HDR

I'd like all of the original photos of that courthouse. At least from the first set. Using everything appears good for de-ghosting. Also, hugin rocks. It merges to HDR.. very very intelligently. —Darxus (talk) 19:35, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Images must specifically state who made the image with something like "I took this photograph" or something. --Admrboltz (talk) 16:08, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. Yeah... I unfortunately fall habit of templating a lot... I will try to work on it. --Admrboltz (talk) 03:08, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

re

Go for it. I knew the block was too long when I made it but I decided to be rouge about it. I brought it up on IRC, asking for an evaluation of it and possible sanctions, but none arrived. I've no problem with it being shorter, but I wasn't about to shorten it myself. Yes, I'm being kind of a dick. Thanks for the note and looking into it. --Golbez (talk) 02:48, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Images from article for Tucson, AZ

Apparently, you deleted four images from the article for Tucson, AZ in the last hour or so. Is there some protocol for the timing of deleting images? If I'd known that these images were scheduled for deletion, I could have gone out and taken similar images myself (I live in Tucson) and uploaded them as replacements, but now I'm not even sure what a couple of them looked like.

Please note that I have no quarrel with their actual deletion if they had copyright issues, only with the timing. Is there any way you can provide me with limited resolution copies so that I can approximate them myself? Eegorr (talk) 07:13, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

[[:File:Saguaro_National_Monument_East.jpg|thumb|120px|Sabino Canyon]] Kevin... I screwed up a photo and need your help. I found this photo on Flikr and mistakenly named it incorrectly when I saved it to my hard drive for uploading. Funny thing is now I can't find the photo of SNP that I had previously found on Flikr, so I went out today and took my own photo.

Problem is, if I just upload a new version of the photo (the one that I took), the copyright info will be wrong.

I think the easiest thing to do would be for an admin (kmccoy?) to delete the current photo so I can upload mine in its place. I'll be working on wikipedia tonight so if you can do this for me and let me know when it is done I will quickly load the new one in its place so we don't have to edit the articles where the image appears. Thanks! Eegorr (talk) 02:55, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

UPDATE: Actually, I just realized that the filename is incorrect - it should be Saguaro_National_Park_East.jpg. So maybe you could just rename this photo to Sabino_Canyon,_Tucson_AZ.jpg, or something like that. I just modified the description appropriately. Thanks! Eegorr (talk) 03:38, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I was on the road last night, sorry I didn't get to this sooner. I'm an administrator only on the English Wikipedia, which is separate from Commons, so I actually can't do any renames or anything there. But I passed the request on to an admin there and he did the rename as you requested, so go ahead and upload your photo to File:Saguaro_National_Monument_East.jpg (or wherever you'd like) and you can find the photo from Flickr at File:Sabino Canyon, Tucson AZ.jpg, as you requested. Thanks. :) kmccoy (talk) 23:32, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Kevin. I had already uploaded the correct picture as Saguaro_National_Park_East.jpg, since that is the correct identification. I just screwed up another name as I was uploading a photo in commons - it is File:Bioshphere 2 Habitat & Lung 2009-05-10.jpg (should be Biosphere, not Bioshphere, of course). Is that worth renaming, or should it stand as a monument to my stupidity? It is not used in any articles yet. Thanks again! Eegorr (talk) 07:38, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Sure, if you'd like to rename, just follow the instructions, and an administrator over there will do it for you. :) kmccoy (talk) 09:55, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Query: re my vandalism counts

I'm curious why you upped both my vandalism counts by 1? -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 23:47, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

I was vandalizing them. kmccoy (talk) 00:05, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
erm, ok... glad some people have spare time to do something for the hell of it. Please don't do it again! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 00:55, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Sure, just like you clearly have the spare time to update them. :) (And to comment here.) (And to edit Wikipedia in general.) Anyway, if you didn't like my edits, why didn't you just revert them? Of course, then they would have been vandalism, so you would have needed to update the counters. ;) kmccoy (talk) 00:59, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Point taken, but 1) there is a message at the top of the page "This IP address has been repeatedly blocked from editing Wikipedia in response to abuse of editing privileges. Further abuse from this IP address may result in an extended block." 2) There is also "It has been established that this IP address has been used by blocked user OfficeMax."[1] Bbefore blocking the IP, I read them. It looks as if your deletion and restoration of this article may have lost its move protection. Was that intentional? --TS 15:56, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Steve Zhang, AIV etc

Thanks for your input. I don't agree that I attacked Steven. I simply had a problem with the action he took at AIV, I raised that problem with him on his talkpage and explained why I think it's a problem in a civil and straightforward fashion. As far as I'm concerned that's where the matter rests, and I indicated as such on his talkpage. I acknowledge your comments regarding the more general matter of non-admin actions at AIV and I'm grateful for the time you've taken to discuss this matter with me. Regards, Crafty (talk) 09:50, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

As I wrote on Steven's user talk page, I am concerned that Steven has been very critical of me, in a manner that looked administrative until I found out that he was not actually an admin. This happened both on my user talk page and in multiple discussions at WP:ANI.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 09:56, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Crafty, I didn't mean for the word "attack" to be as negative as it sounded. What I meant was something closer to "comment on the edits, not the editor", in reference to your comments about Steve's history. But I think we understand each other, so I won't keep going on about it. :)
Jeff, I can understand why you might be frustrated by Steve's style of commenting, and I hope he'll read this and consider whether he's being a little too assertive or not. But I'm of the firm belief that the distance between administrators and non-administrators should be small. (Actually, I'd like to see a number of big changes that affect how we consider admins and users and such, but that's a whole other topic...) And so, if someone approaches you with a suggestion about your editing, you should take it and consider it regardless of whether it comes from an admin or a non-admin or an IP user. It doesn't change the validity of the argument. If a member of arbcom comes to your talk page and says "YOU SUCK I HATE YOU YOU DELETED MY ARTICLE", while an IP user comes and says "Hey, I'm worried that you're using Huggle to revert changes that are actually legitimate edits," I'd hope that you'd consider the latter and ignore the former. And it doesn't mean automatically doing what they tell you, it just means take it into consideration when making future edits.
Let me know if I can offer any more advice on this topic. :) kmccoy (talk) 10:15, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Album covers I uploaded

Yes, I've uploaded the B.U.G. Mafia print covers as I'm curently holding copy rights over all the group's graphic work and I'm giving them away on wikipedia for free as these albums are no longer in print and they're only interesting for Romanians (the group's lyrics are in Romanian) - and as far as people getting money off these covers or modifying them, that's not a problem for me :). Thanks for messaging me. cutkiller (talk) 16:49, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
