Wrong namespace[edit]

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia Maidmarian55. You recently wrote a message to user Joeatnmsu and more precisely in his sandbox User:Joeatnmsu/sandbox. However you left it at Joeatnmsu/sandbox (you're missing the 'User' prefix!) and that page will have to be deleted since it is in the main namespace which is dedicated to articles. As you can see below Joeatnmsu/sandbox will have to be deleted but I've copied your comment User:Joeatnmsu/sandbox. To communicate with Joeatnmsu, I also suggest you stop using User:Joeatnmsu/sandbox in favour of User talk:Joeatnmsu because Wikipedia warns Joeatnmsu of any new messages left there. Let me know if the above isn't clear. Best, Pichpich (talk) 21:25, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Joeatnmsu/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

G6: clearly in the wrong namespace and I've copied the message on Joeatnmsu' talk page.

Maidmarian55, The first paragraph of the article offers a clear history of the origins of building as well as the history of the funding of the venture. I think the second paragraph really adds to the rich history of Roswell, New Mexico. The addition of the current state of the both the original library building and the one that replaced it helped to create a full spectrum perspective on the topic. I would suggest perhaps adding in at least one more cited source to corroborate the data in the article. --Lizb07 (talk) 05:41, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lizb07-
Thank you for your helpful feedback. I would like to add more citations but I haven't found a lot of sources. You're right that I wanted to bring the reader up to date on the library but my main interest is the history of the original library and the original library building up until the the time it closed. These old Carnegie buildings really interest me. I'm hoping that people who remember or were involved with the library will see the article and add their personal, historical knowledge.

Carnegie Library Feedback[edit]

Your first paragraph was very helpful and very understandable of the library's history and how it became and how it got its name is very good I also really liked how it was the 5th library to open in New Mexico. In the middle of the reading you explained how it needed a new library because the City of Roswell was growing and it was becoming to packed in the library and bond was passed to open a new one. I liked how the City of Roswell was able to receive a new library. I would recommend a little more sources on the newest library.--BrantDaMerc (talk) 08:41, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi BrantDaMerc -
Thanks for letting me know that the article is helpful and understandable. Writing this article has really sparked my interest in early libraries. I'm hoping to find more time to add new sources to the article. The history of the original library is my main interest. There is a lot of information about the current library available and it is interesting to see how libraries are changing. It is amazing to see the changes in technology used and available in modern libraries in just the last ten years.

Replaceable fair use File:Carnegie Library in Roswell, New Mexico.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Carnegie Library in Roswell, New Mexico.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:05, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

About your article Carnegie Library (Roswell, New Mexico)[edit]

The information provided was good, but something that i think will help improve the article is to add more categories, for example what are the kind of services that this particular library provides, to what kind of audience, and more example on the materials offered to the clients. --Xaleman87 (talk) 03:19, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Xaleman87 -
Thanks for your feedback. My main interest in the history of the original library but more than one person has now suggested that the article should include more information about the current library. It might me interesting to contrast the original library to the new one. The biggest difference is going to be the advancement of technology. Of course that could be said of any library with a history. I will consider your suggestions.
