Learning1, to explain a little further re the infringements, I have noted on talk:Ethiopid the sites from where the original texts deleted from the article come from. Please review Wikipedia:Copyrights for the rules and regulations concerning this. Although you placed some of those additions in quotation marks, they are unattributed and as such an infringement of the holders' copyrights. Even if you did attribute them, an article cannot consist solely of such quotations. I see that you are claiming on the talk page that "you have the owner's permission" - I doubt this very much, since the material comes from several separate sources, including a scholarly publication in Nature journal.
As for all those images, you have tagged them as if you have taken them (or created the diagrams) yourself. Is that really true? For example, one I could readily find image:Aids8.jpg is clearly taken from the online PBS site. If you cannot demonstrate that you've taken this photos yourself, they should all properly be deleted as well.--cjllw | TALK 01:32, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Bright Idea[edit]
Even though i have permission. why not just delete the Image?
- Rest assured, after due process is served, it (and any others identified) will be. The process is to allow the uploader, you, an opportunity to establish the img's bona fides. To date, there is no demonstration. A direct question for you: are you the original creator of any of those images/diagrams you uploaded, as is indicated by the tag you placed on them? For some at least this does not appear to be the case, but the status of others is not clear. Would appreciate if you can clarify.--cjllw | TALK 02:10, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Ok, here's the thing, so "having permission" is not enough, the text MUST be released under GFDL license:
- The main legal thing that is important to explain to potential contributors: they would be agreeing that their picture (or text) can be used freely by Wikipedia AND its downstream users, and that such use might include commercial use, for which the contributor is not entitled to royalties or compensation.

In order to accept into Wikipedia content which is published on another website, we usually require a clear statement from the author of the content that the content is being licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (see <http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html>, or <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Free_Documentation_License>). This statement must come from an email address that we can clearly recognize as being from the operator of the website, or be in reply to a message sent to the operator of the website. This email should be sent to <mailto:permissions@wikimedia.org>.
In addition, we need to know exactly which article or articles contain the copyrighted material in question. The English Wikipedia has over 800,000 articles, and finding the one you're referring to while knowing only the topic of the article can sometimes be quite difficult.

Editing Wikipedia[edit]
Hi learning1, heres some tips on how to become one of our most valued Wikipedians. First, learn how to construct a good article. Look at the dinosaur article which was created by another 14-year old, Spawn Man. He has meticulously listed his sources and deleted every piece of information or image which is not completely verifiable by any Wikipedian. See if you, too, can be honoured by achieving featured article status for an article. SeeWikipedia:verifiability. Also, please adhere to WP:civility. The rest of us are very conscious that we have given you a hard time, and had to deviate from don't bite the newbies. However, if you adhere to wikipedia policies, there is no reason you can not quickly (within weeks) become one of our most valued editors. I think you've got a good deal of talent as you learned how to use some of the basics very quickly. Hang in there and we won't hold any of your funny actions this week against you.
