A tag has been placed on File:Bagramyan equestrian statue.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. June 2013[edit]

To enforce an arbitration decision, and for disruptive editing and BLP issues on the page Hamid Algar,
you have been blocked from editing for 72 hours. You are welcome to make useful contributions once the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing arbitration enforcement blocks and then appeal your block using the instructions there. Bbb23 (talk) 00:58, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder to administrators: In March 2010, ArbCom adopted a procedure prohibiting administrators "from reversing or overturning (explicitly or in substance) any action taken by another administrator pursuant to the terms of an active arbitration remedy, and explicitly noted as being taken to enforce said remedy, except: (a) with the written authorization of the Committee, or (b) following a clear, substantial, and active consensus of uninvolved editors at a community discussion noticeboard (such as WP:AN or WP:ANI). If consensus in such discussions is hard to judge or unclear, the parties should submit a request for clarification on the proper page." Administrators who reverse an arbitration enforcement block, such as this one, without clear authorisation will be summarily desysopped.

So....I guess the fact that I supported the quotations and added new, and what most would consider as neutral, reliable sources and worded them in a similarly neutral language and went through the trouble of italicizing a journal title did not really earn me enough brownie points to avoid a block?--Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 02:09, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you care, please take a look at it and make the necessary edits.

Matsoni). Я плохо знаю английский язык, мне трудно объяснить администраторам суть конфликта. пожалуйста не оставайтесь в стороне.--Lori-m (talk) 07:30, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. JediXmaster (talk) 04:58, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Warning[edit]

First of all, I do not appreciate your tone. Your block history for disruptive editing looks a lot worse than mine, so if I were you, I would think twice before saying something like "Editors have indulged in your problematic edits long enough". Also, please speak for yourself.

Second of all, I reverted back to the agreed version which an IP vandalized back in November. Revisiting articles years later is actually the best way to make sure that biased anons have not ruined articles that users have worked and argued on so much to put together. And the fact that you have followed my articles to revert things you seem uncomfortable with goes to show that you are willing to indulge disruptive anonymous users. Are these the "editors" you were talking about? Parishan (talk) 15:46, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and revisiting articles later is not being sneaky. I am not so ignorant as to not keep in mind that a thoughtful user may have them on their watchlist. Parishan (talk) 15:47, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe I have anything to explain myself for. And like I said, please speak for yourself; unless there has been a coordinated collective effort to follow and respond to my activity on Wikipedia, you are not in the position to know if indeed "other editors have often abstained from reporting" me. As for me, I did nothing wrong. I simply restored the previously agreed version, and an IP's disruptive edit (regardless how much it may conform to your own POV) is not enough for you to attack me in the way you are doing now. Whereas I do appreciate the fact that you chose to contact me before deciding to report me, I wish you lowered your tone a bit; this would make our communication a lot more efficient next time. Thank you. Parishan (talk) 17:15, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Karabakh map.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Karabakh map.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:12, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear ask the linguists about the below:

Explanation[edit]

There are few exeptions in the Armenian language regarding some consonants following the letter Ր.

Hence:

  • Գ after Ր turns into K. (example: SARKIS and not Sargis, GEVORK and not Gevorg)
  • Դ after Ր turns into T. (example: VARTAN and not Vardan)
  • Բ after Ր turns into P. (example: SURP and not Surb)

Thanks for understanding.--Zyzzzzzy (talk) 06:53, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a matter of "transcribing foreign names and words in Wikipedia", this is a matter of linguistics in the EASTERN Armenian language.--Zyzzzzzy (talk) 07:01, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are you aware of the ongoing debate in Armenia over Anastas Mikoyan and whether his statue should be erected in Yerevan or not? What about the new (or newly publicized) documents that Genocide Institute director Hayk Demoyan has talked about? Have you heard about this and is there anything worthy? Need to keep an eye on user:Steverci[edit]

This editor changes the meaning of a sentence in the lead of the Armenian language article to reflect the opposite of what the body of the article clearly states.[4]

From, "Its vocabulary has been heavily influenced by Western Middle Iranian languages, particularly Parthian, and to a lesser extent by Greek, Latin, Old French, Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and other languages throughout its history."
to, "Its vocabulary has heavily influenced Western Middle Iranian languages, particularly Parthian, and to a lesser extent Greek, Latin, Old French, Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and other languages throughout its history."

Whereas, according the the body of the article, "The classical language imported numerous words from Middle Iranian languages, primarily Parthian, and contains smaller inventories of borrowings from Greek, Syriac, Latin, and autochthonous languages such as Urartian. Middle Armenian (11th–15th centuries AD) incorporated further loans from Arabic, Turkish, Persian, and Latin, and the modern dialects took in hundreds of additional words from Modern Turkish and Persian. Therefore, determining the historical evolution of Armenian is particularly difficult because Armenian borrowed many words from Parthian and Persian (both Iranian languages) as well as from Greek."

This type of "editing" is worse than disruptive, it is deceptive. Changing the wording of an article to suit a particular editor's opinion/view. I have reverted the edit, but doubt that user:Steverci will use the talk page, since he does not use edit summaries to explain his edits.[5] --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:05, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aram Manukian[edit]

Barev! I have a question/request regarding Aram Manukian (my draft). Turkish sources claim he was either directly or indirectly involved in the assassination of Bedros Kapamajian, who was mayor of Van in 1908-12. The source cited in the article says he murder Kapamajian. While This article titled "Armenian Allegations and the Facts" in the Turkish Ministry of Culture written by Hasan Oktay (a historian in Yüzüncü Yıl University in Van) states

Have you come across any information about this? Was Kapamajian really murdered? Is this fact disputed or not? Was Aram ever arrested? He seems to have been. If so, when and in what circumstances was he released? What do impartial reliable sources say? Thanks in advance. --Երևանցի talk 02:58, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Karabakh War[edit]

You might wanna take a look at the last edits on Nagorno-Karabakh War. A lot of stuff was added without any discussion. --Երևանցի talk 04:28, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Soghomon[edit]

Hello Marshall,

Those accounts are based on Soghomon's trial. He testified that he saw his brother's skull cleaved with an axe and sister raped. I don't think Avakian's source may be reliable, but his trial is. Étienne Dolet (talk) 19:49, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He lied in court. He may have stated that so that the jury would find him not guilty and made the whole up. The truth of the matter is that he was hundreds of miles away, studying I believe in Belgrade, and did not return to his hometown until 1915-16. Oddly enough, the one source that got this all correct was the Armenian Soviet Encyclopedia, which I'll add as a source once I find the citation.--Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 20:10, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Akram Aylisli[edit]

Dear colleague!

Explaine me please the reasons why You deleted my edition of the article about Akram Aylisli? IMHO I made the article more informative and structured. I kept all the points (and the notes) from the previous editions, but just replaced them in a special chapters. What's wrong?

Thanks Shura Burtin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burtin (talkcontribs) 21:08, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling and grammatical errors too many to count, missing source template details, not to mention 10,000 bytes of information that are not easy to check or analyze. Not all of it is bad, but try introducing those edits piecemeal and don't go overboard in emphasizing points - keep it short and concise.--Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 22:13, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Atropatene & Caucasian Albania[edit]

Azeris are constantly trying to add a history of azerbaijan template to the Atropatene and Caucasian Albania articles. I saw you were involved in a discussion previosuly and was wondering if you could offer some words to the topic. I stated that just because they were located on the current republic of Azerbaijan doesnt make them part of Azerbaijan's history and said if we think like that then we should add a history of Armenia template to the Caucasian Albania article as well as the Azerbaijan article as Armenia used to control territory that encompassed those areas. It appears user:Հայկ Ափրիկյան has returned with supposed sources. Most either in Russian or Armenian. The two sources I could read do not state Armenian victory. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Clash of 2016

Hi

this was all over the news yesterday. I have read your contributions of the article and since you are interested I was wondering if you have read anything about it being a way to divert the attention from the upcoming tax haven scandal... sources close to Putin made statements few days ago supporting they knew the info about the Russian president will be released. I guess the concerned ones were aware it leaked and that it will soon come to the media. As you may know Azerbaijani president family is mentioned in the documents and the timing is enough close to cause significant suspicion in nationalistic medias from either sides which are fast making broad claims. If there is also any info about involvements from officials from the Armenian side or speculations from media from either side about such a strategic move. Edit War[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection.

Please refrain from engaging in edit war on 2016 Armenian–Azerbaijani clashes discuss the issues on talk page Agulani (talk) 08:03, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. Please re-visit the definition of "edit war".--Marshal Bagramyan (talk) 15:21, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Important[edit]

I thought you might be interested in the current discussion going on here, since I believe you tried to bring about a similar change before. --Oatitonimly (talk) 03:52, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because of the POV language I have removed the section "Destruction" on the page the "Yuxarı Əylis" first time by edited you but you restored it mention that it is not POV as if it has reliable source.... after that for keeping balance I've edited it again with reliable sources. In order to keep balance and neutrality, I think it would be better to remove section "Destruction". If for you my edit is POV on section "Destruction" then your edit is also POV in my opinion due its sensitive question for Armenians and Azerbaijanis. Thanks. Freedom Wolfs (talk) 11:02, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To ceased your act on the page and do respect to the others, you are speaking in the language of intimidation with me and it is totally unacceptable. You should keep the balance. Please, follow the Wikipedia policy. Thanks Freedom Wolfs (talk) 22:50, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me MarshallBagramyan for hopping in here, but I'd like to add that your concerns regarding the disruptive editorial pattern of "Freedom Wolfs" were pretty well founded. Amongst the many prime examples that reinforce this, here said user removed the word "Persian" from the medieval Persian figure Babak Khorramdin, and replaced his area of activity to "Iran and Azerbaijan", even though there was no such thing as the Republic of Azerbaijan and the usage of the word "Azerbaijan" for the territory to the north of the Aras until 1918. Another one thats also worth noting is this one, where he adds that "Garabaghlar was one of the ancient cities of the Azerbaijan", when again, there was absolutely no such thing as "Azerbaijan" back then (other than the area of NW Iran, but referring to that surely wasn't his intention). Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 17:49, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Glad I'm not the only one who is concerned with his edits. I think if this behavior continues, the administrators at ArbCom 2 should step in and take a look at it. Vartkes Yeghiayan[edit]

Hello, Vartkes Yeghiayan is a fraud that needs to be exposed. I don't see why his fraudulent actions should not be posted. Wikipedia's rules say: "We must get the article right. Be very firm about the use of high-quality sources". California's State Bar is as high-quality a source as you can get. I am not an expert in Wikipedia editing, but where does it say that pending civil/criminal investigation can't be posted? There are numerous articled that have information about a person's legal/unethical actions. Senator John McCain's involvement in the Keating 5 as one example as his page talks about that scandal. Yeghiayan has sold himself as a champion of Armenian rights and someone reading his bio on Wikipedia would not know what a scumbag he is. Replaceable fair use File:Isakov is.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Isakov is.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:14, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Formal mediation has been requested[edit]

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Disagreement about the reliability and neutrality of sources in the article of Nagorno-Karabakh". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 26 January 2018.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

October 2020[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
So far I've counted three reverts, so I'm putting this warning up for admins' convenience. Minima© (talk) 17:36, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Armenia/Azerbaijan discretionary sanctions[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
