Your grandfather's article[edit]

Hi Maria - nice to meet you. If you post underneath me here I'll see it as I am 'watching' this page. Please let me know what article it is (I edit a lot!) and what helps you need with it. Many thanks, GiantSnowman 10:34, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'm so sorry but I genuinely have no idea about Wikipedia other than people tend to look things up on it - but I'm way past the age of needing to actually do any specific study on anything!!. My grandfather was Andrew Carr from Burradon and he was the footballer you made the edit on. I'm not sure who inserted the original post with his clubs but from my own knowledge the dates were slightly off. My maiden name is Carr (Maria Daly is my married name) and my brother Matthew also played professionally (for Northampton Town, Cork City, Waterford), my great uncle Wilf (grandpa's brother) for Newcastle, and Wilf's son and our cousin Graham (who managed Northampton when my brother Matthew played for the town). My grandfather, after his final game, eventually scouted for Man Utd for his old friend Matt Busby, for many years after he finished playing himself. I don't live in the UK - but live just outside Charlotte, NC though the rest of the family remain in the UK. I just thought that you might want to have a photo to go with the Wikipedia page for him as I do have several of the originals from his playing days, which I know both my brothers do not have in the UK. I'm not really sure about Wikipedia but it seems that by reading the 'edits' from others - you obviously get stuck with many imposters! That being said - please don't hesitate to reach out by email should you need the photo as it won't allow me to upload one as I don't 'edit' on a regular basis. In any event, let me know. I'm easy to reach on mariadaly@ymail.com.

Hi Maria - if you own the copyright to the photo, or have the permission of the person who does, you can upload the photo via Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard. Once you have done that let me know and I will add to the article on your grandfather. GiantSnowman 19:23, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
PS please ignore the editor who accused you of being an impostor, they have been blocked for disruption. You should also be careful about revealing personal details about yourself, including name, location and email address...let me know if you want me to redact them for you. Yes please! If you can redact my info, that would be great. Like I said, I'm really not familiar with how to do this at all. Thanks for the info on uploading the photo. I'll get my son to help me with that!
