Notability of Geert Broeckaert

A tag has been placed on Geert Broeckaert, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kai A. Simon 21:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Cercle brugge3.gif[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Cercle brugge3.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Osahon Eboigbe[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Osahon Eboigbe, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Oo7565 04:43, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

flagicons[edit]

Seeing as you've been previously removing flagicons from footballers' infoboxes, I would like to inform you that we have come to a consensus regarding the use of 15px flagicons in footballers' infoboxes, so please don't remove them in the future. Cheers! BanRay 16:35, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, didn't know it. Won't happen again ;-) Karma-AH (talk) 16:38, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In close connection with that article, maybe we could make an article starting from this about the bribing scandal? --Pelotastalk 16:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I want to help, although I might lack a bit of time in the near future (examination + holiday trip). But I'll try my best :-) Karma-AH (talk) 15:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. I have the same problem (thesis + exams + holiday), also I made that article more than two years ago so it just needs finishing but I just can't seem to get it done. Anyway, nice to see someone interested in Belgian football as a whole... maybe we can improve Belgian football articles on wikipedia ? --Pelotastalk 13:04, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted images[edit]

Thanks for your message. I'm afraid that it doesn't matter that the website says that the images can be used for non-commercial purposes. Images uploaded for non-commercial use only will be speedily deleted. As you may not have seen the messages placed on the images, here it is:

Dear uploader: This media file, which you just uploaded, has been listed for speedy deletion because you indicated that only non-commercial or educational use of the file is allowed. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with this restriction on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.
If you created this media file and want it to be kept on Wikipedia, remove this message and replace this with {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want it to be used on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may replace this message with one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

Hope this makes sense. Regards, BencherliteTalk 16:29, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cerclebrugge.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cerclebrugge.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:17, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yang Wang[edit]

I had no chance of seeing any official document regarding his transfer or identity, but his transfer to Cercle Brugge drew much attention in China football community. His Chinese name is 汪洋, 汪Wang is the family name and 洋Yang is the given name with the literal meaning of "ocean". The following page on sina.com introducing his recent goal in a reserve match there can prove that his name is 汪洋, but not 洋汪.[3] That's all I can provide. I can understand that because the different order Chinese people and westerners adopt will probably cause that result, maybe only when his family name is filled as Yang can the displayed name be actually Wang Yang, just like in games such as FM. Finally, you can trust me, I'm myself Chinese native. ;-) Aa4 (talk) 06:23, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Karma-AH! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 944 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Jackie De Caluwé - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Pasi Schwalger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 14:29, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of Belgian football transfers summer 2010[edit]

Thanks for you help on List of Belgian football transfers summer 2010. However, please add references when adding players to teams. If not, they will be removed again. This time I have found references for the three players you added, but for instance for Olivier Claessens I found he was not just released, but moved to Dender. So you see, references are useful.
