Disambiguation link notification for April 24

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Variety (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello there. This is an invitation to join the 50,000 Destubbing Challenge Focus of the Week. £250 (c. $310) up for grabs in May, June and July with £20 worth of prizes to give away every week for most articles destubbed. Each week there is a different region of focus, though half the prize will still be rewarded for articles on any subject. Articles may be submitted for this as well as the regional Challenge you usually contribute to at the same time. Sign up if you want to contribute at least one of the weeks or support the idea! † Encyclopædius 19:40, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Encyclopædius Yeah! I am up for it but one question does Indian film articles count? This week I destubbed The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and have plans to expand over 20 stub articles. Will these count?Krish | Talk To Me 03:44, 28 ApǢAril 2020 (UTC)
Krish, rather you could rejoin this and list your recent expansions there. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

All articles are welcome, in fact there's a potential £120 to be earned for destubbing Indian cinema articles! Articles submitted for the Indian challenge can count for this at the same time.† Encyclopædius 07:10, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks Encyclopædius! I will sign up for this. Can I add The Hero: Love Story of a Spy or it is restricted to the next ones I expand?Krish | Talk To Me 09:12, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Any stub expanded since March 1.† Encyclopædius 09:34, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Mouna Ragam, an article that you or your project may be interested in, has been nominated for an individual good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:18, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Kailash29792 Sure. Will do it later as I have to finish The Sky Is Pink today (I am already one month late on this). But let me ask you one thing what made you think this article needs re-assessment? Your reason is that "it passed GA five years ago and it might not be worthy now"? Is that what happens on Wikipedia? I thought once an article is GA or FA then it will stay this way for the people of next whatever centuries Human life will be in this galaxy and who knows for Aliens (when they come) to research about Earth. Jokes aside, Is this what will happen to my all GAs and FLs/FAs?Krish | Talk To Me 15:03, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Following my latest FAC debacle, I've shifted my focus to re-assessing articles for GA status. I want to have the satisfaction that those articles, even if not FA-worthy, are at least GA-worthy. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:06, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Kailash29792 But you can do the prose tightening and fix the mistakes done by IPs and other editors and that way you won't need the article to go through a re-assessment. Why can't we lock the FA/GA articles forever to prevent them from being obsolete and only allow notable editors to edit it? Or left it to FA content task force to keep these articles worthy forever?Krish | Talk To Me 15:19, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Krish, a gentle reminder :) Kailash29792 (talk) 16:19, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Kailash29792 Sorry, I had completely forgotten about this. Will look at it tonight.Krish | Talk To Me 05:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

Change of plans - now Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 20, 2020 --Ealdgyth (talk) 14:35, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Ealdgyth I was planning for the article to appear on Chopra's birthday on 18 July. This date has no relevance to the film.Krish | Talk To Me 20:03, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Most articles do not run on dates with date significance or relevance to them. Is the upcoming date a particularly significant date - say a 100th anniversary of his birth or similar? We pay more attention to dates directly related to the article subject - so it's more likely that an article on the film will be run on the dates that it released, but a birthday of an actor is a better fit for the article on the actor. The way for schedulers to have some heads up for such events is to list them at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/pending and Wikipedia:Featured articles that haven't been on the Main Page/Date connection, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee that the article will run on that date. --Ealdgyth (talk) 20:09, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
If that is the cast then maybe I will aim for 14 November 2020 for its 16th anniversary.Krish | Talk To Me 20:17, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for the article "about a film which features Priyanka Chopra's first brilliant performance. A highly entertaining film, which was noted for its bold subject of Sexual harassment, a first for Bollywood."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:36, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Waqt: The Race Against Time

Bluffmaster!

A few notes on my GOCE copy edit of Bluffmaster!, and advice towards GAN.

  • Some sources seem to use an exclamation point in the title and others do not. Try to get a good sense of what the official title is (not a stylized promotional title) and use that consistently throughout the article.
  • Most of the article is unsourced, so I feel that you've got a ways to go before GAN.
  • There's a slight problem which I think is common in shorter articles, where editors have started writing with the lead. A better practice is to write the body of the article, sourcing everything, and then summarize the most notable sourced statements in the lead. The same goes with the infoboxes. There generally shouldn't be anything in the lead or infobox which isn't cited in the body of the article.
  • There were tone issues with the Story section. Our aim is to provide a neutral summary of the events of the story, including spoilers, not to tease the story. Unless the movie suddenly ends with Roy's cancer entering its final stages, more should be explained. Rhetorical statements like "Can the greatest conman con death itself?" are to be avoided.
  • A plot summary generally doesn't need a citation because it is attributed to the subject of the article (with the writers and producers mentioned elsewhere), but be careful of other statements which do need sources. The movie has borrowed heavily from Nine Queens (Argentina), The Game (US) and Matchstick Men (US). This definitely needs an inline citation, as a matter of policy for verifiability and to show that it isn't original research.
  • I pretty much left the Allusions section alone. I feel that a GA reviewer may ask for its removal as trivia, not essential to a summary of the subject (GA criteria for focus). If you want to justify keeping this content in the article, I would highly recommend citing it to reliable secondary sources. If RSS report it, that can support the notability of the information.
  • MOS:NUMNOTES says to group digits in Western thousands-based style regardless of the subject of the article. Rather than doing that, I wrote out the soundtrack sales with words and a conversion.
  • The mini-infobox in Soundtrack is unsourced and contradictory – it has a release date of 19 Nov while the prose has 20 Nov. I would suggest removing the box and concentrating on getting facts established in the prose. Then, if necessary, restate the sourced key facts in a side box. But the prose should always come first.
  • I was going to put the track listing in a {{track listing}} template, but it was unsourced and I couldn't confirm the roles for all of the names alongside the tracks. It should be made clear whether they are writers, performers, composers, lyricists, or what. (The track listing template will make this easier.)
  • At the box office, the film had a below average opening but recovered through its theatrical run, becoming a moderate commercial success. The source boxofficeindia.com gives raw figures only. You need a source for the analysis and commentary.

I hope that this is of help. – Reidgreg (talk) 13:52, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

Sky is Pink DYK

Hello again. I just wanted to say that I was disappointed by your response to my proposed hooks for the Sky is Pink DYK. I found your general attitude to be quite rude, especially since I went out of my way to try and help this as much as possible. I just wanted to express that point to you. It honestly made me sad. Aoba47 (talk) 22:25, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Aoba47 Sorry if my response hurt you but it was not for you/not meant for you. It was for the editor who opposed my hook just because according to him Chopra is unknown outside India and the DYK is supposed to get views. I appreciate what you did in my absence for that DYK nomination. I would like to apologise to you again. That was not my intention, never was and never will be.Krish | Talk To Me 22:31, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you for the response, and apologies for my message. For some reason, I took it way too personally and I should have instead walked away from it to cool down. Apologies for that, and I hope you are doing well. Aoba47 (talk) 22:46, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Aoba47 Yeah, I'm doing good but am super busy with my work. So much so that I'm unable to come on Wikipedia. I have also not looked at the peer review page where you have posted so many suggestions because of my busyschedule. I hope to return to finish my work there. And, I hope you too are doing well.Krish | Talk To Me 22:52, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Take as much time as you need with the peer review. I will most likely take a break from Wikipedia in the near future myself. I hope the work is going well. And I am trying my best lol. Aoba47 (talk) 23:23, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Also, if you need help with anything Wikipedia-related, please let me know. Aoba47 (talk) 00:27, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Krish!, the nomination has been approved, pending your submission of a QPQ review. Please take care of that right away. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:24, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

How was my post wrong or violating any rules Kautilya3? Pointing out the fact that just based on 10 sources you cannot label a slogan as something considering it's use since 1000s of years. Or am I missing something?Krish | Talk To Me 12:55, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
You haven't provided any WP:RS to the effect that it was a slogan for "1000s of years". If you did, that would have been a worthwhile contribution. Otherwise, you were just making a WP:BATTLEGROUND argumentation. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 13:03, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

The Hero: Love Story of a Spy

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article The Hero: Love Story of a Spy has been completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Although I did not change it, this sentence in the Plot section made no sense to me. "He sets up a spy network under the identity of Major Batra to obtain information about Pakistani terrorist activities across the India-Pakistan border." Do you mean "alias" rather than "identity" perhaps? I'll leave this for you to clarify.
