About content[edit]

Hi, I'm MattChatt18, and I'm here to improve Wikipedia articles. If you think an article needs improving, just request me or another editor to do for you.

Please add your signature[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. YSSYguy (talk) 16:39, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks, I just forgot. It was a correction I had made and forgot to sign it because I was busy. MattChatt18 (talk) 09:14, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aviation[edit]

I study aviation. Here some of the air disasters I learn about:

I also watch the hit series Mayday/Air Crash Investigation/Air Emergency/Air Disasters. I find this show really interesting. I also edit List of Mayday episodes just for improvements or copy-edits. MattChatt18 (talk) 13:43, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016[edit]

Information icon Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on List of Mayday episodes. Thank you. Class455 (talk) 19:37, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Calm down with the edit summaries mate! If you believe the editor is vandalising Wikipedia, take it to their talk page or report them to AIV and don't use the edit summary to vent your frustrations. Thank you. Class455 (talk) 19:40, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, Class455. I just got a bit impatient, that's all. MattChatt18 (talk) 19:45, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, we all get frustrated when people don't listen to us. Class455 (talk) 19:49, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Mayday episodes. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Class455 (talk) 11:56, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry (CaptainEddieLeathwood)[edit]

Hi Mattchatt I am sorry for constantly editing the "List of Mayday Episodes" and changing it all to the wrong title. I understand now I was making you annoyed and I should have looked at "Alternative titles" before changing the titles, so please don't get angry at me for it and do not block me from editing articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain Eddie Leathwood (talkcontribs) 19:40, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, Eddie. That's fine. Just don't do it again, please. Thanks. MattChatt18 (talk) 17:14, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Dkendel[edit]

Thanks to User:Dkendel, I can't edit the List of Mayday episodes page. What else can I do? MattChatt18 (talk) 12:21, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MattChatt18, it's Dkendel. I just want to apologize for anything I have done to make you're editing difficult. I have a problem understanding your comment "Thanks to User:Dkendel, I can't edit the List of Mayday episodes page. What else can I do?". What do you mean with that sentence?:) Never mind, I hope we can still work together editing and that we can get along with each other.
You see, I have been edit warring at List of Mayday episodes and this has been going on a while. I have been changing the "Malaysia Airlines Flight 370" episode in season 14 from episode 11 to that the episode is a special edition. I also have added the some more episodes to season 16. I don't see anything wrong with what. When you watch the episode it says in the beginning that the episode is a special edition and many sites have released videos and other stuff that confirms the episodes I have added — Preceding Dkendel (talkcontribs) 09:49, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant by my sentence is that you made the administrators changed the level of protection on List of Mayday episodes. It was silver at first and now it's golden because you were CONTENTIOUSLY reverting edits. Now I can't edit List of Mayday episodes until further notice. Don't do it again. I have been a bit cross since then. MattChatt18 (talk) 10:52, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also Dkendel, we exposed you as a possible sockpuppet to Ilham muhammad. I wish you never bloody did that! MattChatt18 (talk) 17:16, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What do you freaking mean by "we exposed you as a possible sockpuppet to Ilham muhammad? I havent done any edit about that person! Cut it off at once!!! You need to stop this nonsense!!! Bad language! Dkendel (talk) 09:52, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it looks like I will NEVER edit List of Mayday episodes again because the lock is now gold so only administrators can edit it and because of you, Dkendel, for constantly vandalising the page! MattChatt18 (talk) 14:22, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What does this have to do with a "Ilham muhammad"? I feel that you just want to push me down with all sorts of comments and remarks. You need to answer my question! You can't say that I "vandalized" List of Mayday episodes. You undid everything I edited. I mean EVERYTHING! I want to edit Wikipedia to the better, but whenever you disagree with an edit that contains real information and updates I have made you just undo it and say that I am "vandalizing".
Example: I change Season 14, episode 11 to that the 11th episode is a special episode. This has been and is confirmed by Cineflix and in the intro of the episode. Here is a link to Cineflixes episode breakdown page - http://www.cineflixrights.com/sections/19-Programming/shows/series_breakdown.
On it under "Mayday: Air Disaster" it says that there is a special episode in season 14. It also confirms that season 16 and 17 contains 10 episodes each.
Dkendel (talk) 22:12, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you are making me cross. I will properly NEVER edit List of Mayday episodes again all because of you vandalising the page! I feel like quitting Wikipedia because of you! MattChatt18 (talk) 11:07, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you start by changing the subject? Don't you have anything to say to your defense? I want to know how you can defend you're offencive comments and remarks and why you just don't realize that it doesn't help to make false statments just because you don't get your way?
Can you explain accurate why you accused me of being a sockpuppet to Ilham muhammad? Give some examples...
You can't think that you're the only one who's right here... Dkendel (talk) 17:50, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reads- "Wikipedia articles must not contain original research. The phrase "original research" (OR) is used on Wikipedia to refer to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist.[1] This includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources."...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 19:53, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MattChatt, I know this seems frustrating, but a source is not something to create conclusions based upon assumptions. We are doing our best to make sure the page is 100% accurate beyond reasonable doubt. Thanks for understanding. Tntad (talk) 01:19, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I would like to know why you thought my revisions on the list of Mayday episodes were unnecessary. DASL51984 (Speak to me!) 18:19, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I just think they look fine. Plus the TWA 800 accident is controversial and the TWA 800 investigation couldn't prove with certainty that an electrical spark caused the explosion. And Pan Am 103 didn't necessarily spiral when it broke apart. I think they look just alright. MattChatt18 (talk) 18:25, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Could I reinstate my edits without changing the Pan Am 103 and TWA 800 details? DASL51984 (Speak to me!) 20:24, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I suppose so. MattChatt18 (talk) 09:39, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
DoneMattChatt18 (talk) 09:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • MattChatt18, I agree with you that many of DASL51984's recent edits have been unnecessary (especially those which self-revert material which they changed themselves not too long ago). More importantly, they often contain poor grammar and factual errors, and need careful scrutiny. DASL should be seeking consensus for their edits, not demanding other editors spend their time explaining the many problems they contain. Perhaps WP:BRD may be a useful approach?
