Hello[edit]

Hi Kapnisma.

Obviously you have become acquainted with my recent edits to the Macedonia region article. I take it you did not receive them well , since you reverted them.

I will take the opportunity to explain why i have added them. I hope you will try to hear me out, and are not merely a hardline nationlist.

I made a couple of changes to the history

  • a couple of grammatical changes, especially in the arrival of the slavs part,. I found it to be a little verbose, taking too long to get to the point. It is more effective now, as it says the same thing, but without the confusing confabulation. (note that I am a native english speaker, so i feel that it is not unreasonable to do this)
  • there was an error in the history, After discussin about the arrival of the slavs, it then states that the Hunns and Goths came and raided. Actually they came before the Slavs, and left without establishing permanent settlement, whereas the slavs obviously settled permanently.
  • my major contribution was in the controversy section. Now I understand that you feel strongly about this, and fair enough. If you note I DID NOT CHANGE ANY of the greek perspectives, I respect them. I merely added perspectives from slav side. Now this matter has no PROVEN right or wrong answers. It is merely opinion. I found that the greek POV was predominant, I felt obliged to add the slav POV to make it balanced.

I would appreciate and look forward to your opinions. I do not want to have an edit war, but i think there is no reason that we cannot present the matter from both sides. This is the only way to deal with a matter like this.

Minor edits[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. --Ronz 21:00, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting sourced content is not a 'minor' edit. This is your last warning to stop disruptive editing. Lantonov 09:02, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: I've already started a case against all three of them here: Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Hxseek. I'm awaiting some response to this report before taking further action against any of them. If it's agreed they're sockpuppets, then it will be quicker to get other problems resolved. --Ronz 21:04, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Aris_Thessalonikis.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Aris_Thessalonikis.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 18:59, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is much better. I would suggest that you think about your point #5:
its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it is the primary means of identifying the subject of this article
Since the image is currently used in 5 articles, and could easily be added to other articles, it would likely be good for you to specify which article(s) you feel that this statement applies to and list them in the statement. ~ BigrTex 21:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: demographic history of Macedonia[edit]

You were concerned about my sources regarding the Slav invasion section. My main reference was From American History Professor D P Hupchik, who is renowned for his knowledge of the region

My main point is that at medieval times, the slavic groups were abundant in the OVERALL region of Macedonia, and in fact a large presence in Greek Maedonia. If you doubt this, simply confer with the demographic maps later on in the article which support this fact. As the article was before, it state that the slavs were elimintaed. That is simply false, as that sounds as if there are no slavs left in Macedonia.

You are welcome to more clearly state what you do not agree with Hxseek 02:28, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Propaganda[edit]

As you asserted that "historyofmacedonia.org" is a "pseudo history site", I would like to ask you to have a look at the references on the article "National Liberation War of Macedonia", you will see that some Bulgarian Wikipedians are spreading Bulgarian propaganda in the form of images and text by using nationalistic Bulgarian sites. Thanks. 203.59.65.185 11:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC) Those are not "nationalistic Bulgarian sites" but books published by historians and people from all over the world including from Macedonia. Have nice dreams now Frigthner from Perth, Australia. Lantonov 11:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm happy to inform you that I agree with 95% of the changes you made in the article. First I must add that I replaced the places where it was stated just "Macedonians" with "ethnic Macedonains" (containing link to the article wich states that the athnic Macedonains' language is Slavic and so on). Second, I agree with the removal of some words like "physical destruction", "genocyd", and so on - I would have excluded them myselve If I had time enoght to concentrate on the article. But I must say that i won't change the name "Democratic forces", for that is the official name of the DSE (Dimokratiki Stratos ti Ellada) and her followers. Hellenization[edit]

Dear greek, what would you say for that sentence from the artlicle Bulgariasation: "a reign of violence and terror was imposed in an effort to provoke a mass exodus of the inhabitants, those of refugee origin in particular"; is it not a Greek POV???

Or perhaps the Bulgarians were evil killing and descriminating the Greeks, while the Greek were always victims including during the mass massacres, persecution and helenization of Bulgarians following the Second Balkan War and WW1 on Greek territory in Macedonia and Thrace. Or the Greeks never persecuted Bulgarians??????? --Gligan 09:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
