POLI 339 Peer Review[edit]
I would say this article is close to being done! The article has a strong lead and “About” section that clearly establish the focus of the article and define key topics, such as state feminism. The “About” section does a good job of distinguishing between state feminism and feminist outcomes, heading off any misconceptions readers may have. Other key strengths of the article include its multiple specific examples highlighting variations in state feminism across the globe. This article could mainly be improved by restructuring some of the sections. Rather than having a section for each country, I think it would be more effective to have different sections for different categories of countries and then have each country as an example or subsection within these sections. Another key improvement to the article would be making more explicit connections between different countries and topics discussed in the article. It would be helpful for the reader to know if the countries discussed in the article are mentioned because they are particularly strong examples of state feminism or simply because they are the only examples of state feminism. Overall, this article is detailed and well-developed. While some sections are still underdeveloped, such as “Sweden,” “Middle East,” and “Criticisms,” I am confident you will be able to add more detail in the next week. Restructuring the sections may also make it so that you do not need to add as much additional detail.
