Ventriculotomy

I believe that a ventriculotomy refers merely to an invasion of a ventricle, not specifically a cardiac ventrical (for example, in the brain). I can rename the page for you if you have a more appropriate name, or you can rework the page to be more generic. Shadowjams (talk) 06:49, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

I realize too that it's usually used in the cardiac context, but this (B. K. Kleinschmidt-DeMasters, Michael Mazowiecki, Lian A. Bonds, David L. Cohn, Michael L. Wilson (2000) Coccidioidomycosis Meningitis With Massive Dural and Cerebral Venous Thrombosis and Tissue Arthroconidia. Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine: Vol. 124, No. 2, pp. 310-314.) for example, uses it in reference to brain surgery. thanks for the tips; im still fairly new at this so im not even quite sure how to message you; I had rewritten the article to include both heart and brain but on second thought, think the way you have it is better (I was hesitant to call it a "cardiac ventriculotomy" and had not thought thought of placing the word cardiac in parenthesis behind it).

No problem. I am not sure what it should be called. What I did was look at some journal articles, of which I saw both kinds of uses. Often they don't distinguish. In those cases the general convention is that we use the field, or something similar, in parenthesis, to distinguish. So Heat becomes Heat (1995 film), etc. If you think there's a better designator than (cardiac) or (neurology) for that matter, let me know and I'll change them.

For future reference, when you have a few more edits and time on your registration (it doesn't take much more) you can move/[rename] pages as well with the right tab at the top.
