Orphaned non-free media (Image:MandyCD2.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MandyCD2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:03, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March 2008[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Mandy (song), you will be blocked from editing. Dougie WII (talk) 07:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WhatMakesAManCD1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:WhatMakesAManCD1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Protection templates[edit]

Hi Longyuano. I see you are putting a lot of good work into Westlife topics. You might not be aware of this, but only administrators can protect pages. Please do not add protection templates (as you did here) to non-protected pages. Thanks. Also I'll take this time to remind you to use the "Show preview" button before saving your changes so you can catch any problems and then not clog up the page histories with a long list of changes. Thanks much! --Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 17:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Westlife[edit]

Hi there, I wanted to let you know if you add citations to the Westlife article, could you please follow the general format for all the citations? This is for convenient sake should someone decide to ask for promotion of the article to GA standing, at which point, all the citations needs to be in the format that I've changed for the article.

Also, the use of non-english references are strongly discouraged in English Wikipedia and generally speaking, fan sites (ie. Westlife.cn should also be avoided if possible) --Cahk (talk) 05:29, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the citation format that I've used for the article, they are the official citation format used by Wikipedia and it took me a long time to do them so stop reverting them.--Cahk (talk) 07:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ok, thanks for informing me. keep up the good work too.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Westlife songlist (originals), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Westlife songlist. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Image copyright problem with Image:UnbreakableDVD.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:UnbreakableDVD.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Westlife songlist[edit]

An editor has nominated Westlife songlist, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Westlife songlist and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:59, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Us Against the World[edit]

I've been tagging the [citation needed] tag to the video section but it seems to me that you keep removing it without providing a citation or explanation. That statement is a biased statement unless qualified by a source and the tag should remain there.--Cahk (talk) 01:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you are not serious with the ref. It's a public forum so anyone can post a message with or without reference to back it up - at least if it came from an administrator of the board, that would be more credible. However, that user had this account for less than 6 months of time and you couldn't tell where he/she heard the news.

Per Wikipedia:No original research, that link is not a valid reference. --Cahk (talk) 05:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was a reshoot of the music video and almost everybody knows about it. This was comfirmed off air on the Alan Titmarsh show. It's just that there was no press release on the band's official website about it so it's difficult to provide a more credible reference. --Longyuano (talk) 06:21, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am aware of a new music video. However, I am not sure if it is because of Simon Cowell that the video needed a reshoot. I am asking for reference in regards to Simon Cowell's disapproval as oppose to the fact that there was a new MV.--Cahk (talk) 06:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Charts tables[edit]

Please read WP:CHARTS and WP:FLAGS. Charts tables should not contain flags, boldfacing and unofficial charts, such as ones pertaining to only one radio station. Please do not revert Westlife song article charts tables back to incorrect formatting. Thanks. - eo (talk) 06:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:3FlyingWithoutWings1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:3FlyingWithoutWings1.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:HomeMV1.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:HomeMV1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 16:52, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Westlife songlist (originals)[edit]

The article Westlife songlist (originals) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

completely unsourced and un-notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. File source problem with File:20Amazing1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:20Amazing1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:06, 18 January 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shizhao (talk) 01:06, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:9UptownGirl1.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:9UptownGirl1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
