) and then raise the matter at the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard, where we can get input from others - there is little point in just the two of us debating the question, and others may have further information. As I said above, we'd need evidence from academic historians or similar to establish the reliability of Rosenstein on a matter like this - and a search on 'Google scholar' at least suggests that there may not be any such material. Thinking about this further though, I have to ask whether being a descendent of Rabbi Katzenellenbogen is notable (by Wikipedia standards) anyway? As was pointed out during a recent discussion over a category (now deleted) of descendants of Charlemagne (see [2]) the consensus seems to be that 'descent' categories are of little encyclopaedic note, even for the most notable individuals - 'Category:Descendants of Queen Victoria' for example was deleted - and furthermore, the further one goes back in time, if an individual has left any living descendants at all, it becomes statistically more likely that everyone from the same community/ethnicity now living will be descended from them, via one line or another - and a category that included say most individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish descent would be of little merit. On this basis, even if Rosenstein's work is accepted as a reliable source, there seems little chance that the category will be seen as suitable for Wikipedia. For me, the fascinating part of this that I believe makes it worth sharing is the connection between so many notable, yet very distinct pursuits in business, religion, government, etc. that trace back directly to the same source. As I've suggested, asking whether Rosenstein's work meets our requirements on the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard might be the way to start - assuming that you have already read Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (history), and still think it is worth trying. Frankly though, given my doubts regarding whether the category itself meets our notability standards, the question may be moot. I'm not at this point going to propose that the category be deleted, but I'd suggest that precedent suggests that it has little hope of remaining if such a deletion is proposed. Genealogy is a fascinating subject, but that doesn't make every genealogical fact necessarily noteworthy. As noted above, it seems statistically almost certain that any living individual of European descent (which would include me) is a descendant of Charlemagne, and I've seen the same suggested (perhaps less intuitively) regarding the prophet Mohammed - that most living Europeans are very likely descended from him too, via one line or another. As for whether I'm also descended from Rabbi Katzenellenbogen, I've no idea, but it doesn't seem that improbable, on similar statistical grounds. Ultimately, if one goes back far enough, one can trace (via genetics rather than genealogy) everyone to single individuals on the direct matrilineal line and the direct patrilineal one - and a category of say 'descendants of Mitochondrial Eve' would be rather pointless. Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to The Pride Center at Equality Park. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements.
