hangon - I am creating biographical representattion of myself and my credentials as a Certified Financial Planner. I promote financial planning and financial wellness in my community and I want a place for people to view my biography. I do a lot of pro-bono work to help those less fortuninate. It would appear that you let James Cramer of Mad Money promote himself --- I don't see the harm in me creating a biography? or do you --- explain thoroughly as I will contact a manager if I am not satisfied.

There are plenty of free web hosts where you can do just that. If you are having trouble finding one I can point you to several - yahoo.com is a good one, for example. However Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a free web host and you are not permitted to use it for self-promotion. There is no evidence you meet Wikipedia's criteria for biographical articles and you should generally not write articles about yourself since you are not an unbiased party. The article about Jim Cramer was not written by him and he has significant media coverage which was what the article was based on. Please read our core policy on verifiability. Unless you have media coverage of a similar range and depth as someone like Cramer, we cannot create an article about you. There are no managers on Wikipedia - it is volunteer run. Notability of Mark R. Gagnon, CFP[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mark R. Gagnon, CFP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. Mark, I am sorry if you felt that I spoke down to you. User:Basketball110 and I left you detailed messages that I believe clearly explained the issues with your article. Despite these you continued to recreate the exact same article at such a speed that it became obvious that you had not read the messages and the accompanying linked Wikipedia policies. I am confident that if you had taken the time to read the messages left for you and the appropriate policies you would have understood why the article you created was not appropriate. Speedy deletion of Choosing a Certified Financial Planner by Mark R. Gagnon ,CFP[edit]

A tag has been placed on Choosing a Certified Financial Planner by Mark R. Gagnon ,CFP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." Mark, to follow up on what Baseball110 says above: the article at User:Markg67 as it stands is not suitable for use as a Wikipedia article. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that all information in articles must be verifiable by readers. This means that the source of all information must be available to readers so they can check what is written. This means that you must cite your sources and you must not include your own personal opinions or original research in articles. As it stands, this seems to be an essay you have written about choosing a financial adviser. As such it is based on your opinions, not on published, independent sources.
