February 2011[edit]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Glass (novel) worked, and it has been reverted or removed. However, if you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Crank image[edit]

Please do not overwrite existing images with those of something completely different. If you need to upload a new image, do so to its own name; do not destroy other work. Also, make sure the licensing information is accurate; in this case, it was completely inappropriate for a novel cover to have the information for an image taken from a national lab. LadyofShalott 01:40, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Moreover, you are being very careless with the copyright information. For the cover for Burned (Hopkins novel), you had filled out the article name incorrectly, and the rest of the fields (esp. the source) are not done properly. Please do NOT fill out any more of these and do NOT upload any more images until you are sure that you know what you're doing. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 01:52, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • You see, when a field is called "Description" and you enter "Great quality," then it's pretty obvious you don't really know what the field is for. You should have a look at Wikipedia:Uploading images, and for the rules that govern the use of the kind of image you're uploading, Wikipedia:Non-free content. Thank you. File source problem with File:Where the Red Fern Grows.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Where the Red Fern Grows.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Where the Red Fern Grows.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Where the Red Fern Grows.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

image you uploaded for Double Identity[edit]

Hi Jose,

You recently uploaded an image of the cover of Double Identity (novel). Unfortunately, you gave it the same filename as an already-existing image, and so it messed up that image on another page. I decided the best way to fix this was to revert the change so that the pre-existing filename remained tied to the same image as it had been, and then I temporarily commented out the image from the Double Identity page since it is now no longer applicable. If you still have access to the image you used, can you re-upload it with a different file name (perhaps "Haddix Double Identity" or something else identifying the author) and then re-add it to the Double Identity article? The Real World: Las Vegas (2011)[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. You removed content from Wikipedia with this edit of yours to The Real World: Las Vegas (2011), but without providing a rationale for this in an Edit Summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page.
