The article Sun Damage has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. June 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 331dot. I noticed that you made a change to an article, United States Senate election in Maine, 2018, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 03:45, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kart2401real. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Everything to Me (Liz Phair song), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Sources[edit]

Citations must be from reliable sources -- your use of Breitbart is not an acceptable source -- and citations must directly support the information being presented -- the citation you provided for your edit on Nazi salute said nothing about Palestinians using the Nazi salute. Please be careful in your use of sources. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:12, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for February 27[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited United States House of Representatives elections in California, 2018, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Doug Applegate (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Bolding[edit]

Hey, after your recent edit on the CA house races with bolding the Top 2 finishers in the primary, I wanted to tell you that all other California House election pages do not bold the Top 2 finishers, just the winner in the November general election. For that reason, I think the Top 2 finishers should be left as is without bolding them. VietPride10 (talk) 03:46, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding them is useful for highlighting the primary winners. It's done for the US Senate race and the gubernatorial race. Kart2401real (talk) 03:57, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Kart2401real: I understand that, but that is a different scenario for the senate and governor race. They have separate primary and general election boxes. When the boxes are combined as in the CA house races, CA assembly/senate races, the top 2 are never bolded, which has always been precedent. Bolding them makes it seem repetitive when the general election results/top 2 finishers are directly underneath it. VietPride10 (talk) 04:07, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Revert edit[edit]

I reverted your edits on the CA 2018 house articles because you broke the precedent with how California elections are formatted in the voting table. Please look at the precedents with the 2012, 2014, 2016 CA house elections to see that there is one voting table because of the top-two primaries, not two. Requesting comment for Ohio gubernatorial election, 2018[edit]

Hello Kart2401real! Nice to meet you. Constance Gadell-Newton's photo was discussed on Talk:Ohio gubernatorial election, 2018, and we ended up adding it. It appears you have an opinion on this matter [3] [4] Feel free to express your concerns on the talk page. Maybe we can work something out! --Elephanthunter (talk) 03:16, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

5% is the benchmark needed to include third party candidates. Add only if Gadell-Newton finishes the election with 5+%. Kart2401real (talk) 03:18, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about on the ballot itself? WVXU says, "Constance Gadell-Newton, the Green party candidate, also will be on the November ballot."[1] But you could be right. Your argument might be of interest to other people watching that talk page, so maybe we could discuss over there.
If you're talking about Wikipedia policy having to do with percentages, I am admittedly skeptical. I would need a link to the page where this decision is listed. --Elephanthunter (talk) 03:47, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. It took me a moment, but I found references to the 5% benchmark you mentioned. It's not a hard rule, but I suppose it's precedent.
I won't press putting the photo in the header. I am going to suggest putting the photo further down the article. As precedent: 1 2. Does that sound like a reasonable compromise? --Elephanthunter (talk) 07:11, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NC-3 Special Election Map Request[edit]

Hi Kart2401real! I was really impressed with the quality of the NC-9 special election map you made, and I have a request I am hoping you could do. On the same day as the special election for NC-9, there was another election to fill a vacancy for NC-3. Do you think you could make a map for this election? I have found a map with the county results published by The New York Times, which I am sharing here: [5]. If you could make this map, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! using "show preview" button and edit summaries[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that when you make changes to content, you often make repeated small changes or corrections; your 4-27 update adding three entries to the 2019 opinion list, for example, was composed of 19 edits, made within minutes of each other.[6] You can avoid this by using the "show preview" button to confirm your change is correct and complete. A related issue is the fact that you almost never use edit summaries, which makes it especially hard to see what individual edits are changing or why. Please start using edit summaries to explain your edits, and avoid rapid fire, successive edits to the same page. Thank you, postdlf (talk) 15:01, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that yellow is a better color, both in terms of what it feels like it signifies and in terms of its legibility in separating out yellow opinions and lighter yellow joining votes. Please discuss first any other changes you'd like to propose to the color scheme, but I think it was all better off as it was. That the black text is less visible on gray is one reason why I used persisted in using silver on the individual opinion lists, but as it is exceedingly uncommon on the term lists (one opinion in twenty years of cases) it isn't worth fretting much about there. postdlf (talk) 16:08, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

When decisions are per curiam, should we presume that a justice is in the majority unless publicly noted otherwise? Justices sometimes secretly dissent. Kart2401real (talk) 16:59, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, if a dissent is not reported then it is assumed that they have joined it. I don't think they ever "secretly dissent", though they may dissent without separate opinion; then it would still have been noted in the Court's opinion that "Justice Ginsburg would deny certiorari" or something like that to indicate disagreement with the ruling. postdlf (talk) 17:06, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This article notes that it is a fact that justices sometimes secretly dissent without noting anything. SCOTUSblog lists here that the vote is not available, not 6-3. What should be done here? Kart2401real (talk) 17:56, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to post your question at WT:SCOTUS for more input, but the assumption of joining is really the only workable one we've ever had, and we only ever have the Court's own record to go by. I think it's really more a theoretical issue than an actual one, that blog post notwithstanding (his observation that he has "never seen a per curiam dissent" is either really subtle sarcasm or indicates he doesn't understand what it really means for an opinion to be per curiam). postdlf (talk) 18:11, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He knows what a per curiam opinion means, unsigned, not listing an individual justice or justices. More evidence that they might silently dissent. If a justice later admits to a silent dissent, what should be done, add a new symbol? Kart2401real (talk) 18:17, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Per curiam means "by the Court", which is why it's not signed by an individual justice as author. The premise is it's authored by the institution collectively. Which is why a per curiam dissent is an oxymoronic impossibility; the Court cannot dissent from its own ruling, only individual justices can. BTW [7] seems to be talking about votes on/dissents from orders, such as denial of certiorari (about which it is well known that the votes are never public except where a dissenting opinion is filed...which is why we do not purport to count those), not votes/dissents regarding opinions of the Court. We have a code already for dissenting without separate opinion, and if it isn't evident from the reported opinion(s) we could add a footnote to the list in support and explanation. But let's cross that road when we come to it, and we'd need a broader discussion from more participants as to when it's ever (if at all) appropriate to note an action in a case that the Court itself has not reported, something I am not aware of anyone ever needing to address. postdlf (talk) 18:52, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What should be done with the opinion table if in individual justice admits to casting a dissenting vote without noting it? Kart2401real (talk) 21:18, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Couple things[edit]

Hi Kart2401real. Hope you're doing well. I came across your name when I saw you had created {{Infobox US Supreme Court case}}, which I'm a bit confused about in light of the existence of {{Infobox SCOTUS case}}. That's something that I don't quite have time to look into more right now, but I noticed that you hadn't used an edit summary or provided much documentation so that curious folks like me can understand what the purpose of the template is or why it differs from the established one. But that's not why I'm writing today.

Rather, I see that you've recently redirected List of Korn band members (an article that's been around since 2007 and is viewed more than 4000 times a month) to Korn#Band members. I couldn't find a discussion either in your edit summary or on Talk:List of Korn band members. Was there a merger discussion or other discussion at any point about this?

In any event, I see that you don't generally use edit summaries – may I ask if there's a reason? Edit summaries make it a lot easier on other editors. I know that sometimes it can be easy to forget, and it can be a hassle to fill them out on occasion; if that's why, I'm happy to point you to a few scripts and preferences that might make it easier for you. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 08:59, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will now use them. I put an explanation on the talk page for Talk:List of Korn band members#Is is appropriate to have a Korn band member page? It isn't necessary to have a list page for a band that only replaced one member (drummer David Silveria). Paramore replaced three members (Jason Bynum, Hunter Lamb, and Jeremy Davis) and didn't have a member page. Excluding the band's history as Riverfenix, the Fenix TX lineup changed six times, with ten members in the band's history under that name. Fenix TX isn't notable enough to have a member page. How many members in a notable band's history is enough for a members page? Kart2401real (talk) 15:27, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CUPIDICAE💕 18:47, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I saw it on the NBC Sports site. I thought it was notable because notable people used that attack. I did not mean to personally attack anyone. For example, Lyin Ted has a redirect page to Ted Cruz. Should that be deleted too? Kart2401real (talk) 18:51, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You really need to read WP:BLP. I'm no fan of Rothelisberger but this violates WP policy. Lyin Ted does not direct to Ted Cruz, it directs to the article on slurs Trump has used. CUPIDICAE💕 18:55, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand now. If it redirected to Cruz, should it be deleted? Kart2401real (talk) 18:57, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Congressional district map request[edit]

Hey Kart2401real, I noticed your work on File:2019 NC-09 special.svg and other congressional district maps, and I was wondering if you could create a county results map for the 2006 and 2008 elections in Florida's 16th congressional district. You can find the map of the district overlaid on its counties here and here, and the results are available for 2006 here and 2008 here. I request this because I am really trying to improve the Tim Mahoney article, and the additions of results maps on his page would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -- Politicsfan4 (talk) 22:59, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Advice on draft[edit]

Hey there. I understand that Draft:List of Paramore band members is important to you, but honestly, if you want for there to be any hope of this draft reaching the mainspace, you need to spend less time on the members and timeline sections and more time – as I've mentioned before – on the body of the article, which is still nowhere near publishable. You've made 450 edits to this page and majority of them have been to the members and timeline sections; you've even put more time into the (in my opinion, completely unnecessary) lineups section than the body. Anyway, just thought I'd reach out, as I don't think you're getting anywhere with this draft and doubt it will be published if you continue with this current editing pattern. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 02:06, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can a draft be deleted? Kart2401real (talk) 02:09, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes – why's that? 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 03:11, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because my draft might never be complete enough Kart2401real (talk) 03:34, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough – did you want for it to be deleted (in which case I can request deletion under WP:G7)? 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 06:19, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Save it for now. More lineup changes and sources might come. Kart2401real (talk) 17:14, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, but if, say, a month goes by and we're still in this same position, we might have to revisit this discussion – I'm not trying to give you a hard timeline or anything, but it's starting to feel a lot like you just want to experiment with timelines, etc., which is what your sandbox is for. For example, with your recent edits, where is this "Other guitar" stuff coming from, and why does it only apply to Williams from the start of this year onwards – do you have a source? 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 01:14, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I like to experiment with the timelines. The article is unpublished. I thought Williams might play occasional guitar on the next album. I forgot about the sandbox. Just delete the draft then. Kart2401real (talk) 01:19, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Draft content

American rock band Paramore was formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004 by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Zac Farro, Jeremy Davis, and Jason Bynum. Lead vocalist Hayley Williams is the band's only constant member.[1] Founding members Josh Farro and Zac Farro announced they were leaving the band on December 18, 2010.[2][3] Original bassist Jeremy Davis first left the band in 2005 and was replaced by John Hembree, returning later in 2005 after Hembree's departure, before leaving again in 2015.[4][5][6] Founding drummer Zac Farro was replaced by various touring musicians during his absence, before rejoining in 2017.[7][8] Paramore currently employs several touring musicians to fill the vacancies left by the departures of Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis.[9]

History[edit]

2004–2007: First and second departure of Jeremy Davis[edit]

The original lineup consisted of: Hayley Williams on lead vocals, Josh Farro on guitar, Zac Farro on drums, Jeremy Davis on bass, and Jason Bynum on guitar. This lineup recorded "Here We Go Again" on their debut album All We Know Is Falling. Davis left the band before the recording of the rest of the album.[10] Session musician Lucio Rubino was brought in to play bass on the rest of the album.[11] John Hembree was hired to replace Davis shortly after their debut album was recorded. Hembree left the band after a brief tenure. Davis rejoined to replace Hembree. Guitarist Jason Bynum left the band shortly after Davis rejoined. Bynum was replaced by Hunter Lamb. Davis was later fired from the band before the recording of their second album, Riot!.[12] Guitarist Hunter Lamb later left the band before getting married.[13][14] Brian Weaver of the band Silvertide played bass on Riot! after Davis left the band a second time. Jeremy Davis was fired before most of Riot! was recorded. Brian Weaver of the band Silvertide played bass on the album as a session musician. Jeremy Davis rejoined in time to record vocals for three songs on Riot!.

2007–2010: Taylor York joins[edit]

Shortly after Riot! was released, guitarist Taylor York replaced former guitarist Hunter Lamb. Taylor York's first appearance on a recording was the live album Live in the UK 2008. Taylor York's first appearance on a studio recording was on the single "Decode," written by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, and Taylor York.

Brand New Eyes was released in 2009, which would be the last time guitarist Josh Farro would appear on a studio recording. Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro left the band in December of 2010, after the release of the 2010 Summer Tour EP.

2010–2015: Departure of Josh Farro and Zac Farro[edit]

Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro left the band in December of 2010, after the release of the 2010 Summer Tour EP. After the Farros' departure, the band started employing several touring musicians, including Taylor York's brother Justin as a touring guitarist. Jon Howard was also hired as a touring guitarist.[15] Veteran session musician Josh Freese was hired as the band's touring drummer for the 2011 South American tour.[16]

In 2011, the band released the non-album single "Monster," the first single recorded following the departure of the Farro brothers. Guitarist Taylor York played drums on the single.[17] The EP Singles Club was released in 2011. Taylor York also played drums on every song from Singles Club. "Renegade" was the first single released from Singles Club. "Renegade" was featured as a short introduction tune on the web-series, "From the Field" – a documentary produced by the band about the band's daily lives on the Summer Warped Tour.[18]

In 2013, the band's self-titled album became the band's first and currently only album without drummer Zac Farro.

2015–present: Return of Zac Farro, new touring musicians, and After Laughter[edit]

In December of 2015, original bassist Jeremy Davis left the band a third time, leaving Hayley Williams as the only original member in the band.[19] Joey Howard, brother of touring guitarist Jon Howard, joined as the band's touring bassist after Jeremy Davis' departure.[20]

In 2017, drummer Zac Farro rejoined the band before the release of After Laughter, the bands fifth album.[21]

Following the release of After Laughter, two new touring members were added, keyboardist and guitarist Logan MacKenzie and percussionist Joseph Mullen.[22]

Damon Johnson as an official Skynyrd memeber[edit]

Damon Johnson has been touring with Skynyrd for the past two years, and he still continues to tour with the band despite Rossington's death, that should make him an official member in my opinion. Rossington chose him to replace him. P.J. (talk) 12:45, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would rather have an announcement of some sort. Continuing to tour doesn't necessarily make him an official member. OAR has touring sideman Mikel Paris, who is not a substitute or official member. I think we should wait until an announcement or album credits to be released. Kart2401real (talk) 17:09, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well there was no official announcement of Keith Christopher as their new bass player back in 2017 but he was on the current lineup. Keith Christopher was on the list way before the Last of the Street Surviviors Blu Ray came out. P.J. (talk) 17:55, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What if a future release lists Damon Johnson as a sideman? Kart2401real (talk) 19:13, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
than we can change it back I guess. P.J. (talk) 19:47, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
