Hi!

We seem to have a lot in common. I like your userboxes. My mom has MS, I know 314 digits of pi because I have no life, my nanny growing up was Mormon, and some more stuff that is minor. Oh, I found you because fixed my Kousagi page (btw thanks!). I think I will have to borrow some of your userboxes now because I did not realize they had become this cool. Sailor Moon Edits

You were voted down 5 to 1 on the Princesses page (by previous people who wanted to merge and also by Kunsite). Sorry, but that's how it goes. If you would like to disagree and revert the change, you need more people on your side than our side. Go to the Talk:Sailor Moon Page to discuss it out. Before making edits in the future you will need support for your arguments from other wikipedia members (not your friends). I was going to delete all of them anyhow/redirect. This will save you a lot of time and trouble in the future. Also it has been decided that all talk pages will point to the Sailor Moon Talk page active or not because all of the character pages are very, very inconsistent. There needs to be some consistency across the board to control edits and make it easier to edit the pages to a basic format. These two things are separate. If you have a better idea, talk it out instead of reverting the pages.

Again, any grievances you have should be addressed to the Sailor Moon Talk page. Don't revert blindly or Deneson will not like it and it's a Wikipedia offense. We're all SM fans, however, remember that Wikipedia is a group project. So the group should decide. Hitsuji Kinno 19:00, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Image:Darksailormercury.jpg

Hi, I see you have added some source information for Image:Darksailormercury.jpg. I still don't think it qualifies as fair use though, because the image has been cropped so that the publication title can't be seen, and the source information does not include details of the publication the image came from. See WP:FU for more information on this.

I think a free-use image needs to be found to replace this image. Kevin 09:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

MegaTokyo

This isn't a Japanese work. And.. this is technically incorrect. In Megatokyo Japanese peoples' names are NEVER in Japanese order. And the guideline in the MOS refers to people, not fictional characters. WhisperToMe 00:50, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:HitoshiDoi.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:HitoshiDoi.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:44, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Megatokyo

"(cur) (last) 21:39, 8 August 2006 Masamage (Talk | contribs | block) (→Sonoda Yuki - Name in Western order as in the style guide) "

This is erroneous. 1. Megatokyo is an American work made by Fred Gallagher - It doesn't matter how much influence Japanese comics have over the work - It is an American comic book. 2. The comic originates in the English language and specifically dictates the names as Japanese order. There was a time when the naming order was written in Western order, BUT that is not considered to be a part of the actual comic. 3. WP:Anime is not policy, so it does not have to be followed. And it does not apply to Megatokyo (again, Megatokyo was created by two American men)

MT

Masamage, please don't take my stance personally - I understand the frustration you are experiencing. The problem is that this is an encyclopedia, and the people who write it ought to be anal about little details if they wish for the encyclopedia to be taken as an accurate source.

I have the attitude you because I take Wikipedia seriously. That means rejecting the "that's your opinion" idea. When you are in a hot debate, the "that's your opinion" is a sign of weakness. I do not wish to convey that. If this was a casual AIM chat about personal preferences, "that's your opinion," while it shouldn't be said, is the best way to think about it. But when this is a Wikipedia dispute, "that's your opinion" is fatal.

I messaged this to you because I want you to know this. WhisperToMe 22:52, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

By the way, if you don't feel strongly about a given viewpoint, then it is okay to use the "Well, this is your opinion" way of thinking. WhisperToMe 23:01, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

As per an edit comment...

I am frankly quite leery of taking the fan usage of senshi and a) using it officially in an encyclopedia, and b) using it as a title. My main gripe would be that senshi is not an English word, but there are a number of perfectly usable terms in English that are accurate without needing to be literal. Moreover, fan usages aren't always linguistically correct (otaku is a good example of this), or the other way around, where the Japanese have started using マイ-<whatever> to refer to things people own. In short, I think the fan usage should be acknowledged, but to maintain objectivity, I think fan usage should not be considered official usage, and it is necessary to pick a word and use it consistently. Having done research of the pop culture type, I can say that when one lapses into fannish comments and usages, it diminishes the credibility of the piece, so I think it would be best not to do that. MSJapan 23:12, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:AmazonTrio.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AmazonTrio.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 60.53.1.182 13:18, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:RoseThrow.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:RoseThrow.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ResurgamII 22:44, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

On Kaioh Behalf...

  • If it was grammer and such, I can understand, but as an artist I would not agree that it was matter of opinion, just because that people don't understand how the artist's mind works does not make it a "matter of opinion". Nothing is accidental, if you study symbolism and human body arts, you'll see that all the final pose of each transformation have a bases where it's from.

Those who thinks in the left side of the sphere needs everything to be made clean cut and obviously clear are unfortunate because they are missing out on seeing the world in a different light, especially Japanese animation since Japanese artist are known for their "out of this world" method. Be glad that it's not Picasso or Dali who created Sailor Moon, then less than average of you would be here.

As for the videogame attack, since it's M.K. related, there should at least a link or something that falls under the attack moves that would sub-inform that knowledge if not straight to the point. If those games had been published in USA, I believe I won't even have the need to bring this up.

Wikipedia may have rules and guide lines of how things should be presented, but it also said in the front home page that it's an encyclopedia that ANY one can edit. But it seem like there's a group fanatics completely dominate the field and holding the banner of Wiki's rules. On that, I have nothing more to say, because that would be a waste of breath.

Sincerely, with respect to fellow human —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yajaec (talkcontribs)

  • Follow up from the reply to the posting above...

I apologize if the statements made was harsh and took the group down with it. But understanding the reason behind the anger was how swiftly and easily dismissed was done to my addition to the article. Granted that there's a organization group working on the SM universe in Wiki but one can't help but react strongly when one recieve message like "Your change was determined to be unhelpful..." when it's legit and arguable. As for "...saying that this is an Encyclopedia, and we're not allowed to put anything in it unless we can prove it with external sources." I've seem countless pages here in Wiki, if that is true, then more than half of the many little info added to all the articles in Wiki would need to be removed. Besides the trident statment/observation was not copyrighted and I've seen countless legit info like that added to like a Side Note section and/or Sub-topic area.

Wiki did not make rule as to how attack technique of videogame need to be separated from anime/manga nor did the author of SM created a rule for how things should be. Otherwise anime and manga ones need to be separated too. Again, just making a point, don't really want to step on the group's toes here. One can't help but see the quick removal of few simple legit addition as a form of dominating the site. If I miss read that action, I apologize.

I've seen the SM section/collection and I applauds you guys on the massive collection of data. If we have stepped off on the wrong foot, it certainly was a miss understanding. Personal apology to Masamage and Danny L. (Yajaec 21:15, 12 October 2006 (UTC))

  • Thanks for the reply, as for videogame, I personally collected a few, but not complete, I'll see what I can dig up to start that page, but I'm no writer, so someone else might have to go in and re-organize/grammer stuffs. Thanks. Yajaec 21:46, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Moreover, he routinely collaborates with a cabal of anarcho-capitalist editors to promote his POV (including the banned sockpuppet User:Doctors without suspenders). Overall, his behaviour fits the definition of WP:DE, and he should therefore be blocked. -- WGee 04:46, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: Your image uploads

The Sailor Moon ones? I took them all from the official DVDs that I purchased. All I need to know is how to license them correctly for fair-use as that guy wants. -- RattleMan 07:00, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Sure! Thanks for helping out. -- RattleMan 08:04, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Also, if you have the time, would you mind helping me with the fair-use rational for the other images I've uploaded? [2]

Masamage

Hi Rachel,

This is you user:cjwright79 again. I am taking a great risk in revealing to you that I have access to another computer, so please take this as a sign of good faith.

First and foremost, to anyone reading this who is about to ban me for sockpuppeting: I come in peace. Please hear me out. And Rachel, if you could post this to the Incidents board, withholding my new user name of course, I would appreciate it. It's not a huge deal if everyone knows this is my new account, as I have reformed (please see Vangran's contributions for evidence) but I fear that some admins may still be interested in revenge. I could really not blame them if they did block this account, too, as I definitely was being a big unrepentant jerk the other day.

At any rate, the most important new thing I have to say is that the last edit made, to the Starbuck's Union article, was made by my brother, not me. After I left, he was doing some homework, evidentally looked something up on Starbucks' and decided to spite me by vandalizing using my account. This was the edit that got me banned. I only just discovered this today. Yes, I am a touch pissed at him right now!

As I had said the other night on the Incidents message board, I was going outside to cool off. I did that, for over an hour. In the meantime, half an hour after my last actual post, my brother decided to prank me by adding 'bitches aint shit' to the Starbucks' article.

As I'm sure you are aware, even if you think me a horrible troll, at least I troll with proper grammar and punctuation. "bitches aint shit" is simply not my style; I trust that you will see this.

Regardless, I obviously conducted myself in a rather unpleasant manner the other day, and I make this formal comittment to you: if you think any more of my future posts are vandalistic, disrespectful, untrue, or arrogant, go ahead and block me again, though I urge you to use discretion in using the indefinite block option. It is most unpleasant to be indefinitely blocked!

Yes, I am aware of the rules of the internet: a person is responsible for their account. I will now be far more careful about signing out, and removing my password, so that my brother cannot get me banned again. It's a matter of computer use: two people, one computer. He doesn't like me spending a single minute using the family computer, as he likes to chat with his friends on MSN a great deal, play CounterStrike, and other things that 18 year old boys like to do. I am 27, incidentally.

So: all things considered, I am not terribly confident that user:cjwright79 will be unbanned anytime soon. The admins are likely still angry at my impetuousness, and I cannot blame them. But as I have said, I will do better. I hereby commit: no more vandalism or trolling. If I do something slightly questionable, please, talk to me on my talk page. If I were to do anything egrecious (as I shall not), do not hesitate to ban me again.

A final note: because I thought that I had been banned for mild trolling, rather than the clear-cut vandalism that my brother added, I said some rather harsh things to a few editors. You do have my apologies -- and if you aren't interested in those, I will just say that I take my comments back.

Best regards. Vangran

Hi!!

I went ahead and replaced the Tuxedo Mask mask pic on the Mamoru Chiba page. I used the jewel one that was suggested. If there are any more pics that we need, please let me know and I will work on them. I'm getting very image-crazy now. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 23:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

As with me, too. Usually I'm away from home at college, but this weekend I'm here at home with all my DVDs. Ones I think we could do with is a shot of the Tsukino home, and Ikuko/Kenji together. If you need images, just ask! -- RattleMan 23:49, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
I found this image of the outers with their talismans here. I know that there are already individual images on Talisman (Sailor Moon), but could we use this as a main image, perhaps? -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Wow, that's awesome. I might even suggest removing the very small, very cropped, black-and-white individual shots altogether and putting that at the top instead. Bring it up at the Talismans page, I suppose?
And thank you both for being so helpful and awesome. :DD -Masamage 00:09, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
In fact, here's a better version of that image, but I think I prefer this one. It's a lot clearer as an illustation of the items rather than the people. (And they'll be more visible when shrunk down.) --Masamage 00:12, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Alright. I'll commence in sourcing the second one. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:17, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Rock on. --Masamage 00:21, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Finished!! I left the individual ones. I suppose they can go if they are not needed. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
I uploaded an image of the three different versions. It can be found here. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 02:26, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
I added it to Minako Aino's page. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 02:39, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Hey Hey! Some of those things were my idea!!! Why are you telling her!... XD Just kidding! Its great to see people listen to to me.. No-one at school does....Lego3400: The Sage of Time 16:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: SM images

Well, I've got some candidates here on my HD. Right now I'm rewatching every single episode at 2x/3x speed for fun, to search for images, and also to search for anything worth making an mp3 out of (attacks, henshins, Library Pieces). I'll show you some candidates later. -- RattleMan 03:29, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Here is what I have so far, and I think that's all that's needed. Some are new, some are improvements over ones already up on WP. All of them taken from my C DVDs. -- RattleMan 08:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Stars

Sorry I've been so busy. I have Nanowrimo, 2 non fiction books to write, college (2 classes), 1 novel to finish writing, and 1 story to send out. --;; I'm so booked and I feel guilty over my website not being updated in ages.

Anyhow, you asked about the Mirror Parodies? They are Mirror Parodies because they are made out of mirrors and they parody Nehellenia. (or however you want to spell her name.) The name comes from Hitoshi Doi who took it from the original Japanese anime books and translated them into English. Among the older crowd of SM fans dating back to when they first aired, this is the basic consensus on their name. This would pretty much include Hitsohi Doi, Ken Aromdee, Lunar Archivist, Jackie Chiang, among other people who were there before. I've see that katakana before... (Scan... probably not up due to fandom death of older pages) and to get doll, you would need do-ru, not di- pa-ro-di... so it's Parody... technically though Japanese doesn't have plurals, so you can take that as you like, but since they borrowed from English which has plurals, you can take that as you like. --Hitsuji Kinno 07:11, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Japanese's romanizations are strange to begin with. So it's not that consistent throughout for elongating vowels, but it is clear it's not "doru" so it's not doll. --Hitsuji Kinno 03:56, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Could it be a pesky pun then? ^^;; I can ask a friend if he has access to those anime books. Ken Aromdee is likely to have them too. So it might be worth asking him as well. --Hitsuji Kinno 04:09, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

thank you

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my userpage, I see the anonymous user has also tried insulting you, lol, on his talk page. [[3]] Seems he is just another disgruntled footy fan.

--Jadger 00:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't really get it either, I believe it is in reference to soccer/fußball, as I have done some minor editing on soccer articles. Don't know why he'd call you an Ireland fan though, they just clobbered their opposition a couple days ago. Although not much of his other edits make much sense, as he claims I am Viet-Kong, but I already have a Canadian Conservative userbox on my userpage.

You readded data, but it is not correct to the above article. Blood is not a complete statement. I may not clarify further, but there are many sites that will assist you in adding the correct, complete language. However, the delete was better because it did not introduce incorrect langauage. Nanowrimo

I won two years in a row. You have to bank 1667 words per day--this is a little less than a professional writer's load (which is about 10 pages per day 250 words per page. 20 pages on bad days with rough deadlines.) It's a lot of fun, the best section is the Character and Plot Realism page. You can ask *anything* in there and almost no one will get upset at you. Only 2 questions of mine have failed in there... 50,000 words in a month is hard, but fun. This year I started late... and chose the most obscure subject (Sheep traveling around the world learning how to jump a fence from the gold sheep Aries.). But I have a novel that's 80,000 words that needs to be about 100,000 words before it's completed so I shouldn't complain so much. --;;

As for Calculus... ahhh... I miss doing complex math. I want to take 3 dimensional calculus so I can create 3D worlds better. And congrats on getting married (whenever that was). I made a quick suggestion on attack referencing too for the Sailor Moon Wikiproject talk page... just to get Ami up to a GA level for now, and then we can figure out how to sort it out later, ne? --Hitsuji Kinno 04:04, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I laughed when you said he was a dubbie (my being a dubbie lasted as long as it took for me to find out it was actually Japanese then I looked it up.)... Let's see the first Nano was about a woman whose mother had just died and her coming to terms with it by comparing love to a seeing eye dog (she really didn't like this mother much...) It was *kinda* chic lit, but wasn't about her going shopping for clothes, but more about coming to terms with herself, her mother and her husband. My mom rather liked it. The second one was a chore to write. I barely made it. It was a fictional religious book. This meant I had no central characters, I had no plot and I didn't have a real storyline. It was a bunch of preaching. If you think a novel without a plot and characters for 50,000 words is impossible, look no further. >.<;; It was horrid to write, but did teach me quite a bit about the fictional religious system I made up. This one is about sheep jumping fences because someone said it couldn't be interesting. Since I have this thing about sheep (as a joke) I thought I could take it up, but I only started on November 12th! >.<;; Gahhh... so I have to double up the word count. They chatter incessantly about how stupid humans are, and then I highly disagree with them. (partially why it's hard to write is because they babble, but it has no content...)
In June there is a script Nanowrimo which I want to partake of. This one is to complete a screenplay or a script... I'm not sure of the rules yet, but this might be worth trying if you are bogged down in November. I have two ideas for that, one I know I can't do because I can't find a guy to do it with me and the other one I can do on my own. The first one would be a play with exactly two people in it. It would be a social running parody on gender roles and kind of PG-13 and up rated. One guy, one woman... and then scenes where they act out and then they would do their monologues to the audience to comment on the scene on their POV. I need a guy to write it with who isn't shy about talking about women in gender roles and isn't shy about admitting bodily functions and sex. I think it could be hilarious, especially if the monologues interact with each other like dialogue. Would work well as a play because of the limited cast, etc (I took acting lessons when I was little in a theater, so I have a sense of it, never actually acted in anything though....) The other one I term "the ultimate chic flick" which is about reincarnation over time between a guy (who does not physically change), and another soul, so like soulmates. The Other soul starts out as a dog, turns into a friend (guy) and for the censorship shocker, turns into a woman in the last life where they fall in love. The guy will appear the same throughout (I am imagining that it could be made, so the producers will insist on a central actor to play the lead) and then changing time periods... (I keep picturing regency period for the dog...) I would have liked to make this into a Korean film, but my lack of knowledge in Korean kind of limits that. (I'd choose Three Kingdoms, The Occupation/Korean war then present day). I've *always* wanted to do a good reincarnation story where it shows changes in a character over a long period of time, where one wish from a previous life can affect the next life. The original arc of reincarnation I had was longer, but that's more for a book than for the screen.
As for the sheep thing, it's kind of a pun on a few things. (I'm particularly fond of interlingual puns). 金潤美 is the hanja of my Korean name Kim Yunmi. If you break down the last hanja into its radical parts you get: 大 and 羊 which means beautiful since China was an agricultural/pastoral society. Sheep also is a play on my American name. 金 means gold 潤 means bright (in Korean, also means moist, but for names means bright, in Japan to my chagrin it means only moist *cough*) Thus, I replaced the middle kanji with "no" and got Kinno Hitsuji, and made bad jokes about Jason chasing after me (I payed with that with a Jason I knew online). Consequently people call me Sheep too... It's a way to honor my Korean and American names. I usually do that with all my pen names... Being a writer I have a naming fetish too. Though someone already managed to give me over 600 nicknames. ^^;; --Hitsuji Kinno 04:51, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Jellybeans

You have been awarded these Jelly Beans from -The Doctor- Please, enjoy them.

Here are some Jelly beans for you. I love jelly beans as they have sugar in them and most people love sugar. But on the other hand just receiving somthing from somone else just makes you happy and also just giving this to you makes me happy. I hope to spread the jelly beans all over Wikipedia, so here, you can have this lot. Please enjoy them. (I like the lime ones.)

Editors need a bit of a sugar high too.

Hello again

Hi there. You might not remember me, I did a bit of editing on a couple Sailor Moon pages a while back. Since then I have taken the plunge and signed up. I haven't done much with the Sailor Moon articles since then, you guys seem to have that covered. I've been focusing my attention on other areas of interest, specifically Dragon Ball articles. Sadly, Dragon Ball on Wikipedia has gotten a bad rap. There's a lot of incorrect information, dub-centricity, and all-round sloppiness. I thought this was simply due to a lack of interest on the part of Dragon Ball fans. And while I'm happy to say that fans are indeed putting forth great effort, the reason there's such a lack of quality on the articles is because these people are being opposed by people who say things like

"Anything not English is not relevant."

Yeah. I nearly soiled myself at that one. And that's an administrator.

So, there seems like no other course of action other than a full scale assault on DB pages. I've concluded that the best way to do that would be to start a Wikipedia Project for Dragon Ball. Not individual arguments on random Talk pages, not back ally deals about what page gets changed -a full-on Guideline backed Project. But, as I'm very new to the nuances of Wikipedia, I'm unsure as to how to go about doing that.

I've begun placing preliminary information on my Talk Page, and would greatly appriciate your help in "getting the Dragon Ball rolling", if you'll excuse the pun.

Thanks for your time. -- DesireCampbell 14:47, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

About The Correction

Sailor Moon was an adult show before it was sent to America. Search it on google. It was an adult cartoon. so before you tell someone to check their facts make sure you check your first.
