(No Title)

Hello, Leujohn/Archive 1 (December 2006-October 2008), and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Could you please cite this fact you added to the cactus article? I removed it because it didn't seem right, but I may be wrong about this. Thanks.

Again, welcome!  Dar-Ape 04:42, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism accusation

what was wrong with my edit? it was factual. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.143.66 (talk) 12:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I have combined your citation with one I got from BBC to conclude that cactus roots can grow outwards to 20 meters. See my edit. I hope this is good, but if anything seems amiss please let me know, or you may simply improve it yourself. I once again appreciate your response and hope you are finding Wikipedia a great place to be so far! Cheers, Dar-Ape 21:08, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Adoption and your user page

I am happy to adopt you, although I must caution you that I will be very busy the next few days and might not be able to respond immediately to questions. However, after that, I should be back to editing almost every day. As for your userpage, you should be able to start it by either clicking the red "Leujohn" at the top of your screen (to the left of "my talk") or clicking the "user page" tab to the left of the "discussion" tab at the top of this talk page, which will then open a page called "Editing User:Leujohn," which you can type into and save. If you are still having problems, let me know and I will start your userpage for you, at which point you should be able to edit it and tailor it to your preferences. Thanks for the smile! I am at your service, Dar-Ape 01:07, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Another thing: there is currently no link to either you userpage or your talk page in your signature. It is very helpful to do this, and I think you may have accidentally clicked the "raw signature" box under "my preferences." You can see WP:SIG for more information about signatures. Dar-Ape 01:14, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
You shouldn't need MS word; you can do everything in your internet browser in that edit window-- no downloading/uploading necessary. Anyway, I have started your userpage for you, and you can edit it by following this link, or by clicking on the blue "Leujohn" at the very top of the screen, and then clicking the blue "edit" tab. You can get information on and ideas for your userpage and userboxes at Wikipedia:User page and Wikipedia:Userboxes, respectively.
As for topics, do you mean user categories? Also, anyone may join the Counter-Vandalism Unit, and I'm glad you've taken an interest in doing so! Also, regarding your signature again, try pasting this: [[User:Leujohn|Leujohn]] into your signature box under "preferences", and then make sure the "raw signature" box is checked. I hope I'm not overwhelming you, and please let me know if I'm throwing a little too much at you at one time. Happy editing, Dar-Ape 17:36, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Technical difficulties

Well, if neither following this link nor anything else I said before works, I must say I'm not sure what the problem is. I woulld advise asking for help at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). As for categories, you can add yourself to a category like Category:Wikipedian recent changes patrollers by simply placing [[Category:Wikipedian recent changes patrollers]] onto the bottom of your user page and then saving. I realize you are not able to edit your userpage, but if you'd like to add yourself to any categories, just let me know and I will be happy to do it for you. I hope you're able to find a solution to your editing problem, Dar-Ape 18:03, 13 February 2007

Done. Best, Dar-Ape 17:55, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Boxes and other matters

Hello! I've added the boxes for you, along with {{boxtop}} and {{boxbottom}} to keep things organized. Let me know if you'd like another scheme or customization for {{boxtop}}. Congratulations on winning the school spelling bee! To join the typo team, simply add your name to the list and begin fixing typos-- it's that easy. On another note, would you mind leaving my new messages under a new heading at the bottom of my page when a lot of time has gone by since the past message? This makes it easier for me to find new messages for me and organize them chronologically. Thanks, Dar-Ape 02:19, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

WP:CVU status

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Delivered on behalf of xaosflux 17:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

I would...

I would, but User:Statusbot/Template does not exist, nor does User:Statusbot, and I didn't see either in the deletion log. Perhaps you have confused this with something else? Best, Dar-Ape 22:25, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

i need help

this has nothing to do with wikipedia but, is middle school scary? i would of been in it this year if i hadn't moved, but i'm going to go to one next year.Bloo1997 (talk) 19:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Wiki-freak! Nerd! Search International Christian School on wiki and u will see the page I made! But, someone add a little thing to it! --Florence Lau 05:23, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

John...

I thought I did sign it. U noe.... I actually wrote hidden messages last time, i will show them to you now. --Florence Lau 08:17, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

DELETED

John, it is deleted for the pic.

Spelling Mistake

Hello. I just wanted to tell you that the spelling "Kindergarten" is correct, not "Kindergarden". As proof, see Kindergarten, also try typing "kindergarden" in Microsoft Word. The red line on misspelled words should appear. Vltava 68 (talk) 22:41, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:54, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Siaochang

The edit you made in Nov 2006 on Eric Liddell about Siaochang should be Shaochang, and you invention of its name in Chinese 韶昌, were not correct. I just corrected them. --Mongol (talk) 23:08, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

I usually do not tell other people that their edits were "wrong". I was just curious whether that name was invented by yourself, or got from somewhere else. Anyway, I did correct it with the actual name. Cheers, --Mongol (talk) 16:09, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!

I noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:

  1. Read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
  2. Look at {{orphan}},{{do-attempt}}, and {{articleissues}} closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly. (It's not difficult, but it is easy to screw up. Trust me, I have.)
  3. Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month. Right now we're just trying to keep up with all the new orphans being created, so please start with the current monthly category. Once those are cleared out, we can start working on the backlog in reverse-chronological order.
Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 04:22, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Why thank you

How touching, Leujohn. I'm not around that much these days (just happened to be cruising through today), but you can of course still ask me questions if you should ever be curious about anything even though you're no longer my adoptee. Best as always, Dar-Ape 22:38, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Re: Adoption

I would be glad to! Give me a few hours, and I'll set up a page for you. Xclamation point 12:14, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Cesium_137 Revert

You revered a legitimate edit that I had made to the Cesium_137 (band) article and said the reason was for "possible" vandalism even though I had clearly stated the edit that I had made. What you did was vandalism and was an unnecessary edit and you should actually check the changes done to pages before undoing what people have done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IAINATOR (talkcontribs) 13:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hello Archive 1 (December 2006-October 2008). Thanks for the newpages patrol! Regarding Witelcom which you tagged for speedy deletion as a repost, I just wanted to drop by to tell you that CSD G4 only applies to pages previously deleted after discussion, at an XfD forum such as at AfD. It does not apply to pages that were only previously speedy deleted, as this article was. Note also that even when an article was previously deleted on the merits, G4 is only applicable where the reposted article is substantially identical to the deleted version and any changes in the recreated page do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted. Cheers. Stifle (talk) 12:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

revenge is a dish best served cold

Thanks for reverting vandalism on my talk page by 87.251.41.178. Fun thing is that I reverted and warned him in June... Quite resentful :) Rror (talk) 12:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

(Wow)

- Man you're fast to edit stuff, you really help to keep this website correct. Well done.

Wrong template

I fail to see the personal attacks in this edit, which you templated User:Amysarge for. --Pwnage8 (talk) 13:39, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

No problem. Proper templating makes the wiki go 'round! --Pwnage8 (talk) 13:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Copybot

Are you sure you meant to revert my change to a previous change by the vandal? BananaFiend (talk) 10:05, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

And now I've undone your undoing of a change, seems we're stepping on each others toes here! BananaFiend (talk) 10:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Wont be the first time. --99.185.0.29 (talk) 18:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Reverted?
