Notability of Lou lancaster

A tag has been placed on Lou lancaster requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Sorry about that; we deal with a LOT of crap on a daily basis, and occasionally there's a false positive.

Here's the thing. What you had for the article... it didn't really assert notability. It didn't really say much about why anyone should care about Lou Lancaster. Since you ran his official website, you may not have been the most impartial person in the world to make the decision.

On the other hand... he performed at the Magic Castle eighteen times? Whoa.

I'm going to restore the article, and fix it up a bit so as to more clearly show why he should be mentioned. DS (talk) 14:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your help! I hope you might be able to help me further. Before I ask I want to state that I do not truly run the Lou Lancaster site, but the server the site is on is one of the machines that I admin. I did a small amount of work on the site because magicians and the owner of the server asked me to. Now to my question :) I was invited to the wake of Mr. Lou Lancaster, well they call it a Broken Wand ceremony. In this meeting famous magicians attented and Lou turned out to be pretty much the best slight of hand close up magician in memory. That was agreed upon in general. However, specifically the famous Magician; Jeff McBride stated some things about Lou that seem to me to be truly noteworthy such as Lou taught him and showed many techniques to him that he uses to this day. This was usual for Lou; he was really that good and everybody knew him but he never got the money or huge fame. He taught Mohammed Ali the ways of Magic. He created some set pieces of illusion such as the "Twister Illusion" and a version of "Dissapearing Cage" I uploaded the broken wand ceremony video to youtube, also a slide show I put together under direction of the executor of Lou's estate. Please could you tell me if this content and the statements Mr. McBride makes, for instance (in the Broken Wand video), would merit Lou's acticle becoming officially 'noteworthy'? I also have Lou's resume from the 1970's and permission to use any/all media on Lou/from Lou to use as I wish - the resume shows Lou being on TV several times would this help to establish noteworthyness?

Image is and has been in use

Hi. Using the image for an article. The article is being created. The wikipedia guidelines say not to rush, but to make the article better, not faster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lavath/MyTestMcGuff is where the image is in use. ...So it has been in use and is currently in use, thank you.

Non-free images such as logos are not allowed to remain indefinitely in non-article space (such as user-space "sandboxes"). If & when you think that the article is worthy of being placed in the mainspace, you can either re-upload the image or ask any sysop/admin to restore the image for placement on the article. Also, you need to let someone know that you're talking back to them on your own talk page, with something like {{talkback}}, as most editors don't watch every talk page they edit. Please restore Image

Howdy, Skier Dude I, a newbie and others are trying our hands at each creating a new wikipedia article. The focus is on proper referencing. I am ready to show mine to them, could I please have the image back on or about Monday, Dec. 21, 2009? After they help me proof it (a couple of days at most), I would like very much to make the article live - I am sure to get critical feedback after thie, but hope that with prep work my required revisions will be minimal, or at least less than theirs. I've restored the image, it will be up for another week for your use. If it is restored to article space, make sure the deletion template is removed from the image and the correct article name (backlink) is on the "fair use" template" Skier Dude (talk)

Hello again, Skier Dude. I thank you for your help, and ask for more help! I have attempted to follow your suggestions.

1. I have named the article "McGuffCompanies" but am unsure if "McGuff_Companies" would be more proper.

2. I updated the image tag, but am unsure if I have done so correctly.

3. I do not think that I am able to "make sure the deletion template is removed from the image" I do not think my access is sufficient to allow this.

I do not lightly ask all this mess of questions of you! I have spent much time attempting to research and find the answers myself. I ask you the questions to which I was unable to find answers for. Thank you, and I appreciate any help you are willing and able to provide me!
