Do not add false information[edit]

You seem to have a bad habit of adding false information to Wikipedia pages. Your recent edits to the page for One Republic's song "Apologize" included a number of misstatements in the author, description, and release information. Repitition of such edits will be considered vandalism and reported accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.9.8.150 (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nochmals ...[edit]

  1. Mariah-Charts.com ist KEINE zuverlässige Quelle ...
Never Say Never veröffentlicht waren (siehe Vh1 Divas 1998)

    1. VH1 Divas chartet als Whitney/Cher/Tina/Brandy und nicht Verschiedene Interpreten. Außerdem... ein Live-Album enthält so gut wie nie neue Songs - Sie sind einfach live - The Best of Brandy enthält auch "nur" alte Songs.
  6. Bitte hör auch Full Moon (album) zurückzusetzen, deine Revisions löschen zulässiges Quellenmaterial. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noboyo (talkcontribs) 16:46, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brandy does not belong on this list[edit]

The List of artists who reached number one on the U.S. Dance chart pertains to the Hot Dance Club Play chart. It has nothing to do with the Maxi-Singles Sales chart. Please stop adding incorrect info here. Thanks. - eo 21:06, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DawninOneShot.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DawninOneShot.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Wieder einmal ...[edit]

Nochmals: "Afrodisiac" wurde NACH "Who Is She 2 U" (global gesehen) veröffentlicht ...
  2. Timbaland is nicht auf "Who Is She 2 U" als offizielles Feature angegeben (wie du dem Booklet entnehmen kannst), ich wäre dir also dankbar, wenn du ihn nicht ständig hinzulisten würdest.

Danke schön ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noboyo (talkcontribs) 16:47, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Brandy2007.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:21, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There we are ...[edit]

Hi.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Noboyo (talkcontribs) 21:37, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Tiny Kong.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tiny Kong.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Redirect of Ray J Un-Kut[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ray J Un-Kut, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ray J Un-Kut is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ray J Un-Kut, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Thevideos.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Thevideos.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have additional chart information to place in a discography, please ADD it to what is already shown in the table. Please do not replace (remove) a column with your data without any type of explanation as to why. - eo (talk) 16:19, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your reason(s) for removing Austria make sense, however, you never enter any edit summaries, so there is no way for anyone to know what you're doing or why. If you're going to do something like this, please just write an edit summary or a quick note on the Talk Page. - eo (talk) 16:31, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:User Brandy[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:User Brandy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Brandy[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Brandy discography, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Rename of Sleep On It[edit]

In the future, please discuss such a rename before implementing. The song you replaced the page with does not meet WP:MUSIC and is not notable, so it should not even have an article, much less replace the article of a notable television series. I have redirected Sleep On It to the television series, and the song article was moved to Sleep On It (song) and redirected back to the album article per WP:MUSIC. Again, before doing such a drastic action in the future, I strongly suggest you start a discussion on the talk page first to ensure that what you are planning is appropriate, and in keeping with Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks for uploading Image:SittinUpInMyRoom.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Rollback of Angels (song)[edit]

Just to let you know I rolled back your edits to the above article as per WP:D I feel that people typing in Angels (song) would expect the Robbie Williams song. The disambiguation page linked to was one Angel (disambiguation) and mostly the other notable songs on this disambiguation page were called Angel not Angels, so I see no need for the Angles (song) redirect target to be that page. If you disagree I'm most open to discussion. Thanks Rambo's Revenge (talk) 10:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Shake Your Pom Pom, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Ching-a-Ling. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page.

Danke, Noboyo

Ih werde deine edits enstprechend rückgängig machen, Danke. - Noboyo, September 26, 2008

Müssen wir das wirklich nochmal ausdisuktieren? - Noboyo

And again and again ...[edit]

It feels like we had 1000s of discussions about that but okay, once again:

  1. Please, do not revert the Brandy discography article. With your revisions you are removing sourced content (singles information, sources about certification data of the CRIA and BPI etc.) ...
These are not important in an discography (only domestical sales plus international sales) that's it the rest can be looked up in the album's article. singles informations are not being removed anyways
Who say's this is not important?
Cuz otherwise SNEp or IFPI or whateva would all have to be part of the discography
So add it, whatever. Sorry, but you just can't invent guidelines for WP.
Who the hell says these are the guidelines?????????!!!!!!!

.......You: These are not important in an discography ... (cit.)

What I'm sayin don'tchu agree with me when i say its better to make the atricle quite plain and understandable for anybody with further detailed information featured on the album's article.
  1. Please, do not add the Divas Live '99 to the discography. It's a live compilation album, including songs by various singers and is not considered canon of the Brandy discography as she appears on three tracks only. Thus, it is listed under the 'appearances' section.
The official Billboard charts credit the album as "Brandy", "Tina Turner", "Cher" and "Whitney Houston" so... forget it
Once again: You should not focus on singles sources!!
i didn't remove any source.
That's not what I said: You should not focus on singles sources!!
Whatchu mean by that i aint focusin' on any singles sources
You just can't say: Billboard says and that's it ...
of course the whole Wikipedia thang is based on sources. Who can tell better than billboard if the album should be counted as compilation or collaboration album It's obviously the latter.
Don't lnow who says Billboard is reliable, but is lists a lot of commercial stufff. But, please, think about it: Brandy appears on three songs on the album - and those are not even of original content.
Of course it is just 3 songs because it's a collaboration album. It's split 3 out of 12 is on quarte. 4 artits on album. Each gets to sing in about 3 or 4 songs. That makes sense.
It makes no sense as there's in not any new material on it's just no collaboration album. By the way: It hasn't even been released by Atlantic Records, Brandy former record label.
  1. Your point on Brandy discography:
  • The video of "Stunt 101" features Brandy - not the song!
  • Brandy did many songs on which her background vocals appear but they should NOT be included on her singles discography.
  • "He Is" and "Angel in "Disguise" are singles! Check the sources on the "He Is" article page. (By the way: "Angel in Disguise" even appeard on the The Best of Brandy album.
  • R and B album hasn'T even been recorded so it should not be included on the discography page.
So He Is didnt receive a commercial CD release neither did Angel In Disguise. That is what counts not the fact that AID appeared on TBOB
A commercial CD single release does not qualify it for making it a single. It's a single, when its referred to as such.
How can U Tell R&B was recorde or not. This source fore example says, one of many sources by the way, that they are currently working on it. U really need to read the definition of "single" (see Single) becausea single is basicly the commercial release of a CD, cassette and or a digital download featuring a hit song.
Doesn't really matter if recorded or not. It's still unreleased (no date has even been mentioned) so it shouldn't be included on the albbum section ... its says Singles are distributed through a number of ways - and that's actually right, ieven if it's a legal (!) download single only.
If u think like that that why would you not include for example Turn it up as a single
Because it's never been adressed as a single! Right from the start is was always proclaimed as a "buzz track"!
"adressed" there is no need for it to be adressed. Either it is a commercial single or it isnt and it's not because no CD, no cassette, no download, no video, no nuthin. The same with AID, and HI.
there is no need for it to be adressed - of course it needs to. "He Is" just has been announced as a single and had a release date and a promotional CD single - with a cover!
Turn it up has a cover too. But it makes no sense. we need a resolution. So my proposal is Stunt 101 will leave, so do RIAA, CRIA, BPI. He Is and AID will be included on the singles table. The rest remains. is that good for ya???
I appreaciate the fact you wanna come to and end. But, to come back to where we started: VH1 Divas 99 is a compilation album, and R and B has not been released yet. tha albums are Brandy albums. R and Be already has a title and a tentative release date (spring/summer 2009). Human is also featured on the discography. The Divas CD is featured on almost every single discography who is featured in VH1D (Mariah Carey discography, Cher discography, Tina Turner discography, Whitney Houston discography and many more)
So remove Human, and you're correct!! ... It's listed on the pages, because YOU added them long time ago. Btw: It is listed on Brandy discography, but just not as of her albums (but in the appearances section)

Thank You - Noboyo

Thanks for uploading File:Right here cover.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

February 2009[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Image copyright problem with File:Takin Back My Love.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Takin Back My Love.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:40, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Sarah Connor Takin Back My Love.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Sarah Connor Takin Back My Love.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Additionally, if you continue uploading bad images, you may be blocked from uploading. STBotI (talk) 17:46, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Brandytour.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Brandytour.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Never Say Never World Tour[edit]

A tag has been placed on Never Say Never World Tour requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Orphaned non-free media (File:Almostdoesntcount.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Almostdoesntcount.jpg.

File copyright problem with File:Brandy - Human World Tour 2.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Brandy - Human World Tour 2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 02:21, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello there great job on the Portal:Brandy... I have one concern, that is use of non-fair images are not allowed in portals...I will see if i can find some..I will not delete them but i cant stop others from removing the images!!!...Moxy (talk) 16:32, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have left a message for help here -->User talk:Leahtwosaints#Hello!!.........Moxy (talk) 16:37, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for warning me, but is it that they are just non-fair for the use in the Portal or are they non-fair in general, because the pictures are used in several other articles for years now.
Its odd but for some odd reason non-fair images are just not allowed in portals even if they are allowed in the article the portal links to. Why this is i have no clue..But there are a few editors thats that is all they do is deface Portal by deleting images and not taking the time to find and replace them..Moxy (talk) 17:04, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Brandy: Special Delivery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Speedy deletion[edit]

I nominated that ridiculous article because the idea that a reality TV series would be made for MTV following the pregnancy of a total nobody is too nonsensical even for the heavily commercialised media industry of America, widely reckoned to be the most stupid of all Western nations. Clearly a hoax. Even if it's true, it doesn't deserve a place here, it's just not notable.--Voxpuppet (talkcontribs) 02:19, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell, are you talking. This is as much a relevant TV-show, like the ones by The Osbournes, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, Monica, Keyshia Cole, Fantasia, Ray J, The Kardashians, Diddy and many many countless others... And to call Brandy a nobody is just stupid, I am sorry. Malcolmo (talk) 02:27, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the nomination. I agree that Voxpuppet's nomination was completely inappropriate, and am discussing it with him.—Kww(talk) 03:02, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my God. I've just looked at all that crap to do with celeb reality TV and all I can say is thank God I don't live in America. You poor thing. I apologise, you've got enough crap in your life just being in a country that will put up with that rubbish. --Voxpuppet (talkcontribs) 03:11, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page Move[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Der Schuh des Manitu, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- Valerius Myotis (talk) 07:08, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business[edit]

Hi, it would be great if we could avoid quoting episode summaries on Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business. The problem is that now nearly 100 percent of the page is quotations, which is borderline on a copyright violation. We can certainly paraphrase, but copy-and-paste is a bad idea. Thanks! Each Tear[edit]

Dear user, you apppear to be having trouble with understanding the nature of non-free images in the article Each Tear by Mary J. Blige. The policy for non-free content if found at WP:NFCC. It clearly states two conditions (#3, #8) which apply to this article:

  • non-free images must only be used where they enhance a reader's understanding of the article content
  • normally articles should only contain one' non-free image.

As the covers for the various versions of the single are similar with the same colour background and text the only the thing that changes is the superimposed image of the featured artist the additional covers cannot be justified. they do not add something which cannot be explained in text. I will replace the single cover with the international EP cover which uses just Mary J Blige in order to prevent bias. Please do not upload the other images again. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 16:30, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kelly Rowland discography[edit]

I have undone your edits for the following reasons:

  1. At WP:record charts it clearly and specifically states that sources must be primary and licensed as well as clearly showing a song's chart positions. There is no source for the position 109 because it doesn't exist. The bubbling under charts should not be added on top of the regular Hot 100.
  2. "Everywhere You Go" is a Kelly Rowland song (its in her chronology, on her website, in the media as her release) featuring Africa United therefore how can she be a featured artist on it?
  3. "Shake Them Haterz" was never released, it was replaced by "Grown Woman" and "Rose Colored Glasses" as demonstrated on their article pages and at Kelly Rowland. Lil-unique1 (talk) 16:15, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:R kelly happy people.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:R kelly happy people.jpg.

You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Peripitus (Talk) 21:52, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Brandy, Ray J & Willie Norwood Talk To me.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Brandy, Ray J & Willie Norwood Talk To me.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 19:05, 16 April 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. List of best selling music artists[edit]

Please refrain from inserting artists with unreliable sources and incorrect certified sales. At the List of best-selling music artists, we are to use highly reliable sources, preferably news services such as CNN, Fox News, The Washington Post etc.. As for Bet.com for R. Kelly, not only is it unreliable but it doesn't contain a sales figure. I have gone over R. Kelly's certified sales (which you can find here) and I'd like to inform you that your posted certified sales for every single market is incorrect. R. Kelly's total for U.S. market is 43.5 million including albums, singles, videos and duo collaborations. Please discuss your certified sales in details before editing the list.--Harout72 (talk) 00:02, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but Black Entertainment Television is surely a reliable source. It is one of the country's biggest networks. And the link clearly states "150 million". I will add R. Kelly to the list again. If I make any formal mistakes, I'd be thankful if one corrected them, instead of just deleting everything. Malcolmo (talk) 00:16, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No it is not reliable for that list, please look at all other sources supporting the sales figures of other artists, they are coming from prestigious news services. Please don't make me start issuing you warnings for disruptive editing.--Harout72 (talk) 00:26, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing

You might also want to familiarize yourself with the required percentages for certified sales which are posted in the second box from top at Talk:List of best-selling music artists. That said, R. Kelly has begun charting in 1992, which requires his claimed figures be supported by 38% certified sales. R. Kelly's available certified sales are 49.5 from all of the music markets combined; therefore, his claimed figure cannot be more than 130 million. In other words, R. Kelly can only be inserted into the List of best-selling music artists with 130 million claim.--Harout72 (talk) 00:26, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Racist? Please be careful with your language as it might very easily get you to WP:AN/I for such an accusation. Please follow the policy of the List of best-selling music artists. Your source does not have a sales figure within.--Harout72 (talk) 00:31, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Eventhough I fail to realise, how one would consider BET to be non-reliable... I will add R. Kelly in the 50 million section based on another source. That of course if Time magazine is regarded to be reliable enough... http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1621217,00.html Malcolmo (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that will certainly do it, but make sure to use the certain sales here that I have retrieved with correct certification-levels for all other markets. Be sure not to post more than 43.4 for U.S. market as they all have to be verifiable.--Harout72 (talk) 00:47, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You forgot to include other collaborations like "Wonderful" by Ja Rule, "Be Careful" by Sparkle, "I'm Your Angel" with Céline Dion, "Hotel" by Cassidy, "Back & Forth" by Aaliyah etc. The album "Born Into The 90's" with Public Announcement and their four hit singles together. How should I handle that? Malcolmo (talk) 01:03, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We are to include certification of duo collaborations only. Collaborations of more than two artists should not be included in certified sales; therefore I left out "Wonderful" by Ja Rule featuring R. Kelly and Ashanti.
  • The collaboration album, Born into the '90s cannot be found in RIAA.
  • Sparkle has only one certification by RIAA, and it's the album Sparkle, no "Be Careful" can be found in the RIAA's database.
  • RIAA doesn't have any certifications for "I'm Your Angel" single by R. Kelly and Celine Dion.
  • "Hotel" by Cassidy cannot be found either in RIAA's database.
  • "Back & Forth" is a single by Aaliyah only, written by R. Kelly.
So, we're left with 43.4 million for the U.S.--Harout72 (talk) 01:24, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Public Announcement certifications
R. Kelly performs the rap in Aaliyah's "Back & Forth"
About "I'm Your Angel", "Hotel" I wasnt sure... So I guess they are uncertified, and I did not know about this rule regarding collaborations.

Malcolmo (talk) 01:36, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch on Born Into the 90's, I typed in Public Announcement and the database didn't bring up results for that. As for Aaliyah's "Back & Forth", I believe we should leave its certification out as R. Kelly doesn't seem to have been officially credited for his Rap performance. In other words, his name isn't even included on the cover of the single, nor is it included in RIAA's database for "Back & Forth". So that brings our U.S. total to 44.4 million including Born Into the 90's.--Harout72 (talk) 01:58, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MTV is highly reliable, Bet.com should not be compared to MTV. MTV is one of the fewest Music Industry related organizations that we consider reliable at List of best-selling music artists, Billboard Magazine and VH1 are considered reliable as well. If there are claimed figures by any of those organizations for R. Kelly or Toni Braxton, feel free to provide them. You can also post your desired sources at WP:RSN to get the folks on there to provide you with further explanation as to why such sources like Bet.com cannot be compared to sources like MTV.--Harout72 (talk) 01:07, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly differentiates MTV and VH1 from BET. I am intrigued to find out? Can you elaborate on that further? Malcolmo (talk) 05:12, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an expert in editorials, that's why I suggested above, that you asked the folks at WP:RSN as there are some knowledgeable editors on there who explain to you the difference between BET and MTV. However, when analyzing sales figures, I weigh the reliability of sources by putting artists' available certified sales into work. In the case of R. Kelly, the 150 million claim by BET is plain inflated, and honestly, I havn't seen neither MTV nor VH1 publish figures inflated by that scale. The 50 million in certified sales-which is what R. Kelly has-can translate into some 70 million in actual sales, considering that he's begun charting in 1992 and the music markets which generate 90% of the global sales in the world, did have certification systems established by then. BET could perhaps be used to support some statements, but again it's not widely acceptable as they don't seem to to use enough resources to get their information right (referring to the 150 million).--Harout72 (talk) 06:34, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Noel "Detail" Fisher production discography has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Discographies are reserved for notable subjects who have a Wikipedia article. If a biography for the subject is not created this list should be deleted. As an aside the subject appears notable so the article should be written. If no action ensues this PROD, I will likely create the article myself. My76Strat (talk) 23:33, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Two Eleven[edit]

Hi,

Although I appreciate your enthusiasm for editing Two Eleven I have some issues with some of your recent edits:

  • firstly, you tried to add Warryn Campbell as a producer for "Scared of Beautiful", this edit is not supported by a reliable source.
  • Secondly you've added every single minor country to the release history for the album from iTunes. This simply isn't necessary. In reality there are only 3-4 different dates and with exception to Japan there are just two versions of the album. It is simply overkill and not required to list every single country on iTunes. Wikipedia isn't here to promote the album's release. The release history is simply to give a guide/flavour of when the album is out and where in the world. I removed all of the minor markets - i.e. countries where their share of the global music market is low. There is no intentional bias here nor is it an attempt to offend. It simply looks silly to have 1000s of release dates and over 40 iTunes references. Please DO NOT add back. Thanks. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 13:21, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How many other articles have an extensive release history as long? What purpose does it serve? If there were like ten different release dates and formats I would understand. But at the moment its just unnecessarily tedious. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 13:50, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:35, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of artists influenced by Brandy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chris Brown (singer) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
