August 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Walter Görlitz. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Darrell Mansfield without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Comana[edit]

I did report you, and I was advised to take things to another forum, but since I'd really rather not get bogged down in that sort of process, can we just sort of stop this nonsense?

  • Wikipedia uses diacritics, so the kind of argument you're presenting against them isn't going to fly. Or if it is, it's going to be across the project, not just on one article.
  • There is something called summary style. Familiarize yourself with it. We're not going to duplicate an entire chunk of text. The monastery is notable in its own right, it's mentioned in the commune article but has its own article now where the longer text belongs.
  • The same photo is in the monastery article. I put in a slightly different one showing more of the commune.

Are we done with the nonsense now? - Biruitorul Talk 03:05, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Let's get a couple of things straight here:
    • What the article looked like in June 2013 or September 2011 or May 2008 or, for that matter, in November 2007 when it was started, is not particularly relevant. What is relevant is what it should look like today.
    • Actually, the idea is that when a new article A on a new topic A is started, as much information as is logical is transferred from old article B into new article A. Do read WP:SPLIT.
    • Try getting the following articles moved to non-diacritics versions: Łódź, Gdańsk, Havířov, Plzeň, Düsseldorf. You won't get very far. Try it for Timișoara, Iași, Constanța, Brașov, Galați, Ploiești, Brăila, Pitești. The result will be much the same.
    • Finally, see WP:3RR. You can't just revert at will here. You will be blocked if this continues. - Biruitorul Talk 03:22, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
