Frascati DOCG and Frascati Cannellino[edit]

Dear Mamilius. Thank you for following up with me at my talk page about your articles. I love wine and I encourage you to try again. The reason I rejected your articles is that they were single source articles and not all of the information in those articles came from the source your cited. English Wikipedia has its own set of policies and guidelines as per the links I provided in my welcome message to you. In order to meet those guidelines, your subject has to be notable and in order to establish notability you need to cite multiple, independent and reliable sources. These sources need to be published sources and should have significantly discussed, reviewed, noted, and/or analysed your subject. I have had a look at the Italian article on Frascati Cannellino, for instance, and the article cites 14 sources. While there is no set number of sources that must be cited for any Wikipedia article, a single legal notice from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry recognizing and approving the denomination of wine within the controlled region does not establish the notability of the subject, but rather merely that it legally exists.

Further, you will need to be careful when writing an encyclopedia article about these subjects not to include original research or your own knowledge - all information must come from reliable, third party sources so that the reader can verify the information. You indicated in your message to me: "I wanted to make it in English and also adding some information which is missing from the italian article, since I know how was really done!" I have no doubt you do know that, but a reader can't call you up to verify it so the information must come from published sources.

As for other articles you have seen of lesser quality, that may well be true, but experienced reviewers try to ensure that Wikipedia maintains its credibility by applying a set of standards uniformly to all articles. You are correct that some articles are created that don't meet those standards and that is why a dedicated group of volunteers comb the articles constantly to make improvements to them if possible and, if not, to nominate them for deletion.

I hope this is of some help. If you revise your articles to add citations to reliable sources and drop me a note, I would be happy to look at them again. I just did a google search and it appears there are lots and lots of reliable online sources available so please don't go away frustrated - do revise and resubmit your articles!
