RE:MJ[edit]

There's almost five comments asking for the same thing - a fair use image of Michael Jordan. The comment offers no substance whatsoever. If you would like to add a comment to the talk page about MJ's pictures, please leave a logical, coherent, and feasible method for obtaining a fair use image of MJ. Merely making a plea for an image does not do much, considering five users have already beaten you to it. :-p --ShadowJester07 02:10, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Probably. --ShadowJester07 02:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Muffin top[edit]

I see that you object to the picture on Muffin top on that the article is not about Muffin pastry. Merging Muffin top with the latter's article would address this problem, and would stimulate cross-discipline scholarship. Just kidding. Fair call. Rintrah 07:17, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the archiving suggestion. I think, however, I will leave my talk page as it is, so I have a warm feeling from an exaggarated idea of how many wikipedia friends I have. If I archive it, my wikipedia friends disappear in the archive. The greatest thing about wikipedia is that there are people who will help me if I ask. :-) Rintrah 15:17, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. You are included in my friend list. I like your talk page formatting. Rintrah 01:53, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide a link to the picture? Wikipedia:Copyrights#Image guidelines sets out some of the guidelines in relation to copyright and free licence images. If you are unsure about copyright, you can probably find out at the help desk. I am afraid I do not know much about copyright and licence protection, but if I can help, I will. Oh, and welcome to the League of Copyeditors! Rintrah 13:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This might be what you are looking for: |Michael Jordan photo (site states the photo is believed to be in the public domain). Rintrah 14:07, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A lucky guess. I don't know whether those images would be permitted. You could probably ask the people who are complaining about copyright whether they are satisifed, or ask at the help desk. Rintrah 00:38, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bot[edit]

Could you please clarify the situation at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/KathzzzzBot? If not, we will close the request. Thanks. -- RM 00:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Due to your recent update, we've denied the request for a bot flag. The bot can still run manually without approval as dictated by bot policy. -- RM 14:09, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dumbledore[edit]

Differences: simple. OotP: Dumbledore claims Trelawney started prophecising. Unbeknown to him, a Death Eater is lurking outside the door. However, the bartender catches the Death Eater outside the door before the entire prophecy is heard, and chucks the DE out. Voldemort thus hears the first half, not the second half. HBP: Trelawney comes to, having prophecised. THEN, Severus Snape is thrust into the room by the bartender (whom Rowling has revealed in interview to be Dumbledore's brother). Since this only began after the prophecy was completed, the complete prophecy has been heard. Furthermore, the DE has not been chucked out, but (sensibly) brought before Dumbledore for him to deal with.

Plain fact tells us this much. A bit of common sense suggests: OotP: we presume that the Bartender is suspicious, certainly not a Dumbledore ally. Therefore, he had no reason to cause more trouble by dragging the DE before Dumbledore, merely got rid of him. We assume that by the time Dum. discovered the spying it was too late, and he could do nothing except damage control. HBP: Dumbledore had Snape right in front of him, guarded by Aberforth (Dum's loyal brother). There is no way Dumbledore could not have done something, or stopped Snape. It is not necessarily evidence of Snape's loyalties; however, it is impossible to explain what happened, except that Dumbledore deliberately let the Prophecy loose (either memory charming him or using him as a loyal ally).

The second section is OR. The first is plain fact. Michaelsanders 12:22, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Michaelsanders 00:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
