The problem here is that this is really a list of titles: kasztelan or wojewoda are as appopriate here as is Kurfürst here. True, most of those titles have English variants (see Offices in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth), so a quick F&R can do the job, but nonetheless it is an English disambig (juat one with an eye-watering amount of Polish names :>). I am - slowly, very slowly - trying to standarize this problem througout Wiki - like with Voivodes of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, with which I'd like to transform all 'wojewoda -ski' into 'voivode of...'. Currently I am heaving a terrible headache with castellans... and that's just a tip of the iceberg. :) I should probably look for some bot to help me with that...--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 03:17, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

I think it's a good idea, but that is something that has to be addressed preferably as a naming convention: for example, should we go with kanclerz or chancellor? Kanclerz is shorter, Chancellor is English. As W:NC state that we should concentrate on making Wiki more user-friendly than editor-friendly, I am begining to think that the second option is better, but I think may merit further discussion. Also, the problem appears because some title are untranslatable (starost), sound strange even after translation (voivode) or are so different from the original that Polish users would be confused (koniuszy - Equerry, stolnik - Pantler.) Shall we copy this to Polish noticeboard?--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 03:46, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kusma. Thanks for your comments about my VERY rudimentary start to this article. For the time being I've simply started translating the German article about the town where I used to live. I'll keep working on it. I have de-4 and am doing a Master's in translation, but if I do need help I'll know where to go, thanks! And yes, I really can't think of any other way of naming the suburb in English!:) Does it strike you as odd?--Dub8lad1 12:59, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Month name of tomorrow's date

Does any of the clever date templates give this already? The simple-minded construction unfortunately fails on the last day of the month. Of course I could just grab this from one of your templates, but I guess you'll find a better naming convention and a way to simplify it from the code in tomorrow than I could. Thank you, Kusma (討論) 20:57, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

The easiest way to do it with the existing templates would be . However, that's a bit much to type in on the page so I set it up as Template:Tomorrow-month. --CBDunkerson 21:24, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Düsseltal

I'm giving this one a proof read. And I think it's a good candidate for our next DYK. Btw, I changed my policy on replies to posts on my page. Apparently, there is a "guideline" that says that we should try to keep conversations together. Makes a lot of sense, except then you don't get the convenient "You've got Mail" message. Anyway, to make a long story short, what does the do? --Mmounties (Talk) 04:22, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

"Echtes"

My dictionary's already in California. How do you say "echtes Kölnisches Wasser".  ?? Eau de Cologne. I'm blanking on the "Echte". original? True? Doesn't sound right. Any help?  :-p --Mmounties (Talk) 04:25, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello Kusma, how are you? Thanks for your support in my RFA. The final vote count was (88/3/1), so I am now an administrator. I am very humbled by your vote and grateful. Please let me know if at any stage you require assistance, or if you have comments on how I am doing as an administrator. New Categories on German Portal

I have read your note to the effect that you have advertised on your portal the Category:Buildings and structures in Rhineland-Palatinate. Bitte sehr. If you check Category:Buildings and structures in Germany you will see that I have created equivalent categories for the other Länder as well (there were three already done, I think). If you want to advertise those as well, please go ahead, but I dislike Portals in general, so don't wish to involve myself in the German one by adding content to it. My loss, I'm sure, but that's the way it is! I neverthless respect the hard work you put into it. Compliments, HeartofaDog 21:42, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

WP:PNT templates

You're quite correct, I stopped working on these a while ago and had forgotten about them! They were developed after a particular spate of foreign language posts, which lead me to propose (unsuccessfully) a CSD for pages which had been on WP:PNT for 14 days without translation. If you think they are useful, please develop them—they are of course GFDL!—I would also consider a mailing of ambassadors to check translations and to remind them that we exist. • Most likely you got no opposes due to your reputation. I thought that people more likely look at who the nominator IS, rather than WHAT he/she said, and in that regard, I doubt that I am a prominent/respected member yet - not like I have any positions or major awards here. I doubt that my nomination had anything to do with you escaping the wrath of Masssiveego, but I'll see if I can nominate more people (User:Blnguyen/RfA) and see if my noms have a continued success rate. You're a sysop!

Hi, Kusma/Archive 3, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=

Please also add your name to WP:LA =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:08, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
 1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
 2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
 3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
 4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
 5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
 6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Open proxies

I noticed you had an question on your RfA a few days ago about open proxies, you might want to checkout WP:OP - essentially open proxies cause a LOT of vandalism, all of the vandalbots use them hence the block. As for the question itself, access would pretty easily be interpreted as edit, though those things are in our lovely devs control and not ours :) Congrats by the way, I didn't vote because I'm up on RfA (and being as grey as I am, I didn't want to give anybody reasons to oppose), though you would have had my support :) Keep up the good GREAT work -- Tawker 05:45, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Moving Memberlist page

In regards to moving the Wikipedia:WikiProject_ASP/memberlist, thanks for that Kusma. This is the first project I've ever started, and I'm glad for the help on that one. Although I admit it is a large amount of work, I'm determined to be passionate enough to extend an area of Wikipedia that I find to severely lack any credible information. Forster

I noticed your recent discussion with an anon user regarding issue of Polish and German relations. The anon stated one source of his views on one talk page, you might be interested: [1]

The source is from [2]

I recommend you look at the site http://jrbooksonline.com and see what ideology it represents, and what other "historic" books it gives. For example :

 • Von Verschuer - Racial Biology of the Jews. For the research archive. Good ethnological information.
 • Dr. Erich Schinnerer - German Law and Legislation. The NS viewpoint.
 • The Godless - What the Nazis were fighting against.

My apologies, Kusma! I've done it once, but it so long ago that I'd forgotten the proper procedure for moving. I should've have, but I did, and perhaps that shouldn't be an excuse. Forster proofreading

Hi Kusma, I changed some things in Georg Forster. I hope I didn't change the meaning at all, or make any controversial changes (having looked at the talk page!). I started changing the longer quotes into reported speech, as they seemed to be a translation of the German quotes and I was taught not to translate quotes as direct speech; some may also even have been translations from the English in the first place. Sorry if any of them were actually the original English quotes! Saint|swithin 07:14, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I am currently very busy in my real life (conference deadlines) and on the Polish Wikipedia (pl:Wikiportal:Literatura). For some reason I missed the chance to vote for you in your adminship run. I really regret that. My congratulations!!!!!!
I understand that you allude to Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles as far as the Georg Forster article is concerned. I think it is a good idea to use this opportunity to check if the article is stable. alx-pl D 14:08, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

A too lenient block?

Hi, Kusma. I was about to block this account indefinitely, when I saw that you had given 24 hours. I don't want to interfere with your judgment, but it does seem to be a vandalism-only account. An IP can usually get away with a few vandalisms before being blocked, but a registered user who starts with vandalism is usually blocked immediately as the account was created for the purpose of vandalism. If you don't think it should be made indefinite, perhaps you could keep an eye on the contributions when the block expires. Thanks. AnnH 22:06, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Unblock and reblock is all you have to do. The unblocking first is important, though, and some new admins miss that. If you ever think you've been too harsh, I think you can just block for a shorter period without unblocking first, as it's always the block due to end first that actually "takes", but if you think you've been too lenient, you have to unblock first. And, as you said, the protecting would be unusual. If an absusive vandal keeps vandalizing his own talk page during a block, you could protect the talk page, but that doesn't often happen. The indefblockeduser template on the user page is not obligatory. Some admins put it on; others don't bother. Hope that helps. Cheers. AnnH 22:25, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Social Nudity

Please examine recent user contributions by User:Cyndiann. She removed all content from Clothes free movement and Clothes free people and redirected it to article titles with the NPOV term naturism in the title in them, then rewrote the articles using NPOV naturism. Can you please help me get an admin involved this dispute? I'm sorry if I made errors. Where is the best place to discuss this? I'm concerned that any article that is in the middle of an edit/revert/move war could lose the dialogue. Please Please help!!!! Thanks. Dandelion1 01:05, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help! What can I do about the two other articles? I have requested both of them to be moved back. Thanks! Dandelion1 01:45, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
About the title of Naturism versus Social nudity, I don't want to take a side in this dispute. (Actually, I don't want to take sides in this dispute at all, just trying to repair your cut&paste moves). Wider discussion on that one is maybe not a bad idea. I don't quite understand what the POV involved here is: is it a "naturist" versus "nudist" thing? I'm sorry, I am used to easier questions like whether to use the German or Polish name of some obscure villages in Poland ;-) Kusma (討論) 01:48, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and the history of Clothes free people was deleted, so if you feel WP:BOLD and are sure that's the right title, you can move the article back there yourself. Kusma (討論) 01:51, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank you! Yes, I am very WP:BOLD. Cheers! Thank you so much for your help and patience with people like me!! Re: POV dispute, yes people can create an article on either naturism and nudism and they would be virtually identicle, so it is better to use a more broad term, see the dicussion page on what was Social nudity. My associate, who is the editor at large for Nude and Natural magazine has spent over a year working on an article showing how each country has a different interpretation and usage of those two words. Germany even adds FKK to add to the confusion more. Cheers! Dandelion1 02:06, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Do you know how I change my signature to automatically be Dandelion instead of Dandelion1 when I sign? Thanks! Dandelion1 02:53, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Go to Special:Preferences, check "Raw link" and enter
Dandelion
in the "Nickname" field. Maybe even better would be a signature including talk and contributions links:
User:Dandelion (talk|contribs)
because your method of redirecting your use page hides your contributions a bit. Hope that helps, Kusma (討論) 03:02, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

The Naturism versus social nudity stuff gets out of hand. I have asked for some sources that document the need for the change, but they are not given. However, he has started unilaterally, despite oposition to remane the content of the page already to Social nudity, while the page name is still naturism. KimvdLinde 01:21, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Born-Oppenheimer approximation

Hi Kusma! I wonder if at your convenience you could help translate this passage for me? It is the abstract of a paper published in 1927 pertaining to the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. Thank you very much! --HappyCamper 14:46, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Wonderful! - Kusma, you have no idea how significant that translation is to me - it tells me quite a bit about how the early quantum theorists were thinking about atoms and molecules. I am doing some historical research on an approximation method which is pretty much fundamental to all of modern quantum chemistry / quamtum physics, and it is exceptionally interesting that the original paper on the subject presented the material in this manner. Too many of these important papers are in German...more the reason why I must pick up the language. Danke! --HappyCamper 16:56, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Get involved in social nudity naming convention debates!

Hi, I'd like to invite you to get involved in establishing consensus in discussions concerning naming conventions for social nudity topics.

Please join in this community discussion regarding the name of Portal:Clothes free.

Participate here: Portal_talk:Clothes_free#Votes

Please also join in the discussion about what to name an article dealing with social nudity. I believe the the latter term is a better term to use than naturism or nudism as it is more WP:NPOV and is in use currently. Formerly the article was titled Clothes free movement.

Thank you for commenting on سلام! You asked how best to help. I think it is best to add some translation information to the page together with a deletion tag if you believe the result to be not worthy of inclusion. The admin reviewing the deletion request (usually either through a speedy deletion template (WP:CSD) or through a proposed deletion (WP:PROD)) can then make a more informed decision on whether or not to delete the article. Hi, You were once kind enough to say that if I could use your assistance to contact you. There's a (fairly minor) problem with the above being added to various articles. I've been removing it as non-notable, unwikified, inappropriate etc but it's re-appearing and I don't want to get into an edit war over it. Most recently it's been added back to List of poets from the United States, Wikipedia:WikiProject Authors/G-N, and List of poets by User:64.26.98.71. Any advice or help on what best to do would be appreciated. Dlyons493 Talk 19:42, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for what you've -it's not a major issue anyway. Enjoy the break! Dlyons493 Talk 12:04, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kusma, do you still need Portal:Germany/Test1 or can it be deleted? Angr (talkcontribs) 15:41, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Well on RFD they always say "redirects are cheap", meaning usually it doesn't hurt to keep them around. Angr (talkcontribs) 15:51, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Re:vandalism reverts

Thing is, I hadn't read through an tuturial on how to deal with vandalism yet and thus never knew what warning is appropriate, if a warning at all. It would also make sense that only admins may use the warnings. After all, if all these nice warnings from the site whose link you posted would be used in a content dispute between editors... "Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia etc", answer: "Please do not remove content from Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism." Such a duel would be funny to watch ;-) . And finally it feels somewhat insincere to state that an anon will be blocked the next time he vandalises a page when really I don't have any right to block. Thank you for the link to WP:AIV. I'll try to use more warnings in the future. What would you do in this case, for example: 217.41.31.239 has made two inappropriate comments on two distinct pages. Is it a test1 or test2 case? What criterias do you follow? Cheers, Sciurinæ 21:54, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Schleswig Cathedral

I have completed your translation request for de:Schleswiger Dom. Perhaps you'd like to give it a proof reading ( → Schleswig Cathedral). Cheers - Something Wicked 11:26, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Just a quick thank you for reverting vandalism on en:School! I tried to watch it yesterday, but had to leave after a while, so it's good to know someone was "watching my back"! EvocativeIntrigue 15:18, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Greetings, I noticed you removed the report on user 164.68.120.3 as you reported only one vandalism. Did you see their talk page? It is full of warnings and a block or two... it is just their use page which has one warning, mistakenly put there by myself as I didn't know the talk page contained the main body of them. Cheers, -- Serephine / talk - 17:24, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Magyars of Burgenland

Thank you for your message. Yes, I think that minorities should have their language protected and even name their place where they live in their language if they wish so. I am not sure though about "inventing" names in English, basically literally translating something that is not in use. I think we should have it either in German language or in Hungarian, I think that would be the most encyclopedic. Gryffindor 18:03, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Do you think 205.233.121.29 should be warned once more using:

"Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you."

and if they continue to make changes, then refer them to admin? EvocativeIntrigue 21:56, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, don't think there was repeated reversion, thinking of another IP! Thanks, EvocativeIntrigue 21:56, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

The german population map

The prodigius german wikipedia creator of language maps has not replied directly to my question, but he has explained his map in wikimedia. I started to translate de:Hauptverwaltung Aufklärung, please take a look and let me know what you think about the style; the article uses some terms that are very specific to the agency itself, I'd like the input from the community on how to handle those. Thanks! (Patrick 10:38, 14 May 2006 (UTC))

Kusma, Thanks for blocking Jennygrl34. I couldn't keep up. Seems like you've reverted a lot of her edits. Did you get them all, or do you need some followup cleanup? —ERcheck @ 01:44, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Question

I'm sorry for being a hastle, I'm really not lacking in intelligence. But couldn't a mock school boy bio (which this seemed to be) be consider nonsense. I realized this is skewed in the eye of the beholder, but I'm curious what the correct tag is. I'm presuming biography and nonnotable person. Thanks for the link, I'll use it often. Hi Kusma. I have written a small article on this song (Germany's only victory at Eurovision), which I have nominated for DYK inclusion on the front page - hopefully Thursday or Saturday European evening to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. If you are around then, you might want to keep an eye that it actually occurs (only admins can update DYK!). At the moment Russia, Poland and Australia are a bit over-represented on DYK (due to Ghirlandajo, Piotrus and myself), so you might want to nominate some German stuff from the new article announcements. Also in many articles such as Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest and Nicole (artist), for instance I saw the constant use of β, which I swapped to ss as in Biβchen Frieden, which I think is more appropriate (is it) as also I saw Michael Gross (swimmer) rather than Groβ, as is the case in de. wikipedia. Regards, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 02:00, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I should have noticed the curly version ß in the symbol pad. If you want, you can delete the redirect Ein bisschen Frieden out of process (on my request), and then move from Ein Bisschen Frieden. Regards, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 04:05, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

hi Kusma, thanks for pointing that out, I totally forgot the most important step. You don't think the page valids protection, after getting vandalised on a daily basis? Especially after reading the racial vandalism, I think I have seen enough. I will not be fickle on racial slurs or vandalism with racist intent and content. with kind regards Gryffindor 23:31, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Hm, I guess so... however any user that has such an attitude I cannot tolerate, be it racist, homophobic, etc...I have zero-tolerance, something which I made clear in my sysopship election back then as well. I would have done the same to the page gay if I were you, but I'll leave that to your own discretion of course, I just see that another user just protected the page which is only well. Which group of Slavs was he ? Serb, Croat or maybe Bulgarian ? Perhaps we should go even further and change it to Indo-European ? Can you talk to

User Matthead, Sciurin%C3%A6 and Kenaz9 ? They are deleting every information I enter about ethnic relations in Prussia, views about Poles by certain authors etc. They don't care about references and simply delete my entries, often without discussion, they also use personal attacks[5] and insulting summaries of edits[6]. I tried talking to Scinurae but he simply deletes my comments on the talk page[7] What am I to do ? I certainly have enough sourced informatiom from various sources on ethnic relations within Prussia, but I am unable to enter them. It is simply removed and I the other party simply refuses to talk. Please help. See for example here [8] --Molobo 23:39, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Block Diagonalization

Hi Kusma! I have a question about block diagonalization I hope you can help me with. If I have a square matrix which looks like

a b
b a

in which a and b are all square matricies, what's the best way to diagonalize the system? The blocks a and b are hermitian. Thanks for your help! --HappyCamper 03:46, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Answer

in cases where the relevance of that information is not clear.

Do you think that the fact that milions of Prussian citizens were second class people and discriminated based on their ethnic background is irrelevant to the article about Prussia ?

talking to you and discussing a point with you is rather stressful and tiring.

I always present information supported by scholary resources ? Why is that stresfull ?

--Molobo 15:44, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't know what indent means ? The way you always try to make discussions go offtopic is also exteremely aggravating (on my talk page, you started talking about Prussia)

This wasn't an offtopic since it is the original problem that I asked you about. As you aren't interested in any action to include information about persecution of other nationalities I am sorry to have taken your time thinking you would be interested in helping to give neutrality to article about Prussia. Have a good day.

--Molobo 15:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

What do you think about edits like that: [9] --Molobo 16:05, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks about your opinion about Wehrmacht article but I asked you about your opinion on such edits that I gave example of. My comment regarding the fact that deletion is norm when it comes to German made atrocities was in regards to this edit[10] --Molobo 16:27, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for blocking that guy. I was getting a little bit annoyed at following him around and reverting all of his changes. Good admins really help this site. --Alphachimp talk 00:46, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Could you translate

--Molobo 00:04, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Another request for translation

This fragment intrigues me also: [13] Gänzlich katastrophal gestaltet sich die Minoritätenpolitik Preußens, insbesondere die seiner polnischen Minderheit gegenüber. I humbly ask for translation of this information. --Molobo 00:16, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of Talk:Linda Zheng

Thanks for your withdrawal

It probably saved lots of time and avoided lots of silly arguing. You should be an admin. Best wishes, Kusma (討論) 00:15, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the uplifting remarks. It's simply so hard to guage community consensus. Perhaps the community as a whole thinks that I was attempting to lawyer my way to adminship. Perhaps they think I'm more concerned about promoting Islam than creating an encyclopedia. Perhaps they think my every action is part of a plot to gain adminship. Ngb stated that Certainly the behaviour you have exhibited during this RFA is beginning to convince me that, without a fundamental change of attitude, you should never become an administrator. I thought I handled the situation as best I could, responding to comments in reasoned defense rather than attacking oppose voters. But perhaps the Wikipedia community agrees with Ngb. I simply don't know. From here, I don't know what I'll do. I'm sure I'll be back to my regular editing, but I'll most certainly take a break for a day to rebound from this and possibly be a bit less active for a couple more weeks so I can focus on ending this school year. I don't want this RfA to bring me down, but I'm afraid the community now has a less than desirable image of me. An image that will never be erased. And I don't say that because that image may dash my chances to become an admin in the future, but rather I say that because that image may dash my chances at being seen as a credible editor. It's simply unfortunate.

Answer

Also, they show how Prussia was tolerant at some times and intolerant at other times toward people from other nations The period of tolerance to Poles is a brief reaction in Prussian society to a certain event. The periods of intolerance and discrimination and their influence dominate the Prussian history.

However, I don't really feel like helping you translate a one-sided snippet from a neutral article, especially given that you still insert POV as you please Nobody forces anybody to write something. However the current article is POV as it doesn't touch the issues such discrimination of other national groups, which I hope you agree can't be denied. could try to be fair towards Germany I am trying to portay all issues that touch on German-Polish relations in the past. I think that is fair. While they were occasional events of symphathy towards Poles, much of German history is dominated by prejudice, violence, agression and atrocities towards Poles. Anybody writing on such issues will have to concentrate on this, as history concentrates on this also. --Molobo 11:22, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Craig Gordon has a translation of the passage with hurricane, maybe we could readd that? I think we have to work on an Enlinghtenment influence of Forster. The main points are:

 • cosmopolitanism,
 • philosophical thoughts in "The Journey..."
 • the study of freedoms in the Netherlans in "The Views..."

I think also that the intro should underline his impact on ethnology in the section about his academic development. I'll keep looking for the lacking references tomorrow. alx-pl D 22:27, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

That sounds good. I didn't remember what the Bodi and Craig references were supposed to be for, so by all means re-add them. Kusma (討論) 22:40, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

The 1785 speech is mentioned in Salmonowicz's article. He gives references to several other articles that concern the event. I think the reference to Śniadecki comes from the ancient version of the Wikipedia article. I'll try to find sth. on that. alx-pl D 20:01, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Concensus intro

Actually if you would look into the discussion on Kopernik the consensus of community was to name him Polish astronomer. Only due to the fact that certain editors are relentlessly reverting it, it isn't present. As to community concensus, only 6 people voted to no mention of his nationality in the main text, while 13 voted for naming him a Pole. The fact that Wiki is home to relentless editors who try to ignore historic research(made by renown professor Mańczak) by simply deleting it out of hand like here[14] and even refuse to answer question regarding such deletions as it seems(I hope I am wrong)[15], won't change the knowledge of history outside of wiki, and the article will be constantely changed by educated users coming here who will be surprised to see German nationalist POV from XIX century still present in modern Wiki article as it is already happening. The same situation btw I am certain will happen in Prussia article where all scholary sources have been ignored to keep a one-sided version despite the fact that already two Polish editors besides me have already expressed their objections to this biased version. When you decide to ignore scholary resources this is bound to happen and it will serve no good for quality of these articles. I don't believe that ignoring scholary research and documents is a good thing, and certainly deleting them out of hand as is happening here is even worse. Don't you agree ? --Molobo 21:51, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

I know the discussion that led to the current version quite well, since I mediated the dispute between Sciurinae and Balcer that resulted in the current compromise version of the lead section. As it has been reasonably stable, I believe it to be the consensus version. Kusma (討論) 02:52, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Of the community or of Balcer and Sciurinae ? Anyway what about deletion of sourced information. Any comments ? --Molobo 09:42, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Of course, I feel that your statement in my Editor review was also highly influential, as it was quoted by many RfA participants and strongly contributed to the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0) was in large part, and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. Also, thankyou for your encouragement of me to participate at WP:PNT - and of course, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. Of course, I look forward to working with you in the future. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 04:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

About User:198.22.123.105 User:Uninsureddriver. Please take two tallys down. These two votes don't count. FellowWikipedian 02:17, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

While I'm pretty sure they are the same user, it just says "Votes of very new editors may be discounted if there is suspicion of fraud" on WP:RFA and so I decided to leave this decision to the closing bureaucrat and just mark the vote. Personally, I think allowing anyone with less than 50 edits to vote is silly, but well... Kusma (討論) 02:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
If you do want to strike the vote, please also make it not count (using #:) and comment that you have done so. Striking the vote and not commenting makes it look as if I had done it, so I have reverted (also making a WP:POINT about editors with zero edits being allowed to vote). Where do I comment? FellowWikipedian 02:54, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Below the vote, indented with #: or #:: etc. See here and here for what I did to comment on these votes. If you do strike the vote again, please say that you have done so below my comment, and sign that. Thank you (sorry for being so process-wonky on a small matter that will probably have no effect on this RfA). Happy editing, Kusma (討論) 03:11, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I guess they are the same user. I am not going to strike the vote. FellowWikipedian 03:29, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I have commented that I believe them to be the same at the RfA. Kusma (討論) 03:34, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
User:198.22.123.105 is probably User:Uninsureddriver when he is not logged in. FellowWikipedian 03:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
He created the account after I told him at User talk:198.22.123.105 that he wasn't allowed to vote on RfAs. They also both created talk pages for nonexisting users. Kusma (討論) 03:42, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Since he created an account. The vote counts. FellowWikipedian 20:21, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
