The article Robert Jarvis has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 17:38, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of IAFF Local 2637[edit]

A tag has been placed on IAFF Local 2637 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ged UK (talk) 16:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to the above, please take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and pay particular attention to the section on non-commercial enterprises. In general, local chapters of national organizations do not receive separate article coverage on Wikipedia unless there are reliable sources independent of the organization to verify that they are more notable than other chapters. You may wish to consider including information on local chapters in the parent article, but please be careful not to pay undue attention to any one chapter. If you have questions about this, please feel free to let me know at my talk page or to ask them at Wikipedia's help desk, typically manned around the clock by volunteers. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to File:Herb robinson.jpg has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. The article Herb Robinson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I can't find significant (non-trivial) coverage of this person in multiple reliable sources that are not local reports of his running. The references provided in the article do not mention him. Subject doesn't meet criteria of WP:POLITICIAN.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 18:28, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
