Help me call[edit]

Hello, Lbkid1700. What seems to be the problem? Hersfold (talk|work) 22:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was working on a new article for Tom and Jerry--Two Little Indians and somebody says I need to cite resources. I don't have any. I just watched the cartoon and wrote what I saw. What do I do? - Lbkid1700

Ok, just so I don't get lost, I'd like to keep the discussion here. Don't worry, I'l watch your talk page for any changes.
It looks like Khalidkhoso has already provided some links, so look them over. I'll read your article and see if there's anything I can suggest. Be back in just a minute. Hersfold (talk|work) 22:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!!Lbkid1700 22:58, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are Welcome in Wikipedia Dear Lbkid1700. Khalidkhoso 23:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Ok. First, the wikify thing. Your article has a large amount of text, all in a big block. There aren't any links, and the majority of the article seems to be a summary of the cartoon. There's nothing wrong with that - it's a good place to start. But as Khalidkhoso pointed out, it does need some cleanup. Try to shorten the summary of the cartoon, first of all. Then add some more sections about the background of the cartoon - maybe, who created it, etc. Provide some links to other Wikipedia articles (For example, link the word "Scoutmaster" in the first paragraph to the Scouting article). Then, try to find some other web sites or printed materials that can back up the information you add. I don't think you really need to reference your summary, but other information, such as the release date, could use some citations. Add these tags right after the information you want to reference:
<ref>[http://www.example.com Name of referenced site]</ref>
And then these tags at the very bottom of the article:
==References==
<references/>
That should provide small footnotes that link to the websites with the information.
If you need any help, or have any more questions, please let me know! Hersfold (talk|work) 23:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, if you're going to ask me a question about something, at least be willing to listen to my advice. Those templates can't be removed until the article has been cleaned up some to fit within Wikipedia's guidelines. Right now, it can use some help. Those templates are there to bring it to the attention of other editors so that they can help you out. Removing them means the article isn't going to get any better and may eventually be deleted for not fitting those guidelines. Hersfold (talk|work) 23:28, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you advice and assistance...I guess I'm just a hothead LOL!! I appreciate any help I can get. Will check back another day. Time to start my job for the day. Lbkid1700 23:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, then. When you get a chance, I've shortened your first summary paragraph somewhat - this is kind of what I was talking about. Take a look and see what you think:
Two mice, resembling Nibbles but dressed as Indians, approach Jerry with a note from the Bide-a-wee Mouse Home. Jerry, as scoutmaster, had promised the two mice a hike. Unfortunately, the two young mice are keen to get into trouble, attacking Spike, Tom, a robin, and Jerry (albeit inadvertently) throughout the cartoon. The mice set out on their hike after Jerry stops the young mice from attempting to shoot an arrow into Spike's mouth and scolds them.

OK, I've helped out with some of your cleanup, removed a few unnecessary details and added a couple of pictures, and will add some more later on perhaps when I find some. Good stuff! MartinP1983 13:52, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, why not try adding the plot to the Salt Water Tabby page? Someone else started it but didn't finish it, so you'd be the best person for that.

I don't mind putting in pictures myself, but feel free to replace them if you have better ones.

Alright, have added my special touches to Flirty Birdy, Cat Fishin', The Truce Hurts and The Milky Waif. Might see if I can get more pictures from those, other than title cards.

Also, somebody's created a page for Safety Second but it's pretty poorly written and I reckon you could do a better job of it and edit it so it reads and looks better...how about that? MartinP1983 23:01, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, you've not seen it? Hmm...I've looked around on the net, on Youtube etc, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. Must be something of an underrated classic.
 : Ah-ha. Found Safety Second at last - it's better than I remembered it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT810jpxTm4
If you've seen Springtime for Thomas or Rock 'n' Rodent perhaps you could edit those articles - the same person has created them and to be honest, the person's use of English is pretty poor...I might do the images later on if I get the time.
Hello! I've done Fine Feathered Friend as per your request. If you are stuck for articles to work on, I suggest The Missing Mouse, Texas Tom, Puttin' on the Dog, High Steaks...quite a few, come to think of it.

Have made my usual additions to Professor Tom, looks like someone else has already started Old Rockin' Chair Tom but he doesn't look like he'll finish it...I'll try and find the cartoon for you online if I can. If not, there's always plenty of other started cartoons that need finishing.
Have put my finishing touches to Tennis Chumps, thanks for that. I've been warned about uploading images without a fair use rationale...looks like I'll have to be more careful uploading images in the future.
Not sure what the problem was exactly, apparently I haven't been using the fair use rationale properly. It's not enough to say that the pictures are there for informational purposes. Anyhow, I've added my bit to the page, and the flashback you mentioned (with the kitchen sink and the window falling on Tom) is from Solid Serenade. :) MartinP1983 22:18, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If bored, Little Runaway and Push-Button Kitty have been put up by the other guy. I've added in the technical details and title images but the plots need some work. I'd do it myself but I'm far too lazy of course. MartinP1983 22:37, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
