August 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Superman, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. P. D. Could you possibly not do things like this? Thanks. --John (talk) 02:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not to be thick, but I removed a rollbacker icon from a user that doesn't have that bit. Was that wrong? Please advise. Lion barmen (talk) 03:00, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. What is the nature of your interest in whether this user displays this symbol, please? --John (talk) 03:02, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, I don't understand how to cut and paste this discussion very well. To your Yes, I do not understand why that was wrong, I would like to learn from my mistake, please explain. To my nature of the display of the symbol, it is misleading. I understand that there are several rights from Founder and Steward...Beau... Admin...down to a basic editor (where I am I think), this user is not a rollbacker according to the link I found. Other symbols that I have found such as Admin and check user seem to be reserved only for those with that privilege. Please explain, I am trying to learn. Better to let users manage their own user pages, unless they specifically say it's ok to update them. Why not improve an article or two? That would be much more helpful. I am watching this page; it's ok to just reply here. --John (talk) 03:16, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have fixed the SR-71 page and made it better, but I might put it back because of the vandals. I have the rollbacker too now! Thank you. Lion barmen (talk) 03:18, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 02:26, 8 August 2010 (UTC) Thank you![reply]

Hi there.[edit]

I was just letting you know that the edit about Superman you were trying to put into the article is actually already in the article, have a look here. Thanks for your work. :) Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 03:21, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, most people will write what's called an edit summary before they save changes they make. It's done so others can see what you changed to a page, if that makes sense. It doesn't have to be complicated. For example, when I write a reply to someone, I write "reply" in the edit summary box, which is just above the save button. Give it a go, it really helps others know what you're doing. :) Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 03:27, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's OK, it takes time to learn most stuff, and we almost never know everything, Have a look through the help section for some tips to get you started, and post a message on my page if you need some advice. Cheers. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 03:33, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
