January 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Chadwick School, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Ckatzchatspy 07:16, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that your edits to that page include several instances where you have applied questionable edits, including the restoration of vandalism (a link to the "Village People" article) and the deletion of material that was easily referenced from the school's web site. --Ckatzchatspy 08:44, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

famous vs notable[edit]

What's the difference between famous alumni and notable alumni? Further, the school article guidelines doesn't suggest breaking it up in that way; if anything, it would be better to divide it by sports, academia, business, etc. tedder (talk) 22:26, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

famous vs notable[edit]

Famous alumni have name recognition by a majority of people. Notable alumni have accomplished notable things but do not have name recognition with the public. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kubigulo (talkcontribs) 22:32, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So how do you gauge that? Are there reliable sources to indicate one versus the other, or is it a subjective argument based on if you've heard of them? tedder (talk) 22:48, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're like the 5 year old who keeps asking 'why?'.--Kubigulo (talk) 23:07, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am. I'm having trouble understanding how it is encyclopedic. Do you have an answer to that? tedder (talk) 23:08, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Would the average number of pageviews be an acceptable measure of notability or celebrity? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kubigulo (talkcontribs) 23:47, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not really, see WP:BIG. Again, that's why categorizing them is probably better. tedder (talk) 23:59, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

br tags[edit]

You are using a lot of <br /> tags in your edits. Is it to make the images line up, or is there some other thing I'm missing? tedder (talk) 05:50, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is to make images line up. I'm sure there's a better way but how many people look at the raw text?--Kubigulo (talk) 06:16, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The problem isn't because few people look at the code. The problems come in with different browsers and different screen widths, especially the mobile versions of Wikipedia. There are some ways to line up images such as Template:Multiple image and Template:Vertical images list. However, ultimately there are too many images being used, and the lineup issues are a symptom of that. Perhaps 4 images fit with an article that length, the rest should be in a Template:commonscat-inline. tedder (talk) 10:55, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Open air school, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.faqs.org/childhood/Me-Pa/Open-Air-School-Movement.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Open Air School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Open air school has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Marek.69 talk 23:14, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Open Air School. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Fly by Night (talk) 23:16, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Chadwick International, you may be blocked from editing. tedder (talk) 14:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Adams Chadwick.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Adams Chadwick.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ♠PMC(talk) 10:27, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Press Chadwick.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
