The name change here is a bit strange, in that there are several sources that indicated that the name change was immediate. I found one source that said that it was pending state notification. But nothing says January 1st. Normally I'd agree with you on going to the source, but asking somebody does not meets Wikipedia's reliable and verifiable source standards. I'm quite surprised that there is nothing on the township website saying anything about the name change. I'll try to reword the situation as ambiguous, but there needs to be an actual source that says January 1, 2008. Thanks for your efforts on trying to track this down. • I work in the State and had to check to see if the name was in effect for maps we produce. It's not a huge deal if the page says otherwise, but I figured I'd update it considering the information I received. It's uncommon for name changes to take effect "immediately," typically the municipality will set a specific date on which the name changes for official business. It's likely "immediate" because they intend to gradually update their branding the next time new items are to be purchased. Thanks for letting me know, though. I'd like to get more involved with updating Wikipedia with geography, planning, and NJ-specific data, but am not quite clear yet on some of the "norms" here.
