Klooka is a username I sometimes use on the Web. It is short for "Klookamop," a nickname for one of my favorite jazz drummers, Kenny Clarke:

http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Kenny_Clarke.html

My real name is George Spink. I am a writer from Chicago now living in Los Angeles. I spend part of each day writing and another part working on my web sites and blogs. Here's a list:

Tuxedo Junction - http://www.tuxjunction.net This is one of the most popular jazz and big band web sites on the Internet. You can hear more than 1,000 big band songs and read articles about big band personalities.

The Palomar - http://thepalomar.blogspot.com An interactive, member-driven big band blog featuring radio broadcasts, soundtracks, and concerts and where members write about big band topics.

Club Alibi - http://clubalibi.com Rhythm n'blues and classic rock n'roll from the mid-1950s.

George's Blog - http://georgespink.blogspot.com An interactive, member-driven big band blog where anyone can write about anything they wish.

Ain't Nobody's Biz - http://aintnobodysbiz.blogspot.com/ This is my newest blog where I write about anything that pops into my mind.

The Fog Also Lifts - http://thefogalsolifts.blogspot.com/ This ia short story about Gerry Pollack, a professional musician in Los Angeles.

Rather than describe these web sites and blogs in detail, I'll encourage you to visit them so you can decide for yourself if you want to spend time exploring them. I hope that you will.

Your changes to Big band[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Big band. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Rob C (Alarob) 17:01, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • As per the policies in the links above, I have removed the links to your websites and blogs. Adding verifiable, cited information to any of these articles would help to improve them, but adding links to websites/blogs with which you are affiliated is contrary to Wikipedia policy. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bg-carnegie-hall-011638.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bg-carnegie-hall-011638.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:30, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of George Spink[edit]

A tag has been placed on George Spink requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 9Nak (talk) 13:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Klooka/BigBands, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also want to move the page to EverythingWiki. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. McWomble (talk) 14:56, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This has been deleted as it made no sense at all as an encyclopedia article. Wikipedia is not a webhost or weblog. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 15
