I'm not sure why you are adding a long list of former mayors to the Pittston, Pennsylvania article. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:34, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Instead of reverting my edit, please respond. You may just be wasting a lot of your time. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:38, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • You really do need to slow down. There are issues with the names of the images, and the number of test edits. You may want to use your sandbox, and get some assistance with your image file names. Magnolia677 (talk) 00:47, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:Pittstonsky.png[edit]

Where did you acquire the photo for File:Pittstonsky.png? I have concerns that you don't have the rights to the original image you edited. —C.Fred (talk) 02:11, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • File:Pittstonmap.png has the same issue. Where did you get the satellite image? Google maps and the like are not free images; if you can't provide satisfactory evidence of your source, I'll delete the images as copyright violations. —C.Fred (talk) 02:27, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you are changing the image sizes at Pittston, Pennsylvania. The standard default size is 220px, per MOS:IMGSIZE. If you have a reason to change the image sizes, please get consensus on the talk page first. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 00:58, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please respond[edit]

Two editors, myself and User:C.Fred, have attempted to contact you with concerns, but you have not responded. The Wikipedia community depends on the collaboration of editors, so you really need to say something. Thank you for your hard work on Pittston, Pennsylvania. I am concerned that not all of your edits are necessary. First, this photo is a copyright violation. The previous version you uploaded here was deleted for that reason. This means you cannot just upload a new version and hope no one will notice. Also, there are already too many photos in the article. Please stop adding more. Also, you created the article Mayor of Pittston, Pennsylvania. For that reason, I moved that entire section out of the Pittston article. It is redundant to have it in both places, and does not conform to the layout suggested in WP:USCITIES. Stop adding it back. Also, photos should ideally be placed on the right side of an article, per MOS:IMAGES, and be of the default size of 220px. Please stop moving and resizing the photos. Also, please start leaving edit summaries so other editors know what you are doing. Finally, I would suggest you refrain from editing using your IP address as well. If you continue to undo my edits without discussing your reasons (ideally on the article's talk page), you will be reported. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:28, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:DowntownPittston2016new.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:DowntownPittston2016new.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:31, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Please clarify your relationship with the City of Pittston[edit]

I see you uploaded File:ArtWalk2015.jpg and claimed it as your own work. That image was uploaded not to a personal Facebook account but to the the City of Pittston Facebook account.

The logical conclusion is that you work for the City of Pittston.

Please reply to either confirm or deny this. If you're a city employee editing at the city's request, you must declare that you are paid to edit Wikipedia as part of your job duties. If you're a city employee editing outside the office, you still need to declare you conflict of interest.

If you do not respond, you may find that other editors assume your silence is a quiet confirmation that you have a conflict of interest and treat your edits accordingly. —C.Fred (talk) 00:52, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

January 2017[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Pittston Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:42, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the deletion discussion of Thomas J. Maloney (politician) and some of your other work[edit]

I posted this at the deletion discussion itself, but wanted to make sure you saw it and am reposting it here. There is already a newspapers.com clipping for one of his obituaries, here. There are (of course) many other articles about him in Luzern County papers from during his life which can be found on newspapers.com (and elsewhere). I would not support this article or its recreation if sources like these were used. There is an essay Wikipedia:Places of local interest and a failed guideline proposal Wikipedia:Notability (local interests) which basically advise that "Editors will generally not object to articles about places of local interest that are sufficiently long (not a stub), contain appropriate information (e.g. several of the ideas for information to include above), and are reasonably well-referenced." In the early period of Wikipedia, an article like this in its current state might be retained with the idea that such an article could be written. Now, articles are held to a higher standard. As a note, this Thomas Maloney died in 1909, there was another Thomas Maloney (I don't know if there is any relation) who was a labor leader and coal miner in central Pennsylvania (nearby Wilkes Barre) who is certainly notable. Also, newspapers.com also finds sources about him under the name "James Maloney", suggesting that his middle name is James, but I don't find anything significant and contemporary using that name as a search term, either. Thank you for uploading File:Backmountainmap.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:27, 3 March 2022 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
