Luke Murray[edit]

The article Luke Murray has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a person or group of persons but it does not indicate how or why that person or group is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. howcheng {chat} 19:49, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please don't remove the AfD notices from articles that are being considered for deletion. The notices are there to inform other people that the articles have been nominated so that they may have an opportunity to partake in the deletion discussion. Removing them could well result in the articles being deleted based on a lack of motivation to keep, which may have been forthcoming from the readers of the articles. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Derby county badge 2007.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Derby county badge 2007.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Derby county badge 2007.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Commercial use of Image:Mm logo small.jpg[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Mm logo small.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Mm logo small.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mm logo small new2.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Mm logo small new.jpg. The copy called Image:Mm logo small new.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 08:30, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Mm logo small.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mm logo small.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:05, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Pluto uclan.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Pluto uclan.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac 13:24, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:MADS theatre.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MADS theatre.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:24, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Derby South services[edit]

A tag has been placed on Derby South services, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bongomatic (talk) 14:15, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Derby South services[edit]

A tag has been placed on Derby South services requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

An article you created is about to be deleted: Tools which can help you[edit]

The article you created, Bookazine is about to be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger article.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 18:14, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Rose and Crown Chellaston.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rose and Crown Chellaston.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

I see you are active on Derbyshire images. Would you like to know more about wikimedia.commons, copyright or www.geograph.co.uk (a million free images!)? Tell me if you already know all this. Cheers Victuallers (talk) 23:53, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Preview button[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your contributions. Please consider using the "Show preview" button when checking your edits rather than saving the page lots of times. If you can make a save only after a number of edits, it prevents the page history from filling up with lots and lots of very small edits. An example of where the page history is full of your edits is the Chellaston article (article's page history). Any problems - I'll try to help if I can. -- MightyWarrior (talk) 13:06, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maps of Derbyshire constituencies[edit]

Hi - just wanted to say thanks for the good work on updating maps of constituencies in Derbyshire. Have you considered creating updated maps for any other areas of the UK? Warofdreams talk 18:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GA?[edit]

Joe, did you know there is a process to get a GA? Chellaston is looking good but I suspect would not be judged GA .... yet. Oh and thanks too for the Derbyshire maps! Victuallers (talk) Its no big deal. If you want to go for GA, then look at Allestree which almost made it. Victuallers (talk) 21:00, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have now reverted Chellaston back to Start-Class. Schumi555 22:30, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Europe with flags.svg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Europe with flags.svg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Joebloggsy (talk) 10:32, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Joe,
For a file or page you create, then want to delete, you don't have to go through listing it for deletion. You can just tag it with {{Db-author}}, and it will go away much faster. (Even better, hardly anyone else has to know about it.)

Dear Joebloggsy,

I know it's an old file, but do you perhaps also have a version of the "Europe_with_flags.png" file without flags? Would be hugely appreciated!

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Adelphi building.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Notice

The article Sheilas' Wheels has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ORGCRITE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
